first time here– got the 3 carne asada taco plate. the meat was way overly seasoned. the rice was a fluorescent orange. the cook was nice though and i liked their beans. but i won’t be back for the carne asada tacos because of the weird flavor on their meat, perhaps that is how they like it, but not for me.

My daughter who goes to school nearby here at the Masters College frequents this place. She talks about it all the me so when I moved her back to school a few weeks ago, Taco Padre was high on my list of places to try. TP did not disappoint! Authentic and great value. My heart and arteries may have other reactions, but my stomach was very satisfied! Gracias.

I’m so bummed about this place. So many good reviews here, but they don’t match up w/the food i was served. I ordered two tacos al pastor and two carnitas. I waited about 10 minutes for the lady to make my food. She walked over to the cooler and took a handful of each of the meats and placed them on the cook top. I found that to be weird. I noticed that they served these tacos naked, so i filled up some cups w/cilantro, onions and hot sauce. Took my food to the park and enjoy the nice day. First, the al pastor had egg in it. I’m sure that’s ‘cuz i saw her making eggs for a burrito just before my order and she failed to clean the grill properly. That’s not cool. The flavor of the meat wasn’t one of the better pastor’s i’ve had and they don’t cut it off a spit like they show on the window outside the restaurant. It was over cooked and dry, too. Onto the carnitas. Now, i’m not one to complain about some piggy good fatty pieces as they add a lot of flavor to the food, but i got two tacos that were easily 60% fat. Not to mention the fact that no salt or other spices were used to flavor it besides the existing grease on the grill. Very disappointed in this as well. The chili sauces were nice and spicy w/really good flavor. I just don’t know why that doesn’t translate to good flavor in their meat. I don’t know if i’d ever give them another shot. Maybe Sunday at noon is just a bad time of day to eat there.

Their Al Pastor is on point. Asada was decent, and the chicken was mediocre. Overall the tacos were worth the trip at $ 1.25. Tortillas are delicious and they have a handful of pretty good salsas to choose from.

Carne asada fries and burrito are distasteful, unsatisfying, plain and boring. Wouldn’t go back even If they paid me.

This is it, you found it. Taco Madre is the promised land of cheap tacos and joy, that has still managed to remain well hidden and perfectly preserved. Tired of Chipotle and Café Rio and other cleverly disguised versions of Taco Bell? Ready to get the good stuff? Hit up Taco Madre any day for their dollar tacos. That’s not a typo folks, we’re ONEDOLLARTACOS! Choose your meat, grab some condiments and bask in the glory that is Taco Madre.

After reading the reviews I had pretty high expectaions for Taco Padre, unfortunately both my trips left me feeling unsatisfied. Both times the carne asada was completely void of any flavor and looked and tasted like it was steamed and not cooked on a grill. The carnitas had a very weird texture and wasn’t shredded but in the shape of a torn up cube, it was very weird. The beans in the pupusa looked and tasted like they had been sitting under a heat lamp since the night before and had a crusty hard texture which was very disappointing. They also forgot to put in one of my girlfriends tacos, not a good first impression. The Cubana torta I tried was pretty good, but that was about it, I probably won’t be back with the awesome Tortas Los Originales right down the street from them.

Taco Madre is NO more… same Owner has decided to change the name to «Taco Padre» Although I’m not really one who goes to Buffets this seems like a pretty good deal to me but I didn’t bother to see what kind of items they have. My wife and I decided to order from what’s a pretty good menu selection, and I see photos of Al Pastor on the trompo everywhere so that should be a good thing!?. Carne Asada y Camarones — 4-Stars Camarones — Nice large shrimp, cooked nicely with good flavor. Carne Asada — Although EVERYTHING seems to be cooked on a flat top the carne asada was pretty good, Beans just OK, Rice I pass… Torta de Milanesa(res) — The telera /bread was a little overgrilled and NO mayo was spread to the underside before grilling so it left the telera on the dry side, the thin piece of beef was nicely seasoned and breaded done well I also it didn’t have beans, but they do have a good salsa roja that saved the day 3-Stars Tacos — Carnitas y Al Pastor Carnitas — Great PIG… Crispy meets Moist = DELICIOUS, tacos are served plain and you put your own toppings. 5-Stars Al Pastor — I’m not really sure what the deal is here, they advertise Pastor on a trompo, they do have a trompo, but… it was NOT being used, the pastor was cooked on a flat top grill, now I didn’t see if it was precooked on the trompo and finished on the flat top? either way the pastor was just slightly above average but definitely NOWOW here! 3.5-Stars AVG: 3.875-Stars

I guess Taco Madre had a name change, since it is now TacoPadre. In any case, the food looks good, and I suppose the buffet is a popular deal. I only tried some beef tacos, which were tasty. It’s a nice place, I just wish they accepted credit cards.

3 stars with easy potential for more. The tortillas rock. The tacos(el pastor and carnitas) had amazing flavor, and the salsas are top notch. PROBLEM: I had 3 tacos and there couldn’t have been more than 1oz of meat on the 3 tacos combined. One taco had about 3 slivers of al pastor. I you’re out of meat just say so and I’ll order something else. I give it another try, but if I don’t get at least two bites worth of protein, I’m out!

Sorry folks I can’t do it anymore. This has been my goto place for tacos since they opened last year and today we part ways. I went in for at least the 5th time in a row. I ordered my tacos al pastor, that appears to be grilling on the spit. What comes out is one of two things. The knife to cut the meat of the spit, then the spatula to throw it on the grill to actually cook it. Or a precut pot of meat that gets tossed onto the grill. It’s ALMOST forgivable on a Tuesday night, but this is Friday @ 9pm and they’re cutting and grilling. No more will you burn me! Goodbye. For now!

Awesome tacos, in fact awesome food in total. I’ve had their beans and rice, caldos, pupusas, you name it. Not been disappointed at all. Service is quick whether take out or eating in. Be sure to check out the salsa bar. It is excellent and the hours of operation can accomodate any food craving.

This place makes the best tacos al pastor I have ever had! My boyfriend and I love Mexican food, and we stay up a little late doing things on Tuesdays, so we were looking for a place that was open late. We were going somewhere else that I really didn’t like, so we checked out this place. Taco Madre has pastor until midnight, and it’s delicious! The people there are friendly, and there’s always enough salsa/cilantro even late. I like the place, especially the older photos on the wall. Tres tacos and a bottle of Sangria, and I am in heaven.

This Taco Madre is better than it’s partner over in Canyon Country. I have been here multiple times for the lunch buffet. For $ 6.99, you can eat all you want and they also throw in a drink. Their best buffet is on Fridays. It is a seafood buffet which features, buttery garlic shrimp, a spicy shrimp, a variety of pork cooked in different sauces. a seafood soup, vegetable soup, rice, beans, fresh hand made tortillas, and of course the salsa bar. Then in the evenings they close down the kitchen and only serve tacos. They have the same variety as the other taco shops around: carne asada, al pastor, tripas, lengua, buche, and chorizo. All the tortillas are grilled with lard and then filled with a generous portion of your selected meat. It is still no las delicias, but I can say that I will be a returning customer.

Instant winner. Think Las Delicias, but in a nice, new, comfortable setting. The sort of place where you could sit and talk for hours(as we did). Al pastor only spins on Friday and Saturday, but it’s better than Las Delicias, which isn’t an easy thing to say. Open until 3AM on the weekends.
