Aguililla Taqueria is CLOSED!!! 8( I wanted to eat here today but when I got there, the«Aguililla Taqueria» sign was replaced by a «FORLEASE» sign. ARGHH!!! I’m going to miss this place SOOO much… The best pastor… the spicy verde salsa @ the salsa bar… the cute Mexican girl who couldn’t speak any English… *sigh* Another one bites the dust.

My husband and I have been coming to this place about a year now. Place was closed because and we still remained loyal customers when once opened again. With all that said we walked in on 05÷27÷14. Although there handmade tortillas are awesome the meat at times can be old looking. This time the meat tasted extremely old and pretty nasty looking and awful taste. On top of all a huge roach was wondering the place. Aguilla, what’s going on with freshness of meat???

The food here is good, but their service is horrible. Service especially for to go orders takes FOREVER. Even just for small orders… I’ll order two meals, be quoted 10 minutes, ad when arriving 10 – 15 minutes later, I’ll STILL have to wait an additional 10 – 15 minutes. The place isn’t even that busy. I strayed away from taqueria Los gallons cuz I like the food here, but after the last couple crappy experiences here I think I’ll go back. :(

Super salty(and i love salty) but the burrito tasted like major salt. Hard chips. Gristle in the meat. The salsa bar was good but I prefer lighter crispier chips– these were made from thick tortillas and fried hard.

Not good. Had a chicken super burrito and a regular al pastor taco and my girlfriend a carne asada super burrito, and none of if it was really good. The beans were undercooked and there was not that much meat in them. It was more like a rice and beans burrito. We both felt like the burrito’s were bland, really boring and not enjoyable. Really regret giving this place a chance. We’ve lived close to this place since before it opened and never tried it til now. We should have just kept it that way.

We just got take out. I brought it home to my family and we all started eating when we found a dead cockroach in my 4 year olds meal. The staff is very nice. They gave us a refund and were very apologetic, but I won’t ever eat here again.

So it was my mother-in-law’s birthday this past weekend and my husband and I decided to treat her to some Mexican food since she rarely eats it. When we walked in, the décor looked a little odd. It reminds me of someone’s home. The menu was posted on the wall right behind the cash register which was very inconvenient for us because we had to stand there to see what we wanted to order. The good thing is, there wasn’t any customers; otherwise, we would of been in the way. We’ve ordered a super vegetarian burrito for me, 10 chicken tacos at $ 1 each and 2 chicken burritos, all to-go. In addition to our food, we got a bag for free chips and salsas. Who doesn’t love anythng that’s free? We loved the chips and salsa. The chips were warm and fresh. The salsa were fresh also. Unfortunately, we didn’t enjoy the food we’ve ordered. My super vegetarian burrito had bell peppers and soggy rice in it. I only like bell peppers in pizza and the rice was way over-cooked. I don’t remember getting bell peppers in the vegetarian burritos I’ve had in the past with other places. I didn’t see or taste any sour cream or guacamole in my burrito at all. The chicken in the burrito and taco was bland and dry. No comment on customer service. Besides the cashier, we didn’t see anyone else.

Ordered and paid for a super burrito, took it home and while eating it I noticed that had no sour cream or guacamole. I ate it all thinking maybe it was at the end but nothing, so I called them up and they admitted they made a mistake. They said the next time I go in I get a free super burrito, cool, now that’s a good business. So the next day I came in to get my free super burrito and they told me I have to pay half because I should have brought the burrito back. I told them what I am not bringing back is my business. They already admitted they made a mistake, they told me to come back for the free burrito and they do that to me. Now they get nothing for a second burrito anyway except they lost a customer. Whoever the manager was on the night of Sept 16th is a idiot.

Tacos, tacos, come get your tacos! If tacos had a god, it would live in the kitchens of Aguililla Taqueria. Something about two slices of corn tortilla, some onions, some cilantro and some meat all wrapped together and stuffed into a broke college student’s mouth, makes this place that orgasmic. They are only a DOLLAR. ONEDOLLARTACOSEVERYDAY! Not tuesday between 3−6pm, not only on fridays with a coupon, but every single day from when they open to when they close. It means that they’re running the most legit taco business in the area. There’s over 8 different kinds of meat and my favorite is the chorizo, except they barely have that. Everything is made fresh so even tacos, ever so simple to put together, takes at least a 10 minute wait. But lucky us, even if it is take out or dine it, you’ll get free chips and dip to munch on while you wait and to take to go with you. They’re not stingy and are super friendly. The interior is very, very clean and it’s not exactly a hole in the wall place, but the tacos are hole in the wall delicious and cheap. I can never leave the place with less than 10 tacos. So easy to eat them all and so easy to share. They offer everything else that you’d expect at a Taqueria like burritos, rice plates, specials, nachos, vegetarian options among other entrees and horchata– its fresh and always delicious. Love having this amazing place near by work. There’s a bathroom and a huge parking lot. Not hard to find, in a little plaza where the grocery outlet is.

Just found my new mexican joint when I’m craving some«authentic» mexican food. After reading some of the reviews about this place, I had to try it. I ended up getting two tacos(al pastor and carnitas), but I also tried the enchiladas and my in law’s birria that he ordered. Here are the things to really high light… they’re one of the few places around here that STILL has a «help yourself» salsa/chip bar. The salsas are flavorful and not water down, and the chips… man, these have to be some of the best tortilla chips I’ve had, and I wasn’t drunk! I think the reason why they taste so good is because they use hand made tortillas and fry them up in the back. The next thing to mention, its connected to the bar next door so if you’re craving a michelada or a beer with your meal, go and order it at the bar and come back with it! Haven’t had a good michelada in a while but this one hits the spot! Meats are tender, flavorful and NOT fatty… but the biggest thing that made the difference in the world… HANDMADETORTILLAS! Did I mention that already? It just makes everything taste THAT much better. My sister in law and I were the only non-mexicans in there so you know this place is good! But don’t be scared, the waitress/girl behind the counter spoke perfect english(not sure if she works there part time or full time though). Either way, its easy to place an order to dont be intimidated!

Newark does not have a shortage of Taquerias. This place is located in central Newark by the grocery outlet strip mall. This place is a strong contender among the other myriad of mexian places in Newark. The chips and sala are memorable, my favorite is the guac. I had at trio of tacos the basic Al pastor, carnitas and suprisingly the carne asada was the standout. It was grilled on the flattop with this lovely spicey flavorful red sauce. I will be back to try their burritos, tortas and fresh drinks. Very nice staff.

This location has changed hands multiple times and each time I have had high hopes for a little spot with good eats. This time they did it. I was here last night for the first time and the chili verde burrito was really good. The salsa bar is above what I expected with good chips and really good salsas. Today we I tried the veggie and a special order my 9 year old ordered with just beans rice eggs and cheese. Both were really good! So was the watermelon drink and the horchata. Looks like this place is bringing up the level of Mexican food in Newark.

Very good food. I think they have the best chips and tortillas in town. I had a chicken burrito and really liked it. Very good salsa bar. Nice people to. I will be back! Price is pretty good to!
