Great place, great food. Ambience is great and service is excellent. The rice noodle was awesome!

Love the phở. Clean and fast service. I usually get the chicken phở with extra veggy + broccoli. Restaurant is BYOB but there is a packy right next door so you do not really have to bring your own.

The place was very clean with a nice, bright décor. I got the spring rolls and their specially beef phở. Both were very good. I always love Vietnamese spring rolls and these were different than most I’ve had, the spices were not overpowering which allowed the natural flavor of the spring roll to come out more. The phở was good and spicy! Perfect on a cold winter night like tonight.

Absolutely delicious! Very friendly and accommodating staff — are willing to alter menu items if you don’t want particular meats(beef tendon) in phở and also will add extra veggies at no charge! I’ve tried many different phở places around CT and I would say this rates among my top two. Garden rolls with peanut sauce are also very delicious and everything is extremely fresh.

Had a great experience with takeout. Had the spring rolls which were freshly made and the chicken, shrimp, vegetable phở. Both were excellent. Highly recommend.

Great Vietnamese food! My fiancé got the Phở and I got the rice vermicelli with shrimp. We also ordered spring rolls. Service was great, food was some of the better Vietnamese we have ever had. We will definitely be returning soon.

The best thing was the service. It was my first time ordering there and the man and woman at the front were so friendly and helpful. They even offered me water while I was waiting, a very thoughtful touch. I thought the food was yummy and a good portion size for about 10 dollars per entrée. The food was prepared quick. I will definitely return either to dine in or for take out.

The place is very clean, and the people that work here are extremely pleasant and attentive to the customers. I always eat the spicy Phở dishes, like the BB1. They have much more flavor than the other phở dishes in my opinion, while not excessively spicy. I also like how their broth is clearer than most other Phở places. The prices here are a little higher than other places around by an average of $ 2 to $ 3, which I don’t mind because this place is conveniently located for me, plus service is always excellent. Also their regular serving bowl is quite large. If you don’t have a large appetite, and feel like saving a few bucks you can order the smaller size phở. Their other food is ok. I would not brag about it as I only come here for phở. I only wish they would expend the menu so more. I make Phở Viet into my regular favorite places for Phở in the Hartford area. I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

New favorite Phở place! I love phở and will eat it any time, any day. This place is in a plaza so I wasn’t too sure since lots of places have come and gone in this plaza. However, the establishment was clean and simple and with phở so good, it’s sure to last. I ordered the phở with meatballs and it was delicious. The broth is good, it isn’t too sweet like other places I have been. They gave me 8 meatballs which is a lot so I was super happy. The summer rolls were fresh and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. My best friend is vegetarian and it is often hard to find vegetarian phở, but they had it here! I really enjoyed my experience here! The first thing I thought about when I started to eat was«I never want this bowl to end!» And also«I can’t wait to take everyone I know here.» It’s that good!

I am a foodie. Because I teach at CCSU, my colleagues recommended this place many times. I only managed to find time toward the end of the spring semester. I tried take out food twice. Btw, the mango and avocado juice was great. By the third time, the owner knows my drinks. At my third time, I decided to stay and have lunch in the premise. I had phở #11 which had beef brisket, tendons, and flanks with rice noodles. It came with lime, basil, and bean sprouts on the side. I’m so glad that we have a sushi, phở, a stop n shop, moo yah, nail place on the strip mall. They are next to the CT fastrack station.

My boyfriend and I stopped in here for dinner a little while ago when we decided to take a break from our favorite phở places(Phở Boston and Phở 501). The place is tucked away in a random strip mall, but it’s a bright, cute space, and the owners are super sweet people. If I was a CCSU student, I could easily see myself working on an assignment here with a steaming bowl of phở to keep me company. As you can tell, I really wanted to like this place. It’s just that the food didn’t really live up to my expectations. I ordered the B5(Bun Thit Nuong, Cha Gio), which was rice vermicelli with grilled pork and a spring roll. It was just okay. I’ve made this dish at home minus the spring roll, and I honestly preferred my own version. They used pork tenderloin instead of pork shoulder, and the pork was a little too dry as a result. It also could have used more flavor, perhaps more time marinading. They only gave me a little bit of nuoc cham on the side so the whole dish was lacking seasoning. Out of desperation, I ended up making my own sauce out of the hoisin and Sriracha on the table and dipping all my food in that. The spring roll was the best part of the dish. It was perfectly seasoned and well-fried. I could easily eat a whole plate full of those. My boyfriend fared better with his Phở Dac Biet. I gave it four stars. The phở broth different than the phở broth I’ve had at other phở restaurants. It was flavorful but more subtle and restrained. I enjoyed it, but prefer it to be a little bolder. Overall, this place would get four stars if not for the prices, which are higher than the standard Vietnamese place in Connecticut. When a bowl of phở is $ 8 or $ 9 at our usual restaurants, it’s hard to justify paying $ 11 for it here. The restaurant itself is immaculate, and the family who runs the place is very friendly, but unfortunately we won’t be back.

Unilocal to the rescue — my husband and I randomly stopped in here one Sunday afternoon for lunch. My husband was looking for some Phở and I was interested in Vietnamese but did not want soup. Lucklily Phở Viet full filled both our needs. Located in a strip«looks can be deceiving» mall” the décor is cute, clean and minimal. There were several people dining when we arrived but our service from start to finish was top notch. Any questions we had were answered. My husband ordered his phở and I ordered the Goi Cuon — fresh garden spring rolls and Goi Dac Biet — shrimp and chicken salad with basil, onion, shredded cabbage and carrots topped with ground peanuts and served with a homemade fish sauce. Service was quick and pretty soon we both had our meals in front of us. I will let him review the Phở — although I did have a taste. It was good, if not a bit pricey for the size. As others have mentioned — you can get more for less money at some other well respected Phở establishments in the area. My meal was exceptional — fresh spring rolls stuffed with vegetables and basil were light and refreshing and the peanut sauce — well let’s just say you can’t go wrong with peanut sauce. The Goi Dac Biet that I got to accompany my spring roll was flavorful and not overly dressed. The perfect size to go along with my spring rolls. We will definitely be back — it’s the type of local restaurant to have in your back pocket for those nights you just don’t feel like cooking — whether it be dining in or ordering take out.

Heard about this place from my Aunt who’s from Newington. Already raving about this place before she even had a chance to try it yet, I knew I had to try first to confirm this extreme claim of hers. Very clean, cute, and the smell of fresh paint still lingering. Phở Viet was open and clearly ready for service! The owner was absolutely smiley and welcomed us at the door as she stood behind her podium. The staff were young family members I believe who continued the smiles and friendly service. Loved it! I ordered the Phở Tái Bò Viên– rice noodle soup w. beef cut & beef meat balls. Mom ordered the Phở Tái– rice noodle soup w. beef cut. Both Phở were good. Just average. Not very memorable. This is a place you can depend on for a quick stop for Phở you know for sure is good but not an «OHMY Goodness! I want to introduce this place to all my friends!» kind of place. I also got the cà phê sua đá– vietnamese iced coffee(I added mine w. boba/tapioca pearls) Woo! was this STRONG, I was only halfway through my drink and already gleefully skipping to my car and bouncing up and down in my car like a slinky. Good gracious! Overall: Service gets perfect rating from me Food gets average rating Price gets poor rating. Bowl of Phở for $ 11? Is severely overpriced to me compared to other Phở places which are $ 8-$ 9 and sometimes give you bigger portions.

Had the C-1…ehhhh …a bit pricey for what you get… kinda bland… I’m going to give it one more shot and try the beef Phở soup next time… Hopefully that will be good… the ice coffee is delicious… but expensive

Phở Viet is awesome! Its in the perfect location; with nothing else in the area like this, its a definite go-to location. The place is extremely clean, bright, and welcoming. The service is warm and friendly, and the food is awesome! I believe their restaurant changes the menu from time to time, which is cool too. I’d definitely recommend this to anyone!

The Phở was mediocore. I would not repeat for Phở. The stock was not very flavorful. The noodles were clumped together. The portion of beef was skimpy for a large bowl. The only reason I gave 3 stars instead of 2 is because the place is clean and the service was excellent. Phở was $ 8 for a small, $ 9 for a large.

Service was A plus! I’ll be back simply because the staff was nice. Just a little background, that evening I went to two other phở establishments prior to coming to Phở Viet. First establishment sat a couple before me because apparently according to them the line starts at the end. Second establishment is apparently closed and moved to Wallingford. Phở Viet is clean and I wouldn’t be afraid to take those new to phở. The décor is simple and refreshing. I appreciate that the staff was extremely accommodating. I can’t see any other phở place willing to go the extra mile. My son was slightly fussy because he wanted his bottle warmed– the staff was eager to assist. Now for the food– the summer rolls are delicious! Yay finally a place that doesn’t overstuff wit iceberg. I’m not saying they didn’t use iceberg but rather you can taste the meat and shrimp. Meat was flavorful but not too salty. As for the phở the broth was almost exactly the way I want it. They didn’t have any specialty phở like phở Boston but knowing that the establishment was clean and the service was amazing I can go without phở and spicy peanut sauce. The broth wasn’t watered down nor was it drowned in sauce. For those not familiar with the basic phở broth the broth here might appear as if it is missing something. The reality is, it isn’t. Most Asians fix their own phở and adjusting a few ingredients here and there according to their preference. Clean and clear broth– the following day the broth was still clear. That to me is a sign of good phở. The meats were also fresh– no signs of meat from the previous week. One thing that stood out for me was how well they cleaned the bean sprouts. I know first hand how extremely time consuming cleaning bean sprouts can be — well this place provided me with ultra clean sprouts. Garnish was fresh. My only complaint was I would have preferred more in the combination bowl than what was offered. I don’t know maybe throw me half a meatball and a few strips of Viet sausages? Overall I will definitely add this as my go to phở place because I know I can expect to be treated with respect. Great basic start, I’ll definitely be grabbing my phở here even if they don’t have spicy peanut sauce.
