Lol, smelled something burning a few minutes ago. Shoulda known better, got home and they folded up all of the cheese quesadillas with his Burnside fold it so we wouldn’t see it on every single one! It was a to go order. The manager is very nice there, but he wasn’t there just now. Come on. Unbelievable. Better check the whole order and pick it apart.

Very friendly service! It’s not very often you go to a fast food joint and walk away and think, wow they had really good service! Friendly people and the food was pretty good too, some el pollo locos have dry chicken and stale tostadas, this one it was all fresh except one piece of lettuce was a little brown.

The last time I talked my wife into an El Pollo dinner will be our last. I arrived early, about 5pm, and ordered our take home dinner. The chicken was way over cooked. It may have been reheated from days before. The entire meal was a waste of our money. The TV commercials make it look soooo good. Not so. Not going back. Too much competition.

Order the new signature avocado salad and rice was so hard. Probably won’t be getting this again

I love El Pollo Loco. .but… There is a real disconnect between their ordering system, the person in the window and what comes in the bag. I have been here 5 times in the last 2 months and EVERYTIME I come here, I get stiffed on something whether it is extra tortillas, churros or whatever… I don’t get it… You speak your order,(sometimes) they repeat it back, they give you bugs full of stuff, and its wrong. One a good note, the food is always tasty, filling and good value. I typically get the 3 piece with beans and rice with extra tortillas and extra salsa and its hit or miss of the latter gets in the bag, but the chicken and tortillas go down fast, the beans and rice gets saved for breakfast, mixed in the morning, topped with two sunny side up eggs and a dousing of Cholua and thats a happy day.

If I could give zero stars I would. We’ve ordered three times now and each time they screw up the order. I don’t understand what’s so difficult with completing the order correctly? Their food isn’t THAT good to continually deal with subpar service

I know– fast food is gross, right… wrong. With all of the other options close by, this one has to be the fastest, friendliest, cleanest(kudos for that one) and tastiest around. I have to day I have never had a bad visit here so keep up the good work!

Excellent service! My first time here and Christian and Claudia were beyond accommodating. I had a coupon and instead of giving me «coupon service,» I was treated as a fine diner! Thank you for your outstanding service. Made my choice for dinner easy and pleasant!

It never seems to amaze me how stupid people are. If you go through the drive threw make sure you check you order because they always, always screw it up. There is nothing worse then bringing home food for the family and not getting what you asked for but still paying for it.

I’ve been in many El Pollo Locos but this one in Newbury Park is the worst. The service is horrible. I had two orders of chicken breasts, and have asked them to make sure get me the 2 pieces that even and not too burned because those are for my 2 little kids. When I received the order, one piece was way too tiny and dry just like it’s been on the grill for days. I kindly asked to change that piece for me because I know my son won’t eat it. The manager who said his name is Charlie, basically very rude and told me that’s how the chicken look like and he really sounded like he is giving me a «free» meal so what do I expect. I told him I have ordered this meal for my sons many times at different places and I know how the chicken looks like. He reluctantly changed that piece for me. When I got home, my wife opened up and about to give to my kids but she discovered that the piece Charlie exchanged for me was still raw with blood coming out from that piece, and spreading to the other piece as well(A VIOLATIONOFHEALTH&SAFETYCODE). Luckily she found it otherwise I don’t know what would happen to my kids after eating the raw chicken. My wife called Charlie complained the raw chicken and my kids would get sick if she didn’t notice it. Without an APOLOGY, he just told my wife coming back to get another piece. But, come one, I do not live a couple blocks away plus I don’t have time to drive back there. He is a manager, I am sure he knew the chicken was raw but he still gave it to me to retaliate my request. You know what the chicken all together ended up in the trash can with frustration. My advice: This place is NOT a place to eat: BAD food(either OVER cooked or UNDER cooked), OVER-priced(I forgot to mention above, the manager charged me one dollar more than any El Pollo Loco I have been before) &HORRIBLE service(especially from the low life manager). Save yourself from loosing money for nothing but frustration and unhealthy disgusting food, stay away from this fast food location.

Great food. I usually get the pollo bowls. One thing I notice is that sometimes the beans are not as fresh as other times. They also are sometimes a little skimpy on the chicken in the pollo bowls. Besides a few repeat mistakes such as giving me flour instead of corn tortillas, it’s a good place to eat.

Pretty good. Far from anything gourmet or exciting, but it’s low-priced and tasty chicken. Their combos aren’t anything to get excited about. They aren’t even really a good deal. I usually just order a 4-piece combo(so I can get 2 sides) and then add a few chicken breasts. Then I share the whole thing with my boyfriend. My favorite sides are the Mac n Cheese and the new Fire Roasted Corn. The soup is bland, and the fries are often hard. Ask them for the $ 1 off coupons for the combos. They have a stack of like 200 of them, and hand them out if you ask. Might as well save a buck when you can!

Ronald(the General Manager) of this location is very good with guests. I have purchased family platters that were quick and perfect for an instant party!

I really don’t like the food here — that’s my own personal opinion. I don’t know if it’s better or worse than any other El Pollo Loco. However, the people I have luch with from work seem to regard this as some sort of nirvana, and so we go here on a semi-regular basis.

Though I do like the Chicken at EPL, I hardly think of most EPLs as places that I want any extra time to eat at. I can’t blame them. Order a couple pieces of chicken and you’ll find yourself using your fingers, sopping up drippings on the table, salsa spilling everywhere. As a result, I never think these are the cleanest places, I usually take it to go to eat at home or in the office– where at least I can wash my hands before and after eating. However, this location in Newbury Park is one of the consistently clean EPL’s I have been to. I think it may have been renovated more recently than others, but every time I come in here, the floor is clean, the tables spotless, the workers have smiles on their faces. One downside, is that the regular prices here are higher than other locations. Maybe because it is in TO, the figure they can charge more. Items are upwards of a dollar more than others. Knowing this, there are trade-offs. I would recommend coming to this El Pollo Loco for good chicken and a clean dining experience.
