I love Avery County Humane Society! Last March we were blessed to add to our «pack» from this facility and it was a wonderful experience. They do care here and it is a no kill shelter which is important. I wish I lived closer so I could volunteer here!

This is the kindest group of staff and volunteers I have ever encountered in a shelter. They sincerely care about each and every animal in the shelter. Not only do they care about the animals but they care about the families they go to. They want to make sure the right family gets the right pet. They have a test drive program that is amazing. I have adopted 2 beautiful cats from the shelter that became an instant part of our family. We have been on search for a dog and although the search continues they have been very supportive of our needs. I highly recommend this beautiful shelter and these wonderful people for your next family addition.
