Nice quiet place. I would differently be back again! Prices are reasonable and our meal was excellent. Can’t wait to come back with the rest of the family. This place is on our list whenever we are in the area. NOTE: We looked up the reviews prior to eating here and we made our decision based on the fact the bad reviews started off naming other restaurants. I am always LEERY of anyone writing a bad review by giving you a name of another restaurant first and boy am I glad I did. We started with a salad, I ordered the house dressing and my husband had blue cheese. When it arrived at our table I noticed it had thin onion crunches on the top,(for lack of a better name). I never saw that before, but it was an excellent touch. They had to be home made as they weren’t high in sodium and the taste was to perfection and blended very nicely with the dressing. I understand it was just a salad, but much to my surprise it was the best, and an excellent start to my meal. And as for the dressing that had to be home made as well, very tasty. After the salad, we had an order of calamari, again perfect, just the way I like it, crunchy on the outside and soft on inside, perfectly cooked. I had Linguine with White Clam Sauce and my husband had Veal Parmesan with Ziti on the side. My dish was excellent, it came with plenty of clams, linguine cooked to perfection and no issues with sand or pieces of clam shells, which means they take the time to clean them properly prior to preparing the dish. My husband loved his Veal Parmesan and the sauce tastes Italian with spices, not like tomato soup. Thank-you Randone’s you’re doing a great job! We also got two cannoli’s to go for my daughter at home and she loved them. Almost forgot, they give you bread and butter prior to the meal and I believe it was Arthur Avenue bread, excellent bread as well.

Figured I would give the pizza here a shot. The crust was extremely thin and not fulfilling. To top that the sauce was horribly bland. The menu states it is the largest pizza in Newburgh. I laughed when I read that upon sitting down to eat with my family. There is no way this is remotely accurate. I usually order from Joe’s Pizza but as this was new years day they were closed and Randones was not. Would have been better off going to pizza Hut. We also ordered their Randone Sampler. They forgot the blue cheese for their super small wings. Chicken tenders were good and so were the mozzarella sticks. I doubt those were made by the restaurant, most likely packaged. I will not be going back to this restaurant again. If they can’t make a good pie, I have no desire to try anything else.

To the owners and staff at Randone’s, please go to Mama Theresa’s in New Windsor and order a roast beef hero. Then come back and explain why yours are so anemic. One slice of roost beef folded to look like two slides. And my side of fries was over cooked and service was on the slow side. I’d give one star but the bite I took of my wife’s lasagna was quite good. But based on my experience two stars is all I can give..

I had a pie delivered to my house, and it took 20 minutes longer than they had said it would(over an hour), and it was basically cold. I called to let them know, and they were nice enough to offer to send another pie. It came much faster, but it was still cold. It didn’t seem like they had it in one of those bags that keep it hot(which I would think would be standard practice, especially in winter), but I live ten minutes away, so I can only imagine the driver had no heat in his car, or he had it in his trunk. So, after reheating it in the oven, I ate it, and was pretty disappointed. The crust was paper thin, and the flavor was pretty blah – overall very disappointing. I appreciate the gesture of sending a replacement pie, but would never call again. No excuse for bad pizza.

Our go-to pizza place whenever we’re in Newburgh — the slices are generous, freshly made and got that NY-style thin-crust goodness. They also offer eggplant toppings which is da bomb! Great flavor with no excess oil or salt.

I have been coming here for a few years now and this restaurant never disappoints. The atmosphere is great and the service is always top notch. Kris, the owner, is always cooking up delicious food and never hesitates to come over and say hello. I’ve tried a variety of the dishes here, and I would definitely recommend the roman salad to start, with the house dressing of course. For entrees, I would recommend the white clam sauce or any pasta dish. If you’re lucky enough to be there on a night when Kris is serving Grandmas famous carrot cake, then you better take advantage of it. Always a great time at Randones.

Absolutely worst service/food I have ever received. The employees looked tired, I had to wait for my meal(take out) as I waited the employees were talking about the customers. I was not very happy about this!!! The food was burnt, no taste at all, was not wrapped correctly(if I didn’t ask for extra wrap my food would have been exposed. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant(if that’s what you want to call this location) at all.

Hidden gem as others have said. My husband and I stop by weekly if not to sit, to take food to go. People in the neighborhood rave about this place. And, I do too. They give you plenty of food for your money.

Randone’s is a solid little place tucked away in the Shopright plaza in Newburgh. While not the best pizza joint in town, it is certainly in the top 5 that I’ve sampled in the 4 years I’ve lived here. Their pizza menu has a wide variety of gourmet pies, and if you like large pies, you’ve come to the right place. They also make some tasty & inventive sandwiches, both hot and cold, which are some of the best around. We’ve yet to sample their entries but plan to investigate that at some point. Just be prepared to wait a bit when you place your order, and make sure you speak clearly when ordering on the phone and it can get hectic in there and they’ve given us the wrong food on a few occasions. Good stuff though.

I recently went in and ordered 2 sandwiches(chicken and veal parms) and a slice to go. I was told it would be about a 15 minute wait. I stayed and waited. 20 minutes came and went without them saying a word to me. Then after about 25 minutes, someone looks at me and says«Did you order yet?» I told him that I was waiting on my 2 sandwiches and slice. 5 minutes later, someone says to me «What were you waiting on again?» So I told him again. Then he walks to the back and grabs my 2 sandwiches and puts them in the oven. Overall, I sat and waited for about 45 minutes for my 2 sandwiches and a slice. The sandwiches were small, about 7 inches. When I’m paying $ 7 for a sandwich and waiting 45 minutes for it, I expect it to be bigger. When I got home, I was told that the sandwiches are normally bigger. My chicken parm was good, but nothing extraordinary. No one complained about the other sandwich or slice. I doubt I’d go back to Randone’s. Green Garden is next door, and I’d never have to wait 45 minutes there. If you want good pizza in Newburgh, check out Villa Italia.

The night we moved in to our apartment in Newburgh we stumbled upon Randone’s. Thinking we were entering a pizza shop in a strip mall, we walked in wearing our«moving clothes» and some paint from the walls we had been working on all day. What we found was a small Italian restaurant/pizza place. We were not dressed for public viewing but we were starving and tired and we didn’t have the strength to find another place to eat. First of all, the décor is terrible and abrasive on the eyes. I think they were trying to transport the customers to Italy but fake stucco walls and orange paint are not the way to go. Since I wasn’t exactly dressed up, I didn’t care too much. Our waitress was very nice and didn’t even look twice at our ragged appearance(bless her). We ordered fried calimari, which to me seemed straight from a bag in the freezer. Not impressed. Next, were the steamed clams which were just right. We ordered a personal pie, shrimp and pesto if I remember correctly, and a side of meatballs. The pie was very greasy and yes I know it was pesto but it was overkill. The meatballs tasted homemade and garlicy so bonus there. Also, the glasses of wine are quite large so there’s that! Since we had a good but not great experience there, we gave it another shot and ordered takeout shortly after. This is where things went wrong. I called the phone number and they answered«Hello?». I thought I had the wrong number. I seemed to be bothering them. It was around noon on a Saturday so I can’t imagine they were that busy. We both ordered calzones. When we got them home they were the strangest things I have ever seen. They were about as long and thin as a loaf of flat French bread and soggy with oil. Barely anything in mine and burned. I couldn’t even eat it. It actually tasted bad. ONEMORETIME I stopped in for a caprese salad. I really wanted a little nice tomatoe, mozzarella, basil action. I got a pile of spinach leaves, some plum tomatoes, and a few slices of mozzarella. So dissapointed :( I don’t think I can give them another chance. Sorry, Randone’s

Let me start this review by echoing something that was said previously by Frank B: Randone’s is a hidden gem. As Shelley mentioned in her post, Randone’s is tucked away in a crappy strip mall where you would certainly not expect to find great Italian food, but there it is, right next to some dollar stare and a really cruddy grocery joint. We were staying in Newburgh and wanted a pizza. After doing a search on Unilocal we found Randone’s and decided to give it a try. One of our quests on this 4 day trip was to try as many NY style pizzas as we could and this one would be our first. When we got to the restaurant and got a menu in our hands my wife and I agreed that the food looked too good to stop at just ordering a pie so we ordered a pizza(large) as an appetizer and proceeded to scan the menu. The pizza came and let me say it was delicious! In fact, of the half dozen pizzas we ate over the four day it was my favorite(the other 5 we tried were all in NYC). A perfectly charred thin crust, just the right amount of sweet yet savory sauce and a great blend of cheeses with a hint of basil. For my main course I ordered the baked ziti with a side of meatballs and all I can say is that it’s was a close rival to my wife’s ziti. The pasta was cooked to a perfect al dente texture, the sauce was sweet and plentiful and the meatballs were as moist and delicious as you could ever want. The order was large enough that I had a good portion the next day for lunch. I need to also mention that the house salad was possibly the best house salad I’ve ever had. The mix of fresh greens, olives and tomato were good, but the deep fried onion strings and creamy balsamic vinaigrette house dressing really set it apart. It was a truly great meal. As for the restaurant itself, it was clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. Once you’re inside you will pretty much forget how cruddy the strip mall is on the outside. Our server on the first visit was great. She was a young blonde girl and I believe her name was Brittney. Regardless, she was and our table a number of times and took very good care of us. Our second trip was for take-out and while the service was a little slower and somewhat less friendly(different server) we were still happy. Randone’s has a very nice and well-priced wine list and excellent dessert choices as well. We had a bottle of Brotherhood merlot which paired nicely with our meal and was about $ 18. I don’t when or if I’ll ever be back in the Newburgh area, but if I am I will definitely make a return visit to Randone’s.

This place is a hidden gem in Newburgh hidden away in a strip mall. I stopped in for just a slice and some garlic knots and left stuffed. The chef has a fun and creative menu, and likes to try out new things with customers. I was sent a dish with steak kebabs in a Spicey sauce that were unbelievable. I didn’t order them, I was just asked for feedback. I have been back a few times and have never left hungry or disappointed. 5 stars all the way.

Good Italian Restaurant in a strip mall. I had the chicken and spinach wrap which was healthy, but lacking taste. Sweet potato fries came with the meal and were quite good. Chicken marsala was decent, but a little too much garlic was added. Good spot if your in the area.

Hey what is this? A fantastic Italian Restaurant tucked next to a Shop Rite in crappy strip mall? You’re daaaamn right! I had lunch at Randone’s and it was great! Very reasonable prices and a friendly staff. I tried their crab, red pepper, and atrichoke wrap and it was awesome! My buddy got 2 slices of pizza and he said it was one of the best slices he has had in recent memory. Definitely try this place out, its a great find in Newburgh! I’ll be back here for sure… hell I gotta try the pizza!
