This restaurant has a serious problem with homeless people loitering in the dinning area taking up tables and seats. I found a spot to sit down and eat my meal only to be surrounded by 3 homeless people(HP) asking for money and asking me if I was going to finish that, pointed to my food that I had not started on yet. After confirming I was going to eat my meal 2 of the HP’s walked off and started in on another patron, while 1 remained staring at me as I tried to eat. Finally out of disgust and frustration with the store management to allow this to happen, I walked off leaving an unfinished meal only to be scooped up by the HP. Bottom line this is not a place you want to eat at.

i really dont care for this particular location as every time yoy try to relax and eat you have a pandhandler actually walk up to where u r sitting and the gimmmies or do you haves start about the only thing ill but is a drink on my way home from where ever i happen to be and then i get it to go. all though they enlarged it and its bigger i feel the seating is too small especially if you are heavy. i really dont like to pull out my wallet at penn station as i dont feel safe. i would get my order to go. but i dont want to have to eat it in the subway area so i dont go here much.

Well managed restaurant: clean shop, quick food delivery, properly made food, accurate orders, polite staff. A bright spot at Penn Station.

Only getting 2 stars because of the extremely fast service. I pass by this Mcdonalds every morning when i take the light rail. HUGEHUGE issue is the amount of homless people who loiter out front and inside the store. At least 3 out of 5 times going in here you will have a bum begging you for money. What really ticked me off is that some of these bums are quite persistent. I once had my headphones on while waiting for my order. Was approached by a bum but i made it clear i was ignoring him. he put his hands on me and made me take off my headphones to ask for change. It is a shame that management has allowed so many homless to loiter and solicit money inside this business. It is not that i do not have any compassion but on a sainitary note: does anyone really want homless flooding a place where you buy food? WOULDYOULIKE A SIDEOFHOMELESSASKINGYOUFORCHANGE?

I clarify, I meant 5 stars if you’re a bum but 1 star for everyone else. Today I was in there for like, 3 minutes and during that period 2 different bums came up and asked me for money. Each of these 2 bums went up to every single customer in the restaurant and asked for money, not at all afraid of being told to leave. The bums know they can’t ask people for money anywhere else in Penn Station but McDonalds is a bum-friendly environment. I spoke to the manager but he just said there’s nothing we can do about it. The one bum who was there was a very aggressive bum and would not take no for an answer and some of the customers were kind of uneasy particularly one young lady who was by herself. It’s disturbing to know that McDonalds cares so little about my safety and enjoyment. They need to put someone out there in the dining room who will tell the bums to get the heck out.

Sure the food is average and sure some of the food is overpriced beyond hell however, this is one of the fastest Mcdonalds I have ever seen in my life. You order something and in about 5 second the food is already out.

This place is just ok my one gripe is they charge more for their food than in Manhattan. WTF! Hash brown and sausage mcmuffin no egg at 34th st. Penn station is $ 2.92 and $ 4.56 at Newark Penn.

This McDonald’s was renovated last summer. Now it’s twice as big. On one side, it’s the restaurant, where you can order a meal and sit and eat. It’s average. The downside is there are often homeless people sitting inside or asking for money. I have no problem with homeless people finding ways to get money or food. But it was hard to enjoy my meal while one of them is sitting near me. Plus, I feels this McDonald’s charge more than other McDonld’s. One the other side, it’s McDonald’s café. They serve smoothies, coffee, ice tea, cappuccino, etc. I like the café, because you don’t have to wait a long line just to order smoothie. There’s no seating area in the café. You have to order, get your drink and go the restaurant to sit.

After a night of drinking/happy hour I usually stop in for a cone to settle my tummy if the train is not leaving track 5 yet. Thank God and Ice cube for cops in the the actual place or I’d be in bums fights again

This McDonald’s just reopened after being closed for a few months for renovations. I’m happy to say that they made a great improvement. The service is quicker, food is hot and the staff seems friendly. So far, so good. Will keep you posted.

Came here thinking I would get a cheap meal, so I approach the Mcdonald’s employee and say where is your dollar menu. In broken english she replies no dollar menu aqui. I laugh a bit at her response, so then i proceed to order fries, a chicken wrap, & medium soda… its comes up to $ 7.45. Like come on what kinda McDonalds is this. No offence, but just b/c its Newark Downtown doesn’t mean to advert from the general population; its still Newark so where is my dollar menu!!! I could understand if I was in Wall Street with all the tycoons n sharks but come on really… To there advantage they did process the food rather quickly, not sure if that is a good thing though.

Came here in hopes to snag a free Coke glass with the purchase of a Large meal and I was glad to see the signage on the window that they were a participating restaurant. I ordered the Grilled Chicken and the diet coke to offset the amount of calories I’d be consuming. After handing me the large diet coke, a few minutes later she handed me the food and that’s when I asked — where’s the glass? She seemed scared already. I gave her«the look». I have that look that’s pretty much engrained in every New Yorker who’s got a gripe about corporate responsibility demanding satisfaction from every single thing they advertise and promise us. She spoke in broken English that they haven’t recieved them yet and for me to check back later today. «Later TODAY?», I asked sternly. She hesitated, «Tomorrow» and gave me another receipt. I’ll be back tomorrow then. Thank you. P. S. Would it kill you to put ketchup in my bag?
