Recently, I logged onto Unilocal to double-check the address of this place, and i was sooooooo sad to see the review by Jenny(from 6÷24÷2014). GOODNEWS! The place *is* still there, and it is actually better than ever. In fact, after getting another delicious lassi at this gas station, i am now starting to think that Jenny(the author of the 6÷24÷2014 review) probably wound up at the wrong spot somehow. If you are looking for a fresh and wholesome meal in the bleak wasteland that is the Needles Freeway(CA Interstate 40), this *gas* *station* is a surreal and wonderful oasis. There was a heated display case holding samosas for grab-n-go food convenience. We did not get samosas, but i thought it would have been a good choice if we were really rushed to get back on the highway. We ordered gobhi paratha(a naan-like break with cauliflower and green onion embedded in the dough). It was very tasty. Somebody in our group was one of those old-fashioned red-blooded American meat-and-potatoes guys, and he *never* plays the part of foodie, and even he said: «this is seriously tasty bread.» The cooks were punjabi. Several of the long-haul truckers outside were as well. Most fans of ethnic foods will tell you to go sample the cuisine at the restaurants where the actual ethnic community goes to eat. This place fits the bill! Go get a cold lassi and some grub!

Do not seek the treasure. Whatever gas station this was when the previous reviews were left, it is no longer that station whatsoever. I wish I had felt safe enough to take a picture because a written description can not possibly do it justice. Please just no.

We decided to stop for gas before we’d make it to Barstow, and we found ourselves here. There was a new-ish sign that said«Indian food» at the freeway exit, and it turns out they have a restaurant inside the gas station. Oddly enough, they didn’t have any Indian food listed on their menus, but we asked if they could make a mango lassi, and they said«sure». We ordered a large, paid something like $ 6, and received around a half gallon of freshly-made, delicious, ice cold lassi. If you’re on the 40 and need a good place to stop for a bit, go here. These people are awesome.
