Poor service, bland food with no taste, plus I’d rather get kissed before I got fucked, price wise I mean there sky high will never go back and will always send friends /​family else where

I’ve rather cook then to eat here the food is not good at all there customer service sucks and there prices are ridiculously high.

Great place. Strange that they don’t have Mexican been on tap, but I won’t be pompous about it. Chips are freshly cut tortillas. Salsa is delicious. Service was spectacular. Rice and beans were great. Carne asada in chimichanga and taco was bland. Had no spice at all… as if the flavor of the meat is enough tantalize the tastebuds. Friend had shrimp ceviche and was really good… and they didn’t charge for each little shrimpy. Shrimp tacos were four stars. Great atmosphere. Fun place.

Best food in town. Doesn’t say a whole lot since this little town doesn’t offer anything else worth eating at, but this place has good drinks and the food is the best to find in town.

I give this place 5 stars for the staff and the atmosphere always friendly, prompt and attentive. The food is okay, it does the job… I don’t have anything bad to say about it, but given the choice I can’t say it compares to other Mexican restaurants in Turlock/​Modesto. But if you have to stay in town this is a nice place to eat if you are craving Mexican food!

Love my veggie burrito. There are times that there are complaints while dining but we like to order to go and enjoy the food at home.

Had an 1 ½ hours to kill in Newman before my daughters basketball game, so I went into the most bustling restaurant/​bar in town since I hadn’t eaten all day. Greeted by friendly server who gave me a menu and asked my drink preference. I asked what beer on tap and was told, but nothing excited me. Bland tap beer like coors light, bud, shock top, blah blah blah. How an establishment can have no REAL craft beer on the menu (like Stone or Anchor) in this day in age, is beyond me. Opted for a bottle of Carta Blanca. Served cold with a lime. Put the lime in my water. Chips and Salsa presented. Good salsa, very mild.
Menu was as extensive as any Mexican restaurant. Ordered combo dish with chicken tostada and Chile Colorado burrito. Came with ample rice and refried beans. It looked beautiful. It looked delicious. But, IT WAS SO BLAND. No flavor. Served with a salt shaker, and I was tempted because of the flavor deficiency. Added salsa to the rice but helped little. Too bad, because the dish looked promising. It all just needed something. At least the beer was cold and the service was friendly.

Love the Big Burrito! The name says it all! Very good even when taken out. Service is great and it’s always a good idea to hit up dollar taco Thursday’s!

Chicken flautas idk how to spell it. But oh ya. Very nice place. Always excellent customer service.

Went in recently for lunch. We were one of three tables and had previously called in our orders. One order was incorrect. Our server never came to check on us, so I called out for someone to help us out. The owner came over and argued the order was correct and said if we think it’s wrong, we should have ordered something else.
When we got our check, they tried to have us pay for another tables order. Again, the owner was the cashier and said we ordered the items and need to pay.
Not a good experience at all this time. Not sure when we will return.

Used to go here every other week but the prices have noticeably increased. Make it worth driving to Turlock or modesto. Food here is great and convenient but like I said prices are too high. Charging for chips and salsa that you don’t ask for isn’t cool. Hopefully they get their stuff together

Very average food and average service. It was empty and quiet on a Monday evening. The food tasted like something I could make at home with packaged seasonings and canned sauce. I expect better Mexican food in the Central Valley.

We’ve been coming here regularly for the last 3 years. The service is hit & miss and unfortunately, do use the food.
Not crowded tonight, five tables including ours. We sat ourselves; 4 min before or server took our drink order and brought menus; from the time we got our drinks to the time or server decided you get off of her phone and take our order, was 9 min!
My husband has ordered the El Campestre burrito on numerous occasions and ALWAYS orders carne asada and adds shrimp (w/​$ 2 up charge, which is standard). Tonight however, the waitress and cooks said that the charge is $.75 PER Shrimp, and asked us how many did we want…
37 minutes later, (see pic) our server MIA again and our food sits getting cold. I had to holla for someone to bring out food.

Overall, terrible experience and I think it’s time for us to look for a better Mexican spot. We don’t mind paying good money but its just not worth it for OK service, and/​or so-​so food.

Great Food always delicious! Campestre Fajitas are always good, and large enough to share with another person!

I always go by and either dine in or order to go around spring time. I like to order their Shrimp ceviche. Unfortunately, this last time it was more Onion Ceviche than anything. Disappointed!

Decent food, decent service. They have recently started charging for chips which isn’t good, even ordered an appetizer of bean dip and had to pay for the chips. Stupid! Some local resteraunts give both for free. Will prob start driving a few miles and skip this place

Great place. Small town, but a really good restaurant. I had the relleno burrito. Delicuos! Great food, nice place, nice service. Gotta try it!

Favorite Mexican food anywhere around Newman area. Service is great and they are very friendly.

There is not much to brag about the food here. They serve standard and very average courses here. The service is polite but lacking. Going just down the sidewalk to one of the other Mexican restaurants may turn out to be a better option.
