My friends and I were looking somewhere to relax and have a beer when we stopped by this place. We walked in and no one greeted us which was interesting but we made our way to a table. We waited about 15 mins and not one server came by to take our orders. We were in plain sight of the servers and bartender yet we were continued to be ignored. A couple groups were even served before us and it became apparent that we were not going to be tended in any way so we finally had enough and left. The total lack of customer service was utterly appalling. It will be the first and last time I will visit this establishment.

This place is so bad I made a Unilocal account just to share my experience. We came in, ungreeted by employees, so eventually we sat ourselves. One server walked past us multiple times. Despite waving him down, he gave us no attention. A few other groups walked in after us and received the same lack of service. Meanwhile, management and another server were talking loudly behind the bar about their last night’s rated R adventures. Eventually we got tired of waiting(over 20 mins) and left. My only regret is that they didn’t have a toilet so that I could defecate in it and leave it unflushed as an equal exchange for their amazing service. In conclusion, I am convinced that it is no coincidence that City Point rhymes with Sh*tty Point.

I sat down with my friends for almost 15 min without any service. Employees watched us sit down, and said nothing to us. As we sat, the employees socialized with each other. New customers walked and they talked to them but still no service. After the 4th set of customers that sat down after us got served, we just left. I am not sure if the food and drinks are good or not but if this business wants to succeed, they really need to reevaluate their customer service policy.

I never thought I’d give an airport bar such a high review, but honestly, I can’t find much to frown upon at City Point. It’s small, sure, but I had a table by the window on one of the busiest travel days of the year. The menu is classic airport fare, but executed far better than you’d expect from a little bar pre-security. I had the chicken Caesar salad, which they just called a Chicken Salad… oooh, so non-conformist! The lettuce was crisp and fresh, and the chicken was warm and very tasty. The waitress brought me my glass of Pinot* almost as soon as the words were out of my mouth, and stopped by the table several times to check and make sure everything was okay. Seriously? In a Newark, NJ airport bar? Awesome. I saw several people enjoying burgers(the Goat Cheese Burger was very tempting), and they have a cheese platter that looks awesome. It’s not cheap, but it’s worth it. - *I may or may not have given this place 5 stars instead of 4 because the waitress didn’t card me. This literally never happens! I’m always carded! I was thrilled.
