Salsa Hair Cuts

I’ve been coming here for the last two years. Ivan is the barber. As a matter of fact, I think he’s the only barber. In all the times I’ve come here I’ve never seen anyone else working there. He’s a good enough barber. My biggest complaint is that he talks way too much. I’ll give an example. The last time I was there he had a friend sitting in a chair. While I was paying for Ivan’s time for a cut, he stopped working twice to go over and see what his friend was looking at in his smartphone. I’m not saying he stopped for a couple of seconds but for as much as five minutes each time. My time is important as well as yours. I’m paying you for your time. You’re job is to pay attention to your customers. Another complaint. While the cut cost $ 12, I gave him a $ 20. He only gave me back $ 5. Saying he didn’t have any other change. So in other words. He determined his own tip. Major turn off. Not sure I’ll be back.

Went into this place not expecting much, left here with a great go-​to barber in the North Ironbound area
Ivan is the owner and lead barber at Salsa and he knows hair. He’s most fluent in Spanish but knows English pretty well. Will let you know what looks best, on you and implement that idea. Was definitely pleased and for $ 12, the cut and straight-​edge shave is well worth it!
Good interior, plenty of chairs if it gets busy.
