Had this BBQ at hardly strictly bluegrass in SF’s Golden Gate Park and was BLOWNAWAY. This would be the best BBQ in SF. They should open a brick and mortar here. Delicious and perfect sauces, meats, and beans. I’m going to figure a way to bring em down.

I happened across these guys at the Hardly-Strictly Bluegrass Festival in San Francisco last weekend. It was only 10:40 in the morning, so they weren’t quite ready for the lunch crowd, but Tony shouted from the grills that he’d get some pulled pork ready for a sandwich. A minute or two later I was cheeks deep into my pork combo platter, and it was GOOD! While my friends gushed over their fancy-pants Indian food at dinner that night, I knew that my first meal of the day was unquestionably the best meal of the day. Big ups to Big Tony and crew, and I hope they come back to HSB next year!!!

The pulled pork is heaven in a bun. It doesn’t get any better than this.

This is the best pulled pork sandwich I EVER had! Try it with the spicy sauce and the wasabi cole slaw! Not too much kick but loads of flavor! Plus they LOAD the sandwich down, you will need a lot of napkins and fork to start work on the thing!

I’ve enjoyed the tasty BBQ from Tony on many occasions. The portions are large, the ingredients are fresh, and the taste is superb. We all have a friend who has shelves and shelves of different sauces available when you come over to their house. A «sauce connoisseur» so to say. Well, you can sleep soundly at night in your Big Tony Brown t-shirt, knowing that you have the one and only sauce you need… The Big Sexy Sauce. Like other reviewers have stated, it isn’t so hot that your face melts off. It is just the right amount, which is a large part of the secret, to making a great sauce. San Francisco was fortunate enough to have Big Tony & his crew in town for our highly popular & successful bluegrass festival. The menu selections rotated a bit every day, which made for a great reason to eat BBQ every day! Always something new to try, from ribs to slaw, sandwiches to plates. I’d recommend Big Tony Brown BBQ to friends and strangers without hesitation. And make sure to grab an extra bottle of that sauce, son!

Big Tony’s Pork Bowl is the truth! It’s got layers of flavors and textures. I could eat any component by itself: the beans, sausage, pork shoulder and the coleslaw, but the combination is amazing. I crave Tony’s food!

The sauces are fabulous, especially The Spicy Sauce. It isn’t really hot — believe me, I can’t tolerate hot & spicy things much — but it is very flavorful! Better yet, if you can find Big Tony Brown actually serving up his food at an event, that’s an even bigger treat! I found him at the Lake Oswego Farmer’s Market(OR) over the summer and had the pulled pork sandwich w/The Spicy Sauce and wasabi slaw. It was too much for me to eat, but I stuffed every bite down because it was sooo good. I couldn’t let any of it go to waste. I’m glad I bought a bunch of bottles of the sauce, because I live up in Washington state. My pulled pork isn’t nearly as good as Big Tony’s, but the sauce makes it fairly close.
