Please do yourself a favour and don’t ever go to this place. The décor was outdated but I didn’t mind that. What was outrageous was the service and the food. Nobody had any semblance of what was happening and the food was APPALLING. It was stale, old and not well cooked at all. The spices were missing, there were some ridiculously made up dishes, the plates were chipped and scratched. We were five of us so we sampled most of the menu and believe it or not even the rice was undercooked with more salt than any salt flats.

Very accommodating to Vegan eaters like myself. Really good quality. If you are looking for fancy this is not your place. Big plus for being BYOB

So I placed an order on eat24 an hour went by, and I called and they said they received the order but didn’t make it! He told me that they didn’t make it, and now they are closed! Can’t help you… Okay, so there you have it. Now I guess I’ll just go to Wendy’s who seem to have better customer service than this place.

This isn’t a trendy eatery and it’s not fancy. This is a family owned small place with good traditional food. Good vegetarian options and they will prepare the dishes with the amount of spice that you prefer. Breads are good too.

Buffet was cold and definitely not worth the price charged. Not so much variety for vegetarian food either.

Food is average at best. Ambience of the restaurant leaves much to be desired. Beware of their poor business tactics– never order delivery from here. Their delivery charge is VERY unreasonable & they conveniently don’t tell you about it when you order! There are much better Indian restaurants in the area. Don’t waste your time with this one!

The food was delicious, but the service was unnecessarily slow. On a Monday night, the restaurant was not busy. Two men were working, but it took so long to get anything. They sat us without bringing us menus, so we sat there staring at each other for a few minutes. Water refills were too long in between. Our server passed our table four times before bringing me the to-go box I asked for. Perhaps on a night when the buffet is open we would have a better experience. As I said, the food was lovely.

Definitely mediocre. The food lacked flavor and the service was lackluster. I don’t recommend the buffet.

I went there for dinner buffet on Sunday evening. — Food was cold, not even warm. When I asked about it they said that’s what you get in buffet at this time(Sunday 8:20), if you want warm food order separately or He offered me to put my plate in microwave. — Rest room was disgusting. I am not going there again.

Not good experince. Worst customer service. Food is good but worst part is te customer service. They have to improve their standard on customer service. We waited for 10 mins to have water on our table. One of the Server was not good at all. Rude behaviour.

I’ve been to Maharaja a number of times, the latest being last night for dinner. It’s a decent Indian restaurant. Nothing spectacular, but it’s good. To people who have never had Indian food before, I always suggest them trying lunch buffets served at Indian establishments; these are always a good introduction. Maharaja has a good variety for their lunch buffet, and it’s not very expensive. However, if you want to have really good food, you have order off the menu and tell to make the food medium spicy or spicy. Most Indian dishes should have a little heat to it. Last night I went with a couple friends, and we had a few dishes. For appetizer, we ordered the vegetable samosas and«meat samosas». The vegetable samosa was good, but meat samosa was okay. I’m assuming the meat was lamb; the meat needed some flavor. For dinner, we ordered chicken tikka masala, lamb rogan josh, and goat curry with an order of 2 breads — naan and aloo(potato) paratha. Overall the food was good, but nothing amazing. I’m usually not a fan of chicken tikka masala, and Maharaja’s didn’t change my mind. This is one of the dishes that is not supposed to be spicy, and it wasn’t; it’s suppose to be a little sweet. I prefer Indian dishes that are usually spicy. The dish I enjoyed the most was the goat curry. Being an Indo-Caribbean(Caribbean of Indian decent), we only have curry in our cuisine, no kormas, tikka maslas, etc, so I tend to prefer dishes similar to what I would eat at home or in the Caribbean, which tend to be the curry or vindaloo dishes. With that being said, that is the reason I enjoyed the goat curry. What I do love is their selection of background music. They have a great mix of contemporary Bollywood music. Overall, not a bad dinner, but nothing to rave about. I’d recommend it.

I am quite a fan of CURRY! We ordered chicken madras and chicken curry for main dish. a little disappointed in the taste of madras. But Love Mango Lassi! The decoration inside is quite authentic Indian, quiet but a little dark. All in all, I would like to go back again to try some more because I believe there should be something suitable to my taste.

Being new to the area we looked this place up on Unilocal. In all honesty, it was a less than stellar experience. 1. My soda was warm. 2. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala. Sadly I found the flavor of the base sauce to be severely lacking any flavor, besides the heat. My chicken was mostly dark meat too. More power to you if you like dark meat, but I would much rather my chicken to be white meat in this dish. The rice and garlic naan were great though. 3. The bathroom was disgusting! It was musty smelling and you could see rust had formed on the heating elements. A gross toilet brush was resting against the wall on top of the rust base board. The floor appeared to have not been washed in a long time. On the plus side, the service was lovely and friendly. Unfortunately I won’t be able to bring myself back for another meal.

We tried some real Indian food here. The food was great, especially the curry here. One kind of Indian bread called roti smelled so good, also for naan. The chicken madras was highly recommended, a little bit spicy but with many kinds of special smell of herbs, very tasty. But I felt a little dark in the restaurant and they did not have enough waiters here.

straight up i didn’t have the buffet BUT the a la carte was FAB. Delaware vegans/vegetarians THISISYOURSPOT. the staff here is amazing. they know exactly what is vegan, exactly what can be made vegan, and they are super nice and the food is delish! in all honesty — i’ve had indian food all over the world and this place is fine in comparison. they have a good variety of dishes and everything was very very very good! i came here because they sponsored Delaware veg fest and i left stuffed and happy. pro tip: this place is BYOB and you have to go to the counter to pay(i learned that the hard way)

This is the best Indian buffet I’ve had yet and I’ve been around this area for over 10 years. This is easily in the Top 3 Best Indian Restaurants. Each restaurant has it’s own taste and style of food prep because let’s face Indians are diverse and so is their food. This restaurant has good customer service and good food. Waitstaff is friendly and attentive. Atmosphere could be better if they had more space and more $$ into the décor. But that will come in time. The proof of it’s quality is that a lot of Indians, Americans, and non-Americans alike frequent this place. Overall, I recommend this place quite highly.

I was honestly disappointed. I had their lunch buffet for the first time yesterday. Their buffet was pretty(fresh foods) but small and a little cramped. Nothing was as spicy as I like it to be. The salad was drenched in dressing. The staff was nice and the water guy always made sure we didn’t even have less than half a glass of water. Two people for less than $ 20 but I’m not sure I will go again.

I go to Maharajah for the lunch buffet, the price is reasonable and the food is good. Like Vietnamese and Thai food; I like the fact of simple food with great ingredients and alot of flavor. There’s usually a good selection of at least 5 – 6 entrée dishes with a vegetarian selection, which are also very good, and a dessert selection. And plenty more to try: naan, simosas and palak paneer. The waitstaff is friendly and attentive and a quiet and subdued atmosphere.
