This company is absolutely terrible. After selling our home, we decided to rent one managed by Real Property. The experience has been a nightmare! The house is nice enough, but the toilet keeps breaking and despite constantly calling, they never respond. We have had three floods in the basement and they don’t respond. It’s been more work than owning my own house. The answering service takes the message and that’s where it ends. Leaving messages at the office is useless. The phone is never answered and calls never returned. The few times that a repairman came, he was nice but it seems that they are ha stringed by the company. I feel bad for the owners who are out of the country. If I were paying all that money for a management company and my house was being neglected, I’d be furious. We called them to have the irrigation system shut down for the season. Never heard back and no one ever came. Don’t rent a property managed by this company unless you are your own handyman!

To sum my experience up in two words: Massive Regrets. I enlisted the services of Real Property Management because I wanted to improve the rent collection. My renter had been making the rent payments around the 8th of each month and was late once. I hired Real Property management to manage the existing tenant. Not only were they unable to get the tenant to sign a new lease(thank goodness in retrospect) but instead of paying the rent on the 8th to the 10th the tenant started making rent payments on or AFTER the 10th. For the two months I had them on the account, the rents were collected on the 10th and on the 13th. Real Property management actually benefits when the rents are late because rather than me getting the late payment penalty they kept it. What incentive do they have for collecting rents on time under those conditions. Worse than that, rather than giving me my portion of the rent as soon as it is collected they hold on to the money for a week or more. They process rents on the 11th and the 21st which means if my tenant pays rent on the 13th, Real Property management keeps the late fee, and holds my money till the 21st. I had to pay them 495 to sign on. They hindered my cash flow for the two months they were managing the property, and will be charging me a $ 575 early termination fee. I cannot find one single thing that they did of benefit to me for the entire time they managed the property. I suspect I will see even more fees from them as a parting gift since I fired them today.
