I’m giving this place a 5 star and if it was possible I would give them more, very low key brunch restaurant with many delicious options very diverse and more than anything awesome service. The plates we had to eat had a splash of that home made feel.

Not bad! Right across from Newpark Mall. Decent breakfast food for good prices. Servers are friendly. Got the crab cake benedicts. The crab cake was just ok, kind of burnt, but their sauce ontop of it is delicious! They also have this special spicy sauce they provide, and its pretty good and compliments their food well. I usually have tobacco but this sauce is another good option to try. They have a wide variety of dishes you can choose from which is great. Something for breakfast, brunch, and lunch.

Have a chance to come check this place out. Although the set up of this place is very home like, I expected the food to be a little better. My girlfriend and I came to check this place out on a Tuesday morning for their breakfast. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by their employee. We both order our food and see that the environment of this place is really nice and feel like you are in your grandmother house waiting for breakfast. lol When the food came, we were both a tad disappointed on the small portion that they serve. Maybe we just spoiled by the portion from country way. LOL Anyway, food was okay. fast service and decent price. I’ll come check place out for their brunch next time.

The Food was extremely good. I asked to add fresh bananas & blueberries to my Pancakes .no problem. just amazing, we also shared the Crab Cakes Benedict and loved it. I went to this place and it had very good food, with a good taste i tried the crab cake, and my husband had the carribean french toast and it was very delicioius, with great service the workers had a smile on their face all the time. Price for the food is resonable. I recommend you guys to visit this place.

Not really sure why this place has such good reviews, but I was not a fan of this place. I’m glad to see a bunch of new brunch places popping up all around fremont, but this one hit the mark. Overall, I just felt like this place was dirty and the staff was a little rude/pushy. I actually came here for mothers day and my mom ending up getting a stomach ache after eating here :( We ordered the custom scramble and a breakfast quesadilla. Both were very subpar and nothing stood out. If possible, I would definitely skip this place!

Came across this spot while exploring Newark(I’m fairly new to the region), and I’m glad that I found it. The service was excellent; the servers were attentive and courteous. I ordered my eggs over and medium and they were perfect! At other places, they often over cook them. I also decided to try their featured French toast, which was stuffed with blueberry cream cheese and topped with peaches and strawberries. It was a sizable portion, so I ended up taking most of it home. I’m giving them five stars because the food was good, the venue clean, and the atmosphere relaxing. The only setback is that the prices are a little higher than other places close by. Nonetheless, the overall feel of the space and the delicious quality of service make this a great pick!

IMO, this is one of the best breakfast places the east bay has to offer between Fremont and San Leandro. Good food, phenomenal service. Fresh ingredients, good coffee, no line on a Sunday at 10:30! Loved it. I had the 3 egg omelette with the home potatoes and my gf had the steak fajita omelette, both were really good. I really appreciated how fresh the food tasted, well seasoned, we cleaned our plates. A lot of people throw 4 stars at subpar food restaurants. I’m not saying this food contends with the best in the Bay, but most places around here serve food that’s not any better than what you can cook yourself, often it’s much worse. You will definitely leave here satisfied. I will definitely be back.

WAAAAAAAKEUPMURRRRRICA! This is a great breakfast spot! I came here with my friend early on a Thursday morning. Place reminds me of a breakfast café you would see on television. We were warmly greeted & seated right away. Lots of choices! Breakfast, lunch & dinner options. But of course, I opted for breakfast. I decided to order the crab cake Benedicts & my friend order the crab omelette. We shared so I was able to try both! Each dish was $ 10.99& came along with sides. My plate came with house potatoes & fruit. My friend’s came along with house potatoes & toast. Crab omelette: delicious! There was chopped avocados inside the omelette. A fun new twist to your food! Crab cake Benedict: omg. Seriously THEBEST I’ve had! I love the hollendaise(spelling? Lol) on top. It has a bit of a kick to it! The egg yolk mixed in, HEAVEN! Overall, a great experience close to my office!

Wake Up America is located right across from NewPark mall, the restaurant is average sized, but seating seemed a bit cramped on the sides of the restaurant(the back of my seat touched the back of the seat, of someone sitting at the table behind me.) Since we went on a Thursday lunch time, we were able to be seated right away with no wait. We took a few minutes to study the menu and our waiter was polite and helpful as he took our orders. The food: — Salmon Benedict: This was pretty good! It was a plus for me that the salmon was cooked(not like lox), and was very flavorful. The runny egg yolk blended with their hollandaise sauce, in combination with bites of savory/salty salmon were just too good. This dish came with a small bowl of fruits and an okay portion of potatoes. I wish they had given me the option of hash browns because I think I would have preferred that. — Eggs, sausage, hash browns, toast: I only tried some of this… For diner brunch/breakfast, this satisfy the cravings but it wasn’t anything really to write home about. I liked the grilled sausage, but the hashbrowns weren’t crispy enough in my opinion. Overall, seemed like something I could make at home. The service was pretty good for our first visit here, but the food came out a bit on the slower side. Another thing I liked about dining here was that the food felt on the lighter side and it didn’t feel like I was consuming buckets of oil along with my food. I’ll definitely go back to try other dishes sometime.

Wake Up America is simple and straightforward. I got a smoked salmon benedict and the bf got a bacon cheese burger. Very hearty and straightforward stuff. Nothing fancy, but when simplicity is done right, it’s delicious! A great place for a quick bite. You cant really go wrong here. The staff is nice and friendly and get everything done quickly and the place is pretty clean.

The fourth star is for being charming and being an independent small business. Another good option doing diner fare, in an area already rich with diners. The Plus side: –It is new so it is pretty clean and always a table to be had. I remember the days of waiting in line for breakfast in this area. Not no more. –The food seems nice and fresh. And they are very light in oil usage so no grease slicks on your plate. That is not the case with most other diners in town. –Very sensible portioning. It almost looks like they are skimping, but I always finish my plate with a satisfied tummy. There will be no potatoes going to waste, not like Country Way just down the way. I like their Smoked Salmon Benedict($ 12) as it is quite light. Their muffin is soft and light. Just enough salmon to make a presence, even though it is the thoroughly cooked smoked salmon versus the cold smoked/lox version. And their hollandaise is super light and just ties everything together. My friend didn’t care for his Pastrami Reuben. Though looking okay with the rye bread and sauerkraut, the pastrami was described as «odd». And by glancing at it, it was no pastrami I’d want to eat. Steak and Eggs($ 13) are super basic but that is not really a bad thing. Thin NY Strip, fresh eggs, and decent hashbrowns. It is so basic, I thought it would be silly to even take a pic of it. It looked like any steak n eggs, at any diner, you would find in any city, USA. I didn’t really care for their country potatoes though, as it is not really crisp, and has a taste of deep fry shortening. But the onions and peppers that they mix in, kinda saves it. But I think I’ll stick with their basic hashbrown here. They close around 4pmish, so they aren’t trying to do any form of dinner service. I guess they are really committed to their name, «Wake up America». Though sometimes that may be around noon to me.

My boyfriend suggested we eat here after doing a DoorDash delivery here a few weeks ago. This cute little breakfast spot is located right next to New Park Mall in an office building looking type thing. Décor on the inside was definitely inviting and comforting, the service was awesome! Our server constantly checked up on us, and made sure we were very well taken care of. We came at around 11AM, so just in time for brunch. It was the Monday after the Super Bowl, so it was pretty empty. I think one or two other patrons in there before us. Anyway, since it was brunch my boyfriend ordered the Smoked Salmon Benedict and I ordered the Crab Cake Benedict. I can’t tell you too much about the Smoked Salmon since my boyfriend scarfed it up before I could get a bite, but it’s safe to say it must have been good due to the fact he didn’t say a word his entire meal! As for the Crab Cake Benedict, I really wasn’t expecting too much since I have my preferences for crab cakes, however what sold me to this was the Spicy Hollandaise. It really gave it a nice kick, and I’m a fan of spicy foods so this did it for me! Crab cakes were cooked just right, and the eggs were poached PERFECTLY. Some places have them too runny or cooked too much, but this one was literally JUSTRIGHT. I really love how they serve fresh fruit on the side as well :) Pricing is average compared to other breakfast spots, which is fine. I wasn’t expecting anything super cheap or anything like that. Am I likely to recommend? YES I AM. Reason for the 4 stars: I could really see them in a much better location. I’m really hoping they can find a way to relocate. They DESERVE a much better location where more people can find them.

I really wanted to like this place. This general location of Newark has a large shortage of good eats around. When we first came in, we were greeted immediately. The server/host was very friendly and helpful. And if I were just rating the service, I would probably give all five stars. The problem lies within three areas, which reduced a star each: 1. The prices are a bit higher than their competitors who also provide breakfast alternatives. 2. The food take a very long time to come out, despite only being the third party in the location. Took about 20 minutes which is a bit much… 3. The items we ordered was not very good. I ordered the crab cakes benedict, and their home made crab cakes have a very fishy taste to it, and their chipotle hollandaise was very awkward tasting. My friend and I didn’t even finish our plates. Overall, I wish them he best of luck. But unless the above problems are addressed, I’m not likely coming back.

Family and I were looking for a new place to eat around home and this place showed up. Its a new little corner place by Newpark Mall. Very friendly staff and good service and nice size portions for a good value. We’ve only come twice in 3 weeks and the staff recognized us haha. I love calamari and this place serves it lightly breaded with also fried onions and peppers! Pretty good amount for just $ 6. I had the coconut/glazed banana Caribbean french toast. It was hearty and good. If you had to choose something to try first though, the crab omelette is probably what you should pick first. It has a pretty good amount of crab for $ 11. The rest of my family ordered that. I have tried the crab cake bendedict. Its good with the chipotle hollandaise sauce. However, if you were aiming for crab, I would go with the crab omelette above. Definitely a breakfast/brunch place we will frequent.

I unexpectedly found myself really liking this place despite its odd location. You can find this little nugget at the base of an office building across the parking lot from New Park Mall, a few steps away from McDonald’s. I had imagined it was like a cheekier version of a Red Robin or Denny’s type of restaurant but it’s not a chain. Awesome! There are probably around 10 – 15 tables inside. While I was there there were small parties of 2 and a really big party of about 12 – 14. Large enough where no one had to sit on anyone else’s laps. Nice! I got a scramble with several veggies and sausage. It came with homemade potatoes and toast. All the veggie ingredients were super fresh! As fresh as if I had cut them myself and made the scramble at home. An additional highlight was this hot sauce at the table. I read in someone else’s Unilocal review that it’s a hot sauce the owner’s wife makes. Wow! It was seriously delicious and a great condiment to my scramble and potatoes! Wish I could have taken some home. Another highlight is that my iced tea came with crushed ice. I LOVE crushed ice in my bevvies! Service was quick and attentive. No one rushed us even when it looked like the tables were filling up. What would be really cool is if this café could relocate to the new downtown Fremont after it’s built. Seems like it could really grow into being a wonderful breakfast/brunch gem to our city. One added suggestion is to «pretty up» the place with a bit of thoughtful style. It will really charm up the space and make it more welcoming. They also serve burgers, salads, etc. Coming back…

Cute breakfast place! It recently opened so I took my girl friends to go try it out for brunch. The service was excellent. We were seated by the windows and they saw us squinting against the sun and they immediately came over to offer us a different table. I ordered their wake up burger, it was delicious. It had avocado and onion strings on it. It was HUGE I could barely finish half of it AND it came with a side of fries. I really enjoyed my burger. My friends both got an omelette, one with crab and avocado, and one personalized one. The avocado in that omelette was so fresh and green it added such a nice creamy texture to the omelette. They also gave a pretty decent portion of the crab inside the omelette. The egg was cooked perfectly. Their house potatoes were really nicely cooked in my opinion, they came with the omelette. The waiter and waitress constantly came to check in on us to make sure everything was okay. Apparently the restaurant was only 5 weeks old! I’ll definitely be returning to this place!

A breakfast joint in Newark? :O I’m so surprised and happy! Newark is stepping it up. It’s about time they opened up a solid American-style breakfast restaurant. I came here for brunch on a Sunday and there was no wait(luckily) and we were seated quickly. First thing I noticed were the outlets on the wall and the pink ceilings. Nevertheless, I ordered crab benedict and the special of the day: stuffed french toast with caramelized blueberries and strawberries. Honestly, the wait was quite long. It took a while for the water and food to arrive and no one came to our table to give us our check(they did swing by to see if we enjoyed our meal though). But, they’re still new and they do make impressive breakfasts, and to me, the quality of the food holds the most importance. The french toast was amazing, but the portions seemed small(I devoured it with lightning speed). I love how the blueberries and strawberries were served hot(like off-the-stove-hot), which means they really make it fresh for you when you order it. I’m excited to come back to try more items on their menu. I honestly can’t stop thinking about their stuffed french toast and it saddens me that it’s not actually on their menu haha. I’m really excited that there’s a good breakfast place in this area. Other neighboring breakfast spots have ridiculously long wait times, and who wants to wait 2 hours for breakfast? Also, it’s right across from NewPark Mall, which should be opening a new AMC theater very soon! YAY!
