I was strolling through the mall and came across this place! Wow… The Girl… I think her name was Natalie. Greeted me with such an awesome smile! She was so kind and polite! My food was done fast and tasted wonderful! Definitely coming back here!

There was no line because I came here on a weekday evening. The girl working there was cleaning but helped me immediately, and since I knew what I wanted already the exchange was short. She offered fries but I declined. I’d also like to note she was very cheerful for someone who is forced to wear that crazy colorful outfit. I got a cheese dog(American) and it came out a lot faster than I was expecting which worried me because I thought maybe it wouldn’t be cooked thoroughly but it was delicious as I’d hoped.

Always good for a quick meal on the go. Their fresh lemonade is very good and I have seen them make it using a long stick pounding on the lemons! Original flavored lemonade is the best. They finally have adapted the Nathan beef dogs and are so good especially when it’s freshly made! Love it with mustard… I went here for lunch and really wanted the Nathan corn dog bites but they said they ran out?! Really… mid-day and already out? Over the years, prices have gone up… I just can’t understand one average corn dog is $ 4+tax and a Nathan dog is over $ 4.45, I think. This is almost a carnival price! Ridiculous! But I guess, I know I will be coming back every so often when I crave one! :-)

This is for the girl who was manning the whole place by herself when I was eating here for lunch. I think her name is Valerie? I wanna say it’s Valerie, but forgive me if I am wrong. She was super nice the entire time and even though the rush of people didn’t happen until after I got my food, she was a champ through the entire thing. Always had a smile on her face and didn’t have those«I hate my job» attitudes you usually see when you’re at a food court of a mall. I ordered the #1 Combo, which is fries, a stick item, and regular sized lemonade($ 6.99 + tax). Melted American cheese on a stick? YES, PLEASE! I also did that spin a wheel thing and got free funnel cake fries out of that. I CANTPASSUPFREEDESSERT.

I was sitting in the food court at Newpark Mall in front of Hot Dog on a Stick, when I noticed to my disgust a couple. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not disgusted because I’m a bitter old lady, but because their nasty butts were chilling on the COUNTER. The counter where they slide those fried crispy delicious hot dogs and cheese sticks. The counter where you can get your fix of sugary lemonade and oily fries. They were scootin their butts all up in the condiment area. The worst part is, the girl was wearing a sweet little pink skirt so I’m pretty sure some real butt cheek was all up in the mustard and ketchup. This isn’t your home, stand the heck up! 5 stars because they called security and disinfected the entire area!

Girls are super nice even with customers with attitudes. Great job smiling even though I know I would want to ring the customers neck. Lol. Was in line as I had to witness customers behaving badly. It’s not easy sometimes, but great job! Excellent cheese stick and lemonade. My only go to at the mall

After leaving a terrible hair appointment I wanted to a) indulge in retail therapy and b) eat my feelings. That says way too much about me. After buying myself some sandals I wanted to relive my childhood. As kids my sister, mom, and I used to watch the girls at Hot Dog on a Stick make lemonade. It was funny as a kid(we used to laugh at their hats), but now that I think about it, it was probably a little odd of us to sit, laugh, and watch teenage and young adult women bounce up and down as they made that delicious lemonade. Anyway, I couldn’t decide if I wanted a hot dog on a stick or cheese on a stick. I decided to be a Fatty McFatterson and get the combo #2(came with fries). I dropped $ 7 on that meal! Man! Just as expensive as I remember. I ended up deciding I wanted a strawberry lemonade, and I dropped another $ 3. Whewph. At any rate, everything was just as fried, greasy, and yummy as I remembered. The gentlemen behind the counter were super nice, and as much as I tried not to laugh when they started bouncing up and down to make the lemonade, I snorted and laughed to myself anyway. Some things never change. Thanks, HDoaS!

I have been going to Hot Dog On A Stick for lunch ever since I was a child. Anyways, the food here is excellent and prepared at a fair pace. I ordered a small sized cherry lemonade today and they charged me more then three dollars for it. By the time I gave in my money to the cashier, I read on the menu board that was displayed that the regular sized lemonade was less then three dollars. I understand that they have to charge me tax for the food, but the regular size lemonade would have added up to about three dollars flat with tax, but I purchased a small lemonade that charged me more then three dollars including tax. It is not the fact that I lost a couple of cents, but if they collect extra money from every single costumer, the money adds up eventually to possibly hundreds of dollars. Other then that, the food is pretty good and I recommend it.

Hot Dog on a Stick had a promo for dads on Father’s Day. Free Lemonade! no purchase necessary. Thanx! wasn’t in a mood today for corn dogs(2.85) though. sometime in the future for sure. lemonade was so sweet, had to dilute it with water…

After much discussion with my wife on where to go,(she loves this place), we made a special trip here. Before, it was always spot on and great for that junk food fix. This time though, our food was not quite as good. I think the fry oil temp is too low because the batter soaked up oil instead of having that nice, crispy outside texture that correct oil temp gives you when it seals the outer layer. Also, they got my drink order wrong. I know, neither of these issues are horrible transgressions, but for simplistic food like this that you made a special trip for, the experience is predicated on attention to those few key details.

Their cheese on a stick is like the best grilled cheese in the world… on a stick. SO decadent and yummy. I don’t go here all the time as it is not diet-friendly but it IS amazing!

Hot dog on a stick. Hot dog on a stick. Heck. To be honest, the first time I tried Hot Dog on a Stick was when I was 22… and that was for their frozen lemonade. I didn’t actually have any of their foods until recently this year, thanks to a few Groupons I had snagged. The food here makes for a good snack. Definitely not a meal replacement or anything like that.(I don’t think it was intended to be one.) I like how they make the batter themselves… cool machines. Nothing too spectacular here. Good snack to go ! No real complaints. I’m a fan mostly because I want to become mayor on foursquare so I can have those free lemonades… yummm

It’s Father’s Day, and I’m really feeling the love. «Simon, take out the trash, and don’t forget to throw yourself in.» «Here’s $ 5. Get lost!» «No, your food is fine. I don’t know why you’re convulsing.» «I didn’t mean to lock you in the garage. My bad.» «You don’t want the Nordstrom gift card? Okay, I’ll take it.» «Stop crying. I used your razor by mistake. Just clean it off.» «What?! I bought you a dress? Oh, and it’s in my size.» There are 2 listings for this kiosk(I placed my review here because the phone number provided is right). +The kiosk is popular(unlike me), but there usually aren’t more than 2 or 3 people in line, and the employees input orders quickly. +Fresh Squeezed Lemonade. The lemonade is really delicious, and there are 4 types to choose from(Original, Cherry, Sugar Free, and Lime). Original lemonade is probably the best. I tried Cherry once, and it’s good, but a bit light(the slice of lemon that’s always included added some flavor). Sugar Free lemonade is flavored by your choice of artificial sweeteners such as Splenda and Equal. +The fries here are so good that I mentioned them in my NewPark Mall review. +Funnel Cake Sticks are now sold here. I haven’t tried them, but they look good. If you order them, you can also get another order for just $ 1 next time(you’ll need to show your receipt from the first visit). +The employees are very perky and animated, like wind-up dolls. Their uniforms are also bright and zany enough to give you a seizure(3 girls from the high school I graduated from once worked here– a picture of them in their uniforms appears in one of the yearbooks). The colors of the kiosk also make it stand out. +$ 1 Hot Dogs on a Stick every Tuesday. +The condiment area is always well stocked. You can grab salt and ketchup and mustard and napkins(I wish pepper was provided). +Longevity. Hot Dog on a Stick has been around since 1946. It’s especially a staple in malls(there are also 103 stores in 17 states). –Everything is «made to order»(only drinks are available right away). It’s great having fresh food(to their credit, the employees work quickly and are rarely forgetful), but even if there’s no line, you’ll be waiting a few minutes for your food(I usually grab what I need at the counter, leave, and then come back when I’m sure that my order is ready). The«made to order» distinction also isn’t unique(a lot of food at the mall is made on the spot). –The menu has always been minimal. Here it is: Hot Dog on a Stick, Veggie Dog on a Stick, Cheese on a Stick(with American or Pepper Jack), Funnel Cake Sticks, Fries, and Lemonade(there’s also a small selection of sodas to choose from). 2 of the items have only been added over the past few years. –I’m not a fan of turkey hot dogs(I was disappointed when I ordered a Hot Dog on a Stick in 2009– I had first tried one years prior). Like a lot of people, I prefer beef and pork hot dogs. Even the other customers who go here are more likely to order fries, a drink, or a Cheese on a Stick than a Hot Dog on a Stick. –Customers crowd around the counter too much. I partly grab what I need at the condiment area right away because of this. –The items are overpriced. I don’t know how much they are now, but fries were $ 2.36 in 2010(they were $ 1.65 just the year before). Even worse, you receive a smaller portion now(I used to receive boxes brimming with fries, but now I receive ones that have noticeably fewer fries). In 2010, Hot Dogs on a Stick were $ 3.13(because they’re not filling, I don’t think they’re worth more than $ 2.50), and Veggie Dogs on a Stick were $ 3.35. A 32 oz. lemonade was $ 3.46(a regular 20 oz. lemonade was $ 2.91 and totally not worth it). As you can see, even a small meal here(hot dog, fries, and a regular lemonade) will run you over $ 8(someone like me needs to spend over $ 12 in order to get full). The fact that the items are overpriced and a bit small overall can’t be ignored. Still, there are some good items here, and the employees are always friendly and thorough.

Whoever designed the uniforms clearly never had to wear them. I wonder how big of of a deterrent their multi-colored uniform is for prospective employees. Anyways, limited menu. A few kinds of deep fried items on a stick. Fries were OK. The best part is the lemonade. Not a place to go if you are on a diet but you knew that already.

Truth: I never had Hot Dog on a Stick until I was 21 years old. I’ve seen those frozen corn dogs before and never grew a liking for corn dogs in general. My best friend took me to the one in Sacramento when we were in college, and whoa, their batter is the best thing ever! I was hooked. They used to have the $ 0.99 Tuesday deals, but alas, they stopped that a while ago. One of my blogger friends tweeted yesterday(March 1) that Hot Dog on a Stick was having a Buy One Large Lemonade Get One Free deal, so I had to go. The boy had to return a pair of shoes at the mall, so that was perfect. When we asked the cashier if they were doing the BOGO deal, she said yes, but she wanted to see the deal on my phone.(Whew, good thing I have my iPhone now so I can prove that the deal was legit!) She said she just wanted to check that I was following their twitter page and to see the deal details. No big deal. Afterwards, she just rang us up. Besides the drink and free drink, we also decided to try their Cheese on a Stick since I’ve heard people raving about it before. The Pepper Jack was pretty good, but I definitely want to try out the American next time! They have three different flavors for their lemonades — regular, cherry, and lime. I could really taste why they’re so famous for their lemonade! It was light, fresh, and delicious.(You know it’s fresh when there are some itty bitty pieces of the lemons on the bottom of your cup!) Follow their twitter pages @hotdogonastick1 for deals! They seem to have deals every few weeks. Worth it!

For 99.9% of us, our new year’s resolution includes eating healthy and losing weight… so how could my first review for 2011 not be for HOTDOGON A STICK! My favorite thing here is the CHEESE on a stick… YUM… so good… It’s always hard for me to decide between the PepperJack or the American, so I usually get both. I was good the last time and only got the American. The lemonade here is also really delish… whether regular, cherry, or lime… they are all wonderful! On our last visit here, there was FROZEN lemonade! It was maybe 30 degrees outside but the frozen lemonade totally hit the spot! I’ve been craving it ever since.

They always have great food and their lemonades are fabulous! It’s always made to order and FRESH! The only complaint that I have is the prices… little expensive for me these days… The employees there are always nice and very patient when your deciding what your gonna order. I would order the pepper jack corn dog, fries, and the pink lemonade! Yum-o!

I know : Hot Dogs are not good for you. Corn dogs are not good for you. Even the delicious veggie corn dog I ate here today is not good for you or me. But mmmmmmmm it was delicious. Veggie dog dipped in cornmeal batter then deep fried. 1,000.000 calories, 10,000 grams of fat. But I did walk around Newpark Mall for 3 hours and burned up at «least» 10 calories – worked off that mustard! And the server was so sweet and patient. And she had to wear that dorky but so bad it’s great uniform.(Like the photo from the Internet)
