Rutgers the State University of New Jersey

Campus is pretty small. Campus food court in the student center has slow and lazy staff and bad food. They did just install Jamba Juice machines this semester so I guess that would be one good thing. There is not much food selection within the area either. Since it is in Newark, it’s not the safest campus. I get crime alert emails from the University all the time, including a recent incident with a student getting stabbed at the library. They have increased security at the library in the aftermath of the incident but what about the rest of campus? The only security guards I see are at the student center and library. I have also seen homeless people wandering the student center on occasion. Some of the classrooms are pretty outdated. They should also get better professors. Parking in the parking garages is always a nightmare which is disappointing considering how much I’m paying to park there. There have been times where I just had to turn around and go home because there was absolutely no parking in the 3 parking garages.

Argggggg in case anyone else wondering… If your taking a class on campus but not a student at Rutgers you can use the library… But also you can use the law library… It’s open to the public

I don’t really care for this campus at all I feel that the New Brunswick campus is way better and more accommodating. And I’m not just speaking off of bias cause I went to Rutgers New Brunswick lol but I’ve never been impressed with this campus since high school. There are a lot of improvements that need to be made as a heighten in security. The amount of robberies and attacks that happen on campus are insane and I worry about my cousin. I’ve attended some workshops at this campus for my previous employer and that was a pleasant experience.

Yesterday as I was flying back to Jersey from Texas, I caught a glimpse of a big white bump on the ground and realized it was the «practice bubble.» As I looked at the stadium, then RAC, river dorms, and other landmarks that you can discern from however many thousand feet in the air, I definitely got a little teary and more than a little nostalgic. The education that I received at Rutgers was absolutely top-​notch. Sure, there are ways that you can just skate your way through since it’s such a large university, but if you put time and effort into selecting your courses/​professors and building relationships, you can have an absolutely amazing educational experience. I also met some of the most amazing people I have ever encountered «on the banks.» Were my four years here flawless? Absolutely not. But I wouldn’t give up those four years for ANYTHING and would highly recommend Rutgers to anyone who wants to work hard, play hard, and have a truly unforgettable college experience.

I really like Rutgers University-​Newark because it has a lot of the aspects of a university that is in an urban environment while still keeping a low profile and making all of its students feel like a family.
When looking from the outside, many of the buildings still look like they did when they were built in the 1960’s, but once you walk inside the buildings, you are suddenly brought right back to the 21^st century. Constant upgrade and refurbishment have kept these historic buildings up to date and technological as they should be.
With Rutgers adding newer buildings for law and criminal justice, the juxtaposition of old and new is indeed a pleasant one. On one side of University Avenue there is history already written and on the other there is history being made.
Although some of the retraction include traffic problems, occasional issues with cleanliness, occasional crime and other problems you may think would face with a college campus that hosts thousands of students, the campus is in amazing condition and welcomes people with open arms.

I am proud to be an alumni of RU.
I gained a fine and challenging learning experience during my four years as a college student. A good portion of the courses that I took here (both inside and outside of my major) were really interesting!
The health fairs, as well as other events that had free giveaways were fun to attend, and I was really happy to meet new people during my time here.
Of course, graduation was my best memory, since it showed how much effort a lot of us put into our coursework in favor of our BA and BS degrees.

I love school because I want to learn and get educated and in this school. I feel like learning and getting the best education… I’m so proud that I’m a Rutgers business school student

Maybe it’s the sentimental value attached to it, but RU has not let me down. As a senior in college, I can honestly say I have had some of the most unforgettable learning experiences.
Yes there is bureaucracy and at times some inefficiency and slowness – as slow as the financial aid and conselor office can be but the yearning for knowledge this school and its staff have planted in my heart will surely last a lifetime.
