This restaurant is my boyfriend and I’s guilty pleasure. They are open 24 hours so when you have the late night hunger but refuse to cook they are there to save you! At this point the waitresses know our faces and what we usually order, but everything I have tried has been amazing!!!

It saddens me to have to give this review as my family and I have been patrons of this diner for decades. This morning my mother was having breakfast with a friend(as she has done countless times before) and shortly after leaving realized that she had left her bluetooth device on the table. Not even 10 minutes after leaving the restaurant my mom realized she had left the device and promptly called the restaurant to find out if it had been picked up. Since the device was left visibly on the table, next to the plates, someone – either the waitress or the bus boy – had to have seen the device. My mother called and explained her situation to the individual that answered the phone who proceeded to hang up on her. My mother proceeded to call back and was told that the waitress didn’t see the device because when she returned to the table it had been cleaned off. My mother then knew it had to be the bus boy who noticed the bluetooth. By that point she had driven back to the diner and requested to speak with the bus boy who upon speaking with my mother couldn’t look her in the face and claimed to not have seen the device. My mother is disheartened, to say the least. While dining at the restaurant she noted that the only individuals in the vicinity were an older couple adjacent to her and a group of older business women seated a few tables away. In order for either of those parties to observe and take the device they would have to literally walk to and sit at the table which is quite hard to believe. Now this is not the first time someone I know has left something at the diner, however this is the first time that the item has not been recovered and the customer service has been so terrible. No one offered any support, no manager came to speak with my mother and the bus boy and there was no resolution aside from the diner losing life-long customers. My mother, my family and I will no longer be patrons of this diner and I will be encouraging my many friends and colleagues to do so with caution out of fear of further acts of thievery. Proceed with caution to this location.

Went with my family on Memorial Day at noon. Very busy but seated within 15 minutes. Waitress was humorous and delightful. Food was totally satisfactory and about typical diner quality(above average).

Food is real good here… Nice big portions… prices have went up recently… I won’t go in late Friday, late Saturday night, sometimes rowdy crowd late weekends, but consistently good to very good food

We stopped in one night after 11pm and the service was okay, the food comes out of the kitchen quick. My wife and I both had breakfast and the food was good for diner food. Our server was a little disinterested, but no horror story like other reviews

For a large and busy Diner, I like the fact that you are greeted with a warm smile when you walk in. The menu is huge and all the cakes look fresh and bakery style. The portions are good and everything seems to be freshly cooked. The inside is clean and well maintained. Worth thte trip

Read a lot of horrifying reviews here. I’ll make mine quick. I usually don’t even review diners. Came in late with a family of 6. Had to wait to be seated, not too long. Ordered regular diner food… off the menu!(other touchy Unilocalers) It all came incredibly quick and perfect. My experience was fine. As for other Unilocaler’s whiney reviews… pissed over a lemon wedge? bread crumbs, no bread crumbs on a chicken parm I don’t even know what fradiavio is… Order right off the menu, you bunch of quacks. Clearly, judging from the reviews, this diner does not treat the«Meg Ryan» special order customer well. Its a diner… A DINER. weirdos. Keep it simple. Ladies and Gentlemen… That’s my time.

They charge extra for a wedge of lemon in your water. 25 cents per wedge. They lost my business. Cheap people lose my business.

Loved this place. It was my first time coming and the service & food was fantastic. The strawberry cheesecake was amazing. Pricey, but definitely a bigger portion than anyone else offers. Will be coming back for breakfast soon.

This place is awesome! First of all, it’s huge! Second, as soon as you walk in you’re greeted by glass cases of yumminess… chocolate items and pastries and etc that are all baked on premises. I got a pastrami sandwich, which I had not had in years. I was expecting your normal, thin and stringy deli-type pastrami. It was not that at all… it was fresh, thick, lean, and SO tasty. I don’t get the typical rye/Swiss either, I get cheddar, mayo, onion, and wheat…(see pic) and they did it perfectly. Even the fries are so amazing! We were with a large party and everyone’s was amazing! Huge portions, and great coffee! I’ll be back for sure!

Unbelievable. Ordered two chicken parms. one with no bread crumbs and fradiavlo to give it a little spicy kick, nothing more then a bit of crushed red pepper added to the sauce. They wanted to add an additional $ 4.50 to the regular price of $ 15.00. I order this all the time there, and everywhere else I eat and chicken parms is available, who’d ever think to charge $ 4.50 extra for a teaspoon of crushed pepper??? I guess they have magic crushed pepper and costs them a fortune!!! You’ve lost at least 7 regulars . Plus side. Waitress was awesome. Manager was not awesome…

I’ve been to the Alexis Diner over the course of the last 6 years and my experience has always been consistent. The staff is super friendly and my water glass is never empty. As far as food goes their matzo ball soup is probably the best thing they make on the huge menu. Everything else is pretty standard diner fare and you’ll walk away very fully as the portions are large. I recommend grabbing a slice of the strawberry cheesecake on your way out– it’s amazing.

GOTOTHEVALLEYDINER five minutes north on 9w INSTEAD, the food is much better(less grease), the staff is nice as can be and the burgers are amazing! WONTEVERGOAGAIN!!! Went to Alexis Diner for a salad, ordered a small greek with steak. Waitress came back out to the table after she took the menu and told me it would be 12.99 to get a large with steak which was the«best deal» and the«cheapest option» with steak. Then they charged me $ 18.00 for the salad. Bait and switch? At a diner? WTF? When I called in the next day they said if we came in then they would«take care of it». So we went for breakfast, spent more money, ate more crappy food. When we went to the counter he said I would have to come back after 7 pm to speak to the same manager who was on duty when I went there the night before. Charged me full price and no refund. Again… Bait and switch? Is this a used car dealership? Then he told me it was my fault for not looking at the check before I left. The initial incident was late on a Friday and I had just gotten off a 9 hour shift — I did notice it that night but didn’t want to deal with it and since I WAS A REGULAR I thought I’d just call the next day. Bottom line, salad was awful — had a cocktail, also awful — used to be thrilled by this place, now I hate it, food — service — everything. I leave with a stomach ache every time — NEVERAGAIN! I’m reporting them to the health inspector for my troubles. Enjoy that shit-sandwich Alexis Diner!

The food is OK. Nothing special for diner food. The staff is rude. A specific incident: We were waiting on a line of about 15 people to be seated. A family came in the door, walked in front of the whole line and said they wanted to be seated, and they were sat, essentially cutting the whole line of people. When it was our turn to be seated, my mom politely asked if that family had a reservation because we had been waiting. The guy said«if that’s the worst thing that happens to you today be glad you’re not there» and pointed to the front page of the newspaper, where the story showed a shooting killing multiple people. It ruined our family breakfast. My brother is currently serving overseas and it upset my mom so much she could not eat her food. It was bad customer service, it was rude, and uncalled for. That one incident aside, Alexis diner is a good«late night» place to go when you have no other options or you are a teenager with your friends and you can’t decide whether you want pancakes or french fries. Overpriced. I have been going here my whole life, and after that incident, I will not return. It’s not worth it, there are too many other good places to eat in the area.

What is up with that« Unilocal Likes Us» sticker on the door? There should be a Unilocal team set up to remove stickers after real reviews and ratings catch up to a sub-par establishment. The exterior is like that of a typical diner, shiny. The interior is like that of a typical diner, but old school. Not old school in the cute, retro way; old school in the dated way. Whatevs, we ordered our food to go. There were four of us: two who have been there before and two first timers. I was one of the first timers. I ordered a pastrami Reuben. Simple enough, right? It was absolutely disgusting! My rye bread was completely soggy. I’ll let that one somewhat pass since we took our food to go. The pastrami tasted old, was overcooked, and extremely dry. It was obviously reheated on the griddle and not fresh. The cheese was hardened and rubbery, also from the griddle. The sauerkraut was bland and soggy. The coleslaw was bland and soggy. The pickle was bland and salty. There was not a single thing good about this meal. NOT A SINGLETHING! The other first timer ordered a Philly Cheesesteak. He wanted it on a hero, like a typical Philly Cheesesteak. The menu said it would be on a roll. He went back-and-forth with the person taking on order to see how we can get it on a hero instead. It was frustrating to watch. The guy was not clear in the way he answered questions and in the end, pointed to a hero-like photo, saying it would come like that. Okay… so we ordered it. The Philly Cheesesteak came in an open-faced sandwich on a flat, round roll. Read that last sentence again and tell me how that sounds? The meat, again, was dry, tasted awkward, and bland. Neither one of us could finish our food, nor did we want to save any of it, and we’re a pair of gluttons! The only thing saving this place from a one star review are the two other people we came with. They liked(not loved) their orders because they’ve been there before and«knew what to order.» If I have to «know what to order» when going to a restaurant, since I don’t know, I won’t go! GROSS!

Was here late night on a recent visit. And had a very nice experience. Located right off exit 10 on I-84, it doesn’t look like much from outside. But its very spacious inside with several dining areas. The menu is just as large, and you can easily catch a case of information overload. We started off by creating our own snack platter: zucchni sticks, fried ravioli, jalapeño poppers with cream cheese, and potato skins– it was very filling! I had the tuna melt on rye with provolone. Not a huge fan of mayo but this was balanced well and made just right. Came with plenty of waffle fries, dare I say– maybe even too many? She had gotten the philly cheese-steak, and was very happy with not only the portion size but how tasty it was. From chocolates, to cakes, to pastry specialties– they have a huge assortment of dessert. All baking is done on the premises too. Well-maintained, the service was exceptional and prices are reasonable. Open 24 hours, I’ll be sure to stop in next time I’m around.
