First time i am seeing yellow chicken tandoori. Not good at all. If you ever tasted food from India, this hotel is a nightmare. Chicken Biriyani was lame and bad. Will never come here again

AYCE Chicken tikka Masala?! Sign me up! This place is a great lunch option, but only if you have a clear calendar for the rest of the day(Make sure to pop some fennel on your way out… It helps). When this place first opened it was terrible… And I vowed never to return… But after much coaxing from my coworkers, I gave it a second chance and have been frequenting this place ever since. I guess they just needed time to get the kinks out. The tikka masala(both the tofu and chicken) is as good as any you’ve had anywhere else, the daals are good, and the chili chicken is very flavorful. These are the dishes they most commonly have and probably the best ones. They rarely have saag paneer on the AYCE, but from what I recall it was soso. The samosas and onion baji are okay, but not consistently on the AYCE… That said they are not that good to where I miss them. My biggest gripe with this place is the chicken tandoori. It doesn’t have the flavors or that trademark deep red color that I generally associate with tandoori. Just tastes like oven roasted chicken. If they can improve that this place would be 5 stars. Dessert: you gotta end with the Keer(not only because it means penis in Farsi and you can make that joke all day, but because it’s delicious). Only wish they had gulab jamun next to it like most AYCE Indian lunch places. Protip: ask for the chili naan. Not only is It bomb, but you won’t smell like garlic in your next meeting. Overall: considering value, taste, service and compared to other Newbury Park/TO options. I give this place 4 stars(again noting this is only based on lunchtime AYCE)

This Indian cuisine restaurant is really close to where I live so it gets preference over the others. The goat curry I had here was amazing and goes great with both roti and rice. Buna chicken is not exactly what we get in India but okay. Don’t try the paratha or you will end up pulling your teeth out. The cheese naan is made with liberal stuffing of cheese which obviously makes it too tasty. The non-veg thali is good enough for a full meal. My favorite would always be the lamb keema with butter naan.

We have ate at several Indian restaurants but this by far surpasses all of them. Absolutely amazing and delicious food but the exceptional service is what sets the bar. Will recommend this place to anyone and everyone that loves Indian food.

Good atmosphere, good service, but average food. Or even below average The 4 stars are overrating. The food is just not authentic. Not spicy as expected. Not even mild. Lame children tikka masala, I can even make better than theirs at home. Chicken tandoori is not red nor it is spicy. Looks like any regular grilled chicken. The bread is excellent though.

I’ve been here a few times and I enjoy both the ambiance and the food. I’ve tried multiple dishes and I can’t say that I’ve disliked any of them. Their samosas are yummy!

I would not go again. The restaurant does not seem very clean not only to sight, but there is a certain smell there and the carpet looks old and dirty. Food is a-okay, nothing special.

Buffet is great value for money with enough variiety. The pakoras weren’t as good as they used to be and they removed the samosas from buffet menu.

The buffet and excellent customer service keeps me coming back(whenever I can as I live in LA). Their samosas are delicious! I always go when they have a buffet(which I until 2pm) since you get more food for your Buck!~ love this place!

Beautiful décor, the food is very good and authentic. I really enjoyed the lamb dishes especially. Friendly service, and there’s an Indian store next door.

A good restaurant — this is Thousand Oaks. Far away from the valley, very far away from LA, far far away from home. That said, these guys do a decent job. I have stayed at the palm garden many a times and frequented this place often. Food is good, flavorful and nice. I love their tandoori, their naan is pretty good. I like their veggie options as well. The good thing is they adjust spice levels based in your requirement. By that I don’t mean adding a table spoon of chilly paste/powder: their food is flavorful even when spicy. The owners are Punjabi. And punjabis are fun loving people. overall service is great. Couple things that are very stereotype: long hanging silk curtains! I hate that, we don’t have things like that back in India. Very sad selection of Bollywood wedding songs! I guess folks like it. Lastly: while the entrée is excellent, they need to really improve on their chaats. Bhel is usually soggy with very strong tamarind syrupy taste. Samosas re ok. Overall they are a good Indian joint. The bar area is cool with TV I don’t know about free wifi. They also deliver locally. Plenty parking, patio seating is available. I like it. Go try it.

I was worried when I saw this place from the outside but wow, they really impressed me. The food is just spot-on delicious without sacrificing authenticity. The service is top notch and there is plenty of variety on the menu. Start with the garlic Naan and you won’t be dissapointed.

This is a wonderful place to stop by and get a little food. We got the garlic naan, and lamb korma(medium spice). It really hit the spot as we were very hungry. Everyone was really friendly, from the lady who greets you when you first walk in the door to the lady behind the bar and even the guests. If I lived in the area, this would be my go-to Indian place. As it is, I’m lucky enough to drive through this area a number of times each year and I’m grateful I now know of this place.

I’ve been living in the Conejo Valley long enough, I remember when Indian cuisine was nowhere near as plentiful as it is now. Nowadays we have several choices in the area, and I have to say Saffron has been the most delicious and consistent — both in food, service and ambiance. This is my go-to Indian place to take friends visiting the area. The service is always impeccable, polite and professional. The ambiance is the best you’re going to get in an Indian joint. Dark colors, Bollywood flicks playing in the background, and lots of candles at night, which I absolutely dig. Let’s move on to the most important aspect of this place, though. The grub! Every single thing I’ve had since they opened for the past few years has exceeded expectations. It’s interesting to taste the different nuances/differences between Indian places. Some places tweak recipes in a unique way, which is admirable, but doesn’t always hit the mark. Here, however, it always does. I usually go for my usual standby, Saag Paneer. I tend to lean vegetarian so their multiple tofu and mixed vegetable offerings are much appreciated — I’ve seriously loved every dish I’ve had here. Plus, when you tell them hot/spicy, they ACTUALLY make it a perfect level of hot/spicy, yes, even here in «milquetoast» T.O. You can’t go wrong with any of their Naans, either! Lots of options here. I’ve never sat at the bar, but they are very skilled with mixed drinks and have several fantastic beer choices on tap. Looks like a pretty popular place for regulars to hang as well. In addition to their restaurant service and food being consistently kick-ass and awesome, their take-out and delivery service has been impeccable as well. One of the first places out here to utilize online ordering(besides Pizza Hut…) Finally, I, for the record, totally appreciated the Willy Wonka sign that made fun of lagging patrons. Guess too many people got their knickers in a bunch because I didn’t see it last time. Oh well. Go, go, go!

I came here for lunch years ago when I happened to be in town for work. It had good food with a pretty basic décor from what I recall. I just moved to the area and decided to try Saffron for dinner. The atmosphere was great and better than I expected. It was pretty full but we were seated right away. Very friendly staff and the menu had all the basic necessities. We ordered shrimp jalfrezzi, saag paneer, chicken tika masala, daal tadka, samosas and roti. I over ate and we still had leftovers. The shrimp jalfrezzi wasnt my favorite and the shrimp were a little tough for me but my wife liked the dish. Masala was good but I swear I could smell the butter! I was happy to see the yellow daal on the menu. Overall good food and friendly service. We will definitely be back!

This is a great spot for Indian cuisine. I came here for lunch with my coworker’s and it was not a regret. The food was great and very authentic from the garlic naan to the chicken curry to the dessert dishes. The vegetables are filling and go great with any item you choose. The lunch buffet is the way to go when you first come to this location because you get to taste a variety of their flavorful dishes. Service is great as the staff will make sure your needs are met. Parking is a non issue as you will find a great spot for your chariot.

Best indian around the Conejo. Good beer and wine list. Food is fresh and very tasty! Service is usually spot on. The last time, it was just a bit slow, but they were very busy. I have eaten a lot of Indian food in the world and this is great! Decoration is nice too and they play nice music and there is a screen with Bollywood movies in the background.

Came here with a Groupon! Groupon was pretty insignificant($ 16 for $ 8) when each dish is at least $ 10. The food is actually pretty good — you get a free appetizer if you check in. They’re some kind of potato pancake, and they’re actually quite good! Additionally, their naan selection is great — especially the one that’s stuffed with pistachios and brown sugar. It’s buttery and sweet and really hits the spot! The curries were alright — I didn’t really care for the butter chicken, which tasted like it was drenched in some kind of ketchup sauce. Biggest complaint was definitely the service — sloooooooooooow. It took quite a while for our food to come out, and looking at the tables around us, people were getting pretty impatient. Another weird thing, may have just been an isolated incident, but they were projecting a Bollywood movie on one of the walls — I figured it was for ambiance. The weird thing was that it was some kind of doctor drama(it was in hindi). It’s pretty unsettling to have to eat your food while you watch students poking at dead bodies in medical scrubs.
