I had a GREAT experience here! The girls that work here are so much fun and I’ve had nothing but good experiences. I am very particular about my brows and Jenny does a GREAT job keeping them nice and clean for me. I never get too thin brows like some other reviewers have mentioned because I make sure to communicate my needs to her. When I need products Maya is always there to guide me to the right products for my needs and give me samples to try things before I buy. GREAT customer service here and always upbeat, fun and a good time!

I’ve never had a problem with getting my eyebrows done here until about a week ago. Turns out all the girls that worked here, don’t work here anymore. I usually went to either Kriscia or Normeen, and they usually are really nice and have a conversation with you. Jenny did my eyebrows this time, and there was no conversation whatsoever which I don’t mind, but let me tell you. I wanted to cry because she butchered my eyebrows SOBAD. Like do you not see the shape that I already had? She told me my left eyebrow was thinner than my right eyebrow, but even then she proceeded to take off more hair on the left side! She basically overly arched my brows and took off way too much in the front. She then filled in my eyebrows, and I walked out of Macy’s looking like Ursula from The Little Mermaid. I am never going back to Jenny. Two stars from all the other times I’ve been there for the past year and half, but this time was horrible.

This is my first negative Unilocal review, however I wanted to write to save a poor woman’s eyebrows from a mass butcher! I specifically told the specialist that I was growing my eyebrows back and I love my thick eyebrows. What do I get? Razor thin uneven pencil rainbow brows. SIMPLYAWFUL. In my 20+ years of getting my eyebrows done, I’ve never been so upset. It will take at least 6 months to get my brows back. The specialist was nice, but does not know how to listen to customers or shape brows according to face shape. BEWARE!

Do not go here unless you want your skin to break out like it did when you were fifteen. Also management, please reevaluate the loud mouthed Persian chick who works there. She cared more about gossiping with coworkers than anything else. She was pushy and very in my face. She asked me a million and one personal questions. Completely inappropriate.

All I can say is that this place is extremely unprofessional. The employees are more concerned with fixing their makeup and gossiping rather than focusing on the customer. As for my eyebrows, I should have paid $ 10 instead of $ 20 for the job done. Beware.

I didn’t even want to give them 1 star but had no choice. Keisha the manager did my sisters eye brows and basically waxed everything off. Instead of apologizing she told her«your eye brows were to close together and thick». It is not her choice and my sister had asked for her not to touch her eye brows but to clean around it. Then she made her pay. I will be contacting the corporate office for her behavior. When you see a customer upset the. You should at least apologize. Never coming here again and will be blogging and Unilocaling about her!

I first started going to Benefit ten years ago. Yes, $ 20 is pricey for brows but I’ve always found their brow bar reliable. I loved one esthetician so much that I followed her when she opened her own business. This past year, I’d get my brows done whenever I was in San Francisco or San Jose and I was happy even though different people did them. I even went to a Benefit in Portland and was always happy with the results. Until now. I had family coming from out of town so I opted to go to Newark rather than make the drive to San Jose. Regret. I show up 2 minutes early for my appointment. My esthetician is in a heated conversation about scheduling to her coworker. Five minutes pass. I am still standing there. No one has acknowledged me. I am growing tired of pretending to look at makeup. Finally, Kriscia, my esthetician acknowledges me. My only request is that she not make them overly thin. I have really thin hair and the last thing I want is to look like an Asian girl with no eyebrows. Kriscia retorts with a long tirade about how she’s actually trained, the Benefit way. She continues to cut strips(for the wax) even though she has a ton of it. At this point, I wish she would just get started already rather than talk about milkshakes and defending her choice to text her boss while she was working on me. An Asian girl with overly thinned out eyebrows walks by interested in getting her eyebrows done but gawks at the $ 20 price tag. Kriscia then takes five minutes to try to sell her. She completely ignores me and talks to the girl. She even starts trimming my eyebrows to impress the girl and totally forgets to have me sign the waiver. Unprofessional. The entire process is longer than usual(more about that later) and painful. I don’t mind hot wax or tweezing but the«creamy wax» she raved about to the Asian girl ended up being more painful than the usual hot wax. I am used to a quick process of wax + strip + peel. Repeat. She applied a super thin coating of this«creamy wax.» There was so little that it hurt how hard she had to press to apply the little bit of it(there was a huge vat of it!). It seemed like she was attempting a one shot deal. On the second brow, she pulled off the strip and balked when no hair came off. Well, why don’t you just use more wax then?! With the amount of time she spent tweezing, it was obvious that my eyebrows would resemble the overly thin eyebrows of that girl who walked by. In my head, I am totally trying to think of my exit strategy. She then asks the customary, «Do you want your brows filled in?» and I declined because I just wanted to leave. She tried to sell me on products(which understandably is part of her job) and I declined. While I was paying the cashier(which from experience I know has to be a different girl), she was trying to hand me samples. Usually the estheticians keep their distance so that when the cashier asks, «Would you like to leave a tip?» I can choose to do it or decline without pressure. I still tipped because I have been raised to be polite but I didn’t want to. I could have done without her standing there when I was asked. All In all, it wasn’t terrible. My husband said he thought it was worse and at least I have some eyebrows and it will grow. I really wish she listened to me saying, «not thin.» I will definitely just spend the extra time in the car and go to San Jose from now on. It was nice to learn about birthday brows(which I learned from reading the other review) but no amount of freebies would make me come back here again.

Came here for the first time for my annual free Birthday Brows and am so happy that I did! I made my appointment with Kriscia and she definitely knows how to make the eye brows a wow factor! Man she really took the time to shape my brows even though I was just there for the Birthday Brows. I highly recommend Kriscia and will be back to have her do them again!
