Very clean, very upscale bakery and café with very nice staff. The only downfall is I believe the bakery could have a larger selection. It is on the smaller side for variety. Other than that a great place to hang out!

Absolutely delicious individual lemon mousse cake. My husband who loves all things lemon, gave it a 10!!! Will definitely stop in to try more of their offerings!

Wow. You need to try the flan chocolate cake. It totally exceeded my expectations. The piece was kinda big but I finished it anyway. This is not your typical flan.

$ 2.75 a macaron, pretty pricey but worth it. I had wedding cake, passion fruit, chocolate raspberry and peanut butter. They were all delicious. I would definitely come back. I can’t wait to try their cakes and sandwiches.

Great little bakery! I get my hair done at Sculptures next door and always want to stop in this place. I finally did for a quick dessert on a Friday night. I chose the vanilla cake pop and got my husband the red velvet cupcake. My cake pop was moist and the outer shell was amazing! I wanted another one right after. My husband said his cupcake was very good. I am excited to try many other options here, some of their items look downright sinful. Staff was very patient even though it was about time for them to close. I will be back!

Delighful. went a few minutes before they closed(9pm on Fridays), and there was still a good selection. I had a coconut macaroon(imported, very sweet, good(they had MANY flavor options)), a peanut butter mousse cake(at the workers suggestion, also good), a coconut cupcake and a lemon(also very sweet but good, not incredibly moist but it was the end of the night). All for about $ 13. Nice little café. Would definitely come back, and get some treats and coffee. Practically shares a parking lot with Puerta Vallerta. So if you’ve had a drink too many, you can mosey over here for a treat, and to kill some time. Also walking distance from Citgo, if you need a cigarette… which makes the whole situation much more European, you say so?

My wife found this place when we were driving down Berlin Turnpike. This place has the best cake ever! We had strawberry shortcake; we were amazed to see that there were 3 layers. Two top layers were made of yellow and white cream(or mousse maybe) and the bottom one being sponge. It was right amount of sweetness, and it went really well with coffee. It’s not cheap but worth the money. The ambience was nice as well and there was outside patio. We will definitely come back when we have craving for dessert!

A well-kept, but poorly stocked and staffed bakery. Though it has a great location right off the Berlin Turnpike, there is little else that helps this place keep the kitchen busy. When my friend and I visited on an early Wednesday afternoon, there was one person working, who was neither helpful nor very friendly. The case was not stocked well, and there was a limited number of types of pastries to choose from. I actually walked to the other side of the bakery thinking I missed another case, but there was none. From what the bakery did have, my friend and I chose a pecan tart, a lemon bar, and four macarons, which came up to a pricey $ 16. The macarons – which are $ 2.50 each or $ 14 for six – are shipped in from Macaron Café in New York City. There was a decent selection for flavors, but not an overwhelming amount and range(especially compared to a sign that was placed right above the case that had many choices). I tried espresso, chamomile, green tea, and coconut. Each had good flavor, particularly the chamomile, but the texture was not the typical texture which is light and crisp. These macarons were chewy and a little hard to bite into. if you’re in need of a macaron fix, then you can try these, but I wouldn’t advise it if you’re looking for quality macarons. I had just a bite or so of each, and ended up tasting them again throughout the day by way of indigestion. Vida Doce is a nice and well-kept shop, but with few treats to enjoy in it. Maybe we came at an off-time, but I don’t think we’ll visit again soon.

Finally, I got the chance to come here after driven by so many times. Their modern and elegant store front design has been attracting me for a while now. I give this store 3 stars because their bakeries are not as special as I thought. Basically tars, mouse cake, and some macaron that they imported from New York. I mean not that I’m picky or have high standards, but when I used to live in Miami, elegant bakery shops like this usually have some unique or extraordinary desserts or cakes. Other than the Portuguese’s Pastel de nata, which is the egg in a croissant cup thing, there is nothing special. Even Wholefood has more variety and some unique ones.

Cute café! Jill and I were on the hunt for pastries and I remember my coworkers talking about this place. This definitely fit our requirement. I had a peanut butter ganache tart and Jill had a Nutella tart. Both were $ 5 each and delish! There was a variety of other cakes and cookies to choose from and plenty of café seating. A nice stop if you’re in the area, however I prefer Italian bakeries !

Vida Doce is one of the only(if not THE only) places I can find French macarons in the Hartford area. They ain’t cheap… but these beautiful little delicacies never are, no matter where you go. I love that Vida Doce offers a variety of interesting flavors, such as Candy Apple, Strawberry-Rhubarb, and Honey Lavender. Vida Doce’s coffee is okay but not great. I’m not sure what it is… the espresso just isn’t as tasty as at other places. And the frothed milk on their cappuccino is too poofy/airy for my tastes, if that makes any sense. I’m a fan of a traditional, proper cappuccino, where the frothed milk is a creamy, luxurious microfoam. Not obvious egg-white-looking peaks. I don’t eat sandwiches often, but I would LOVE to try one of their breakfast sandwiches on Portuguese bread sometime, especially the one with chorizo! Sounds amazing!

Just came here to grab breakfast on the way to work and passed up my usual place only to find that they’re closed. At 730 on a weekday, not to mention they’re already closed every mon and tues. The tiny printed sign on the door says open 8 or 9 depending on the day. So for people that need to be at work by these times It’s really disappointing because the food and coffee is excellent but they’re not open during peak café hours. If they want to do well they need to be willing to work, or simply just be open.

We stopped on our night out without kids @8:45 pm… they close at 9. The young girl was so nice, despite us coming in while they were trying to clean. The chocolate mousse was EXCELLENT! Had the caramello beverage also, so good!

This place is awesome! We had our wedding cake made here along with the delightful surprise of my groom’s cake(a carrot cake in the shape of home plate with the Yankee’s logo on it). They also provided a wide variety of desserts. You name it they make it. They make a delicious Portuguese chorizo bread, panini pressed sandwiches and you have to try their coffee. If your looking for a great place to stop and have a sweet treat and a coffee this is the place for you.

This is the closest bakery to me. I’ve gone in a few times. Staff is nice and very polite. The treats are a little on the expensive side. I usually just go in for the strawberry shortcake! It’s delicious! It’s the perfect size for one person! I haven’t tried anything else.

Found me a new bakery to go to! Very clean and relaxing atmosphere. It is a place where I can have a coffee in peace. Unlike visiting a Starbucks, Vida Doce is very quiet and relaxing. Crazy expensive but then again, who the heck cares about money when you want the best!

I’ve driven past this place so many times. Each time I have filled up my car at the Hess station nearby, I have always wondered about this place because it just looked cool. Since I showed up at Aldi twenty minutes before it opening this morning, I wanted to kill time and go to a DD. On my way, I saw Vida Dolce and decided to pull in. When I walked in, I was amazed to see all the sweet treats artfully lined up in the display. Since I love macarons and cake pops, I had to get one of each. The macarons were a little expensive at $ 2.50 a piece. Though I had a rose flavored one, it was not worth the calories no the money. Save your money and appetite for the ones at Le Petite France in West Hartford Center. I also ordered a chocolate cake pop. Though it was good, it was nearly not as good as the Crown Market in West Hartford or the ones at Starbucks. On a positive note, they made red velvet cake pops. Each pop was around $ 1.80. There was a $ 10 minimum to charge your credit card. I told the girl at the counter that I would not be able to take the treats because I did not have cash. She was nice enough to bend the rules and made an exception. I believed she was the owner’s daughter. This place was clean and spacious. Great place for Sunday morning studying. I would try this place again for coffee.

Little pastry shop with limited parking, so far I’ve only tried their macaroons. 3 out of 4 was good the last one was rock hard and old. I’ve also had a cheese Danish which even though tasted delicious and fresh the middle was completely uncooked and was still just dough. I will come back again and try the coffee and some cakes then revise this review as my friends seem to love this place, for now I can only give it 3 stars

Amazing pastries, decent food and coffee. Not that pricy contrary to popular belief(2.50 for a macaron of great quality, 7.99 for a panini and 1.99 for an iced coffee). Star bucks pricing basically. I highly recommend the mocha and pistachio macaron. Worth it!

In all fairness, going to a bakery an hour before close isn’t probably the best idea… So my advice is to pick an earlier time. When we arrived, the small-ish parking lot was completely full and people were illegally parked. Since none of the businesses seemed mobbed, I’m assuming the cars were overflow from the nearby restaurant. The employee behind the counter was very helpful and polite. All of the treats looked very nice and delicious. I got a Triple Chocolate Cupcake and Lemon Meringue Tart. Sadly, the tart’s crust was rock hard but it still tasted delicious. The cupcake was a little rich, but still delicious.
