My husband and I just got back from the trip to the British Virgin Islands with the Sailing Collective. It was amazing! Our skipper, Taylor, was great: helpful and thoughtful, fun and friendly. Everything was well organized and thought through. We had fun, made friends and enjoyed the experience. Would absolutely recommend it to everyone!

I decided to go on this sailing trip despite knowing nothing about sailing and being a terrible swimmer. Although the idea seemed intimidating under those circumstances, the trip ended up being one of the best vacations I’ve ever been on. After a busy year, it was perfect to unwind on a secluded island with only the moon as your source of light. The surreal scenery and crystal clear waters made it really easy to get away from work and the outside world. It was an extra plus to be able to be on vacation without the stress of figuring out your daily itinerary and dealing with overpopulated tourist sites. The trip was well planned and there were always different options for crew members to do different things according to their mood. It was great that I could sleep on the boat for the whole day if I wanted to, and wasn’t pressured to do otherwise. The food was also great on this trip. Max and Dayyan made incredible paella and taco dishes, and we went to some great restaurants as well. I was pretty nervous about living on a boat for a week because of my motion sickness, but I quickly got used to it and easily fell asleep at night, to my surprise. The biggest success of my trip was that I learned how to snorkel and somewhat fixed my terrible swimming skills. Wohoo! I would recommend this trip to anyone who’s looking for an affordable vacation and a one of a kind adventure.

Beach. Boat. Booze. The three main ingredients I was looking for when I was scouting out a vacation for my sister and I. And what we found was so much more then that. I came across The Sailing Collective and read about all the different place they would charter there boats. Although all of them looked amazing(Italy, Brazil, West Coast etc) the one that really stuck out to us was the Sailing/Yoga trip that went around to BVI. And I can honestly it was the best decision I’ve made in a LOOOONNGGG time. Quick recap: –Beautiful Weather –snorkeling –Hiking –Rock Climbing/jumping(took me a solid 10 min to do it tho) –Learning how to sail –1 hour yoga classes on the sandy beaching every morning — Family style cooking on the boat — living in your bathing suit for 7 straight days — each day sailing for a couple of hours to a new island then exploring the waters and land. — seeing dolphins and jumping sting rays — Swimming with sea turtles and weird glowing plankton at night. And these bulletin points doesn’t even come close to explaining how phenomenal this vacation was. And truth be told, a lot of it had to do with our Captain, Capt. Dayyan and our Yoga instructor Heather. Both of them were trained professional in sailing so were able to teach us sailing terminology, answer any questions we had and got to actually sail the boat. By the second day all 8 of us were working together hosting the sails, dropping the anchor, learning how to tie different knots and swabbing the deck. Both of them made the whole experience just plan ol’ fun. Having Yoga every morning was definitely key. Some mornings you wake up after a long night of running around the islands local bars and that cup of coffee just won’t cut it. But jumping into the turquoise water and swimming to a sandy beach, doing a solid hour of stretching in the sun then swimming back to the boat definitely does the trick. Heather’s yoga classes where perfect too. She was able to cater to people who were either experienced or inexperienced in yoga. All in all it was hands down one of the best experiences I’ve had. And the beautiful part is there are so many other places I can sail to and explore with there company. The gift that keeps on giving. BOOM.
