Worst Starbucks ever. I ordered a Trenta Mango Black Tea Lemonade with light ice. They gave me a cup full of ice and less than 10oz of iced mango black tea no lemonade.

I used to think that all Starbucks locations were great… Lately, though, it seems that friendly staff and good baristas are few and far between. Fortunately, this is one of the good ones! Newburyport Starbucks is in a very busy location so don’t be surprised if you encounter a line or can’t find parking — that’s the downside of any«in town» coffee house and obviously that can’t be blamed on the staff. I’ve been going to this location for years and the staff are always friendly, courteous and helpful. My drinks are always made just right — which you might think would be a given, but I’ve recently purchased the same drinks at other locations that were undrinkable. I lucked out my last 2 visits and popped in while the shop was quiet. On my last visit, the barista told me the history of the«flat white»(yes there’s a story and it’s very interesting!) and it’s now my favorite drink. This morning I was passing by while walking my dog and, desperate for a coffee, I poked my head in and asked if I could order from the doorway(no dogs allowed per board of health). One of the girls happily ran over to take my order and my payment. A few minutes later, a smiley barista returned with a perfectly crafted flat white. Newburyport has several coffee houses that are not chains and I have tried them all. I always try to support local businesses, but at the end of the day, I’d rather get my coffee at the Newburyport Starbucks: I’ve always received better service and a better product. Thanks everyone :)

Worst Starbucks ever— not friendly, gave me skim milk chai instead of soy milk. Good thing I’m lactose intolerant… Not spending my money here again. Disappointed.

How can you go wrong with Starbucks? I mean, has there ever been better coffer in the history of the world. This location is in a quaint part of Newburyport, so it is a nice place to re-charge if you’re walking around town. Parking, though, can be tough, but that’s the way it is for every business around here. I always stop by here when I’m in downtown Port, and it makes me feel happy.

Yes, it’s a chain, but I have to say that the staff here has always been great!(Other locations… not so much.) Wonderful selection, although seasonal drinks do tend to run out by the end of the day so if you’re craving a seasonal coffee, get there early! :) The coffee shop portion of the place is always very clean.

The worst Starbucks I’ve visited and I’ve been to quite a few. Virtually no seating area, the interior is extremely small and crowded and the staff was less than pleasant. Way too small for the volume of business they do and just a total fail.

Not bad for a SB. Good décor on the walls, and a good atmosphere. Bathroom was not superb.

The location they chose helped preserve some of the local charm. Friendly staff are quick and get you order right consistently. Ask for a pump of chocolate in your chai latte for a fun change or a shot of espresso for a «dirty chai». There aren’t many other places around market square to grab a quick hot drink, except for a few diners specializing in the food instead.

I am in pretty much total agreement with Jarred S. from below. Basically take everything he said and paste it here. I give it a 2 because, it’s a chain and there is some consistency here and so if you want something that only Starbucks offers, you can find it here and they usually don’t screw it up in my experience. I however way more often than not, go to Souffles just down the street to support small business and their coffee doesn’t taste over-roasted as S-bucks coffee does. Now. About the renovation. I used to think this was a cozy neighborhood S-bucks that you could sit in and enjoy and it wasn’t always perfect and I liked the funky lights and colors and mismatched comfy furniture and ever changing local art. They basically decided to scrap that whole groovy local thing and completely corporatize the shit out of every nook and cranny. The line flows faster/better than it used to, although the bathroom is always blocked when it’s busy and they sacrificed their seating to have essentially a drink order waiting area. I also don’t like the safe neutral colors and cheesy décor of the new renovation. If you liked the old Starbucks, I’m sorry but it’s dead, go to Souffles, go to Café Di Sienna, go to Stella’s if it’s open, hell, come to my house I’ll even make you a latte and I actually have places to sit! What a novelty!

I just have to rate this location after the renovation. I initially thought the«new» renovation was to better accommodate the volume of people, flow and make more efficient use of space with comfort seating and perhaps even more of it. In other words a renovation to benefit its consumers. I was plainly mistaken. Seating is hard, uncomfortable and organized more like an icecream shop. The inversion of the line form has caused a pileup around the back door /urinal. In the end, the renovation is purely for the employee with more working /storage space. At least it’s clear what Starbucks wants of its customers at this location, to get our drinks and get OUT!

One of the worst Starbucks I have ever been to. They not only burnt my Starbucks once, but twice. I just ended up giving up when the Barista forgot my syrup the third time around…

Located in the heart of downtown, very busy. Seating and parking can be tight. Be prepared to wait a few extra minutes for your drink.

This is location is great. Right downtown and you get that warm feeling that you’re home. I’ve only been there once so I can’t comment on the staff and the consistency of their drinks and service. But when I’m in town, I definitely would go back.

The drinks are consistently good and the staff is consistently nice, what more can you ask for. It’s downtown Newburyport so it gets pretty busy on the weekends but they are always on their game.

Can’t beat their coffee. The new layout doesn’t encourage meeting up for a conversation. Go across the street to Abrahams Bagels for a breakfast sandwich if you crave bacon and bagels.

This is a smaller location but convenient to all the action of downtown Newburyport. They do have 2 entrances/exits which cuts down on congestion inside the store and allows a more flowing atmosphere. The staff is nice, the service is quick and the coffee is good. This is an easy pop in and out location when on the go or leisurely shopping in this beautiful town.

It’s a Starbucks in newburyport so it gets stars for that. But it’s a bad place to meet someone the chairs are set up weird and there isn’t enough of them. Go get a drink but don’t plan on sitting there. You’re in downtown Newburyport so you’ll be fine.
