Pathmark

Came from a dental appt at UMDNJ, and wanted to grab something real quick before returning home. I believe the last time I went to this Pathmark was when I was in elementary school and I spent the summer at my cousin house not to far away. Anyway, store was fine. Not too crowded, parking lot looked a little sketchy. Alot of hospital staff since they are right across the street but they are always in groups I guess for safety. Lanes could be better organized, it is definitely a third world mom and pop store in comparison to my Shoprite. But it was in and out in reasonable time.

I drove here on the night before Thanksgiving to grab some last minute things. While I was inside, my car was hit in the parking lot. I didn’t see the damage until the next morning.
If I can get the person that hit me, I can save myself a lot of money since their insurance would be the one on the hook for my expenses. So I went to this Pathmark today in hopes of looking at the security tape. I went to customer service where a young lady told me that they probably didn’t have cameras in the parking lot but I told her my car was hit and I’d appreciate it if she could ask a manager. She did and I was told that a man would be coming to help me in a little bit. I stood there waiting by customer service for 30 minutes. Then security called the customer service associate to have her ask me around what time this happened and what kind of car I have. I told her and she passed the info to the man on the other end of the phone. 10 minutes later, she was on the phone again and told me «He says it was too dark that night to see if anyone hit your car.»
They could have just told me that their cameras are useless after sun down before I waited there for 40 minutes. The security person didn’t even speak to me personally so he had no idea what the situation was or where my car was even parked in the lot. I think that the people that run this store are incompetent and a few of the customers are degenerates and because of that, they have cost me thousands of dollars. Needless to say, I won’t be shopping here ever again.

Yet another reason why I hate shopping in the hood this place is the essence of ghetto if it wasn’t across the street from the job I wouldn’t waste my time. It is a small store so it has a limited selection. The inside has a dingy look to it. Bums outside to hassle you for your money. The employees talk like they’re on a street corner kickin it with their friends cursing and carrying on. They talk to customers in the same manner. Definitely on the bottom of my list for supermarkets the one on Lyons Ave is not much better. But I guess since the people in the area feel this is acceptable things will never get any better.

I regret stepping into this disgusting store. The fruits are rotten, employees are more rotten, they barely keep the place clean or enough food on shelves. The area is very dangerous and unwelcoming. I don’t understand why this branch didn’t close. It should be torn down, that’s how bad this place is.
