I’m not surprised this place has 4.5 stars. It really should have 5 but that’s just me. The food it spectacular. The owner is super nice, the food is aways consistent and they get it cooked very quickly. Burritos like I’ve never had before or would ever think of cooking but are all delicious. Very good prices as well. I could eat here every day.

I can only speak to the Sweet Potato Burrito with added carmelized onions. It is THE best Burrito experience in Newburyport and one of the two best(American Barbeque in Rowley being the other) in the vicinity. Superb.

For those of you who may have recently read these reviews perhaps you read my review from yesterday or so, and after having written that review I received a follow-up from Metzy’s GM Jill and I have to say she must be a very lovely person, because she handled everything with such tact, it’s unbelievable. Rarely do you experience the kind of customer service which I experienced today. In light of said interaction I have decided to rewrite my review, a la Chef. The Good: The food is hands down some of the best around. As I mentioned in my now deleted review, it is not the most authentic thing ever, but with a name like Metzy’s and a chintzy sombrero on a totally rad kawabonga dude ocean backdrop I don’t think that’s what they were going for. On the same note, it’s almost impossible to find authentic Mexican or Tex Mex cuisine in the beastly North-East(besides possibly Anna’s Taqueria, and that has more to do with flavor that format), and that isn’t to say they aren’t at all authentic because there are aspects of them that certainly are. When I first started going here I would always get the tacos. I’m a simple guy and I stick to the things I like. My favorite were the steak tacos although you really can’t go wrong with any of the flavors that sound like they would be your thing. The burritos are also out of this world. I honestly do not think that any place can compete with Metzy’s besides perhaps Anna’s Taqueria, and they’re far enough away that I don’t even consider them direct competition. The Bad(Not so much«bad», as just«could improve» and«symptom of the food truck system».): As a previous reviewer wrote the service can at times be «glacial», but that’s almost to be expected when you are hugely popular and only have a few people working as fast as possible in a very small space. It’s like expecting cats to be easily trainable. The only other thing is that on rare occasion there is a lack of consistency in the vivacity of the customer service, but if I was working at a food truck in the dead of winter I would probably go Jack Torrance on someone, so I can’t really blame the staff for a bit of sluggishness and ennui. The only other critique is again a symptom of the food truck; cash is easier for everyone. They have streamlined their POS system for credit since the beginning, but it could be smoother and that’s a nitpick. The Ugly: *Note that this section has nothing to do with the average every day service you would in my opinion receive at an establishment that I am reviewing and only is to cite out of the ordinary circumstances, or if a place truly is horrible, and if you’ve read this review you would know that I do not think of this place as being horrible. I won’t get into the issue as I had in my previous review, but I want to say that the issue I did have was handled incredibly professionally, and that I have to give major props to Jill for being an awesome GM who is on top of her business. Our issue was taken seriously, responded to swiftly, documented, and we were reassured that there are policies in place to keep things like it from happening. We were also reassured that they will be opening a brick and mortar restaurant which is awesome because it means that a lot of that nit-picky stuff mentioned above will cease to be an issue, and they’re also possibly ditching the M and Sombrero ;) Anyways, thanks Metzy’s for being awesome.

If there was a 6 star option I’d use it. I visit Metzy’s about 3 – 4 times a month. Mostly at the Newburyport Brewery on thirsty taco Thursday’s! The freshest ingredients used makes for the most flavorful explosion that is out of this world. Lookin forward to the Summer at the airport

I’ve been going to Metzy’s Taqueria since I moved to the area in 2014. This place is *consistently* on their A game. Every single time. You really can’t go wrong here. Everything on the menu is delicious. You’ve gotta try the steak burrito. And then go back the next day for a fish burrito. And grab a pork taco and a black bean & sweet potato taco the day after. Always ask about the daily specials — they are always changing and always delicious. If you are thinking about making a trip to Metzy’s, stop thinking and just go. You won’t regret it.

Pulled. Pork. Burrito. Yum! Delicious sauces and flavors all folded together. Customized chicken burrito for the kids, big enough to split. Love the outdoor location with corn hole. Easy and delicious.

I like Metzy’s. However, while the fish tacos were very the second time I ate off the truck, I got sick almost immediately and I’m running a slight fever today. So, that sure does sound like food poisoning to me, although I couldn’t prove it. The tacos were delic and quite spicy. I won’t be ordering them again!

Metzys is probably my favorite food truck ever! Anytime I visit plum island or Newburyport I always visit Metzys for my favorite chicken tacos with mango salsa and a chipotle sauce. Their other tacos are also great, and the staff is super nice. This place is a must try if you are in the area.

Fantastic food. Been there twice in last week. Pork and steak are delicious. Burrito was enormous. Pretty cool to watch the planes taking off and landing. Parking was easy. Games for kids were a nice touch while you wait, although the food came out quickly. Kids meals are a great deal. Staff was very friendly. Cannot wait to go back.

Perfect way to end a morning trip up to plum island ! We stopped here on our way home. The tacos hit the spot. Very fresh ingredients! We didn’t have to wait more than five minutes for our food to be ready. It took even less time to devour these yummy snacks! Definite must-try spot if you are at plum island or Newburyport!

Been sitting waiting for three tacos for literally 35 minutes. There are other people waiting and I understand some people are picking up orders made online. But this is ridiculous. Even if the food is amazing, this has been a terrible experience. Im not one to hand out poor reviews…

Love the food! Stopped in by their food truck in Newburyport, after a regular w.e. shoot, so hungry and cold! The manager Eric M was so friendly! Good luck with the expansion at the Industrial Park @ Newburyport!

Tried Metzy’s at the Plum Island airstrip last week and I was overall very positively impressed by my shrimp taco and plan to go back and make a more thorough survey of the menu. Service was very friendly also

I’m a die-hard regular at this taco truck, at least one lunch a week. I’ve seen Metzy’s go through their growing pains on the speed of service, but one thing has always remained — GREATTACOS! My go to is a Fish and a Steak, but the Pork and the Black Bean/Sweet Potato are also outstanding. If I could get more than 2, I would, but then I’d need an afternoon food-coma nap!

I know my way around a taco. I’ve eaten a lot of tacos. Most people who are not actively engaged in the preparation and sale of tacos would say too many. I recently had the good fortune to eat two more from Metzy’s taco truck. I had a 2 pork tacos and chips and salsa while out biking a century(100 miles). These are some fine tacos. Maybe it was the 62 miles I rode before the tacos. Or maybe this was taco perfection. The pork was great. The taco was full without being impossible to eat. The sauce and condiments were amazing. It took a while to get the tacos, but you can’t rush taco-perfection. Also, I had some fun banter with the people running the truck. I wish this truck would move to Cambridge so I could eat there more often.

Really? 25 minutes for a small fish taco? What a waste of 30 minutes of my life. I realize it’s tourist season but there were 4 ppl in front of me with small orders. Taco was good but not worth the ridiculous wait.
