Lets just start out by qualifying this review… it has been one of the wettest Winter/​Springs on record. Many golf courses have suffered & even the most pristine courses are a little soggy. Ill give them the benefit of the doubt there. Thats where it stops.
I stopped in on Memorial Day weekend to play a quick 9 holes. I should have known before I pulled in what i was getting myself into. The sign had no legible english on it, as it looked like it hadnt been updated since i played there last (about 5 years ago) .
I walk into the clubhouse, which was always a little claustrophobic to begin with, to egregiously marked up prices on balls, clubs, spikes, etc. I think every golfer expects to be gouged a little at the pro-​shop, but this was outrageous. I’m talking about a dozen golf balls priced $ 5-​$ 7 more than what you can find in the leading sporting good stores!
So then comes the fun part. I get up to the counter & the lady informs me that the course is in «awful» shape. Being it has been so wet, i can understand, so it really didnt matter to me that much. i asked what was bad, she said «its wet». It was all well and good with me, and the price was only $ 6 because of the condition.
So i get onto the course. Lo & behold, I am the only one there. I shouldve known something was really wrong with that picture, being it a Saturday of a holiday weekend. I come to find that there actually are NO fairways. Apparently whatever «equipment» they have at the course cannot cut grass. I am talking about 7 inch deep grass where the fairway shoulda been. The «rough» was at least a foot deep. It was also wet. I plugged shots on 2 holes in what used to be the fringe. that just doesnt happen. The greens were not cut professionally either. The whole place looked more like a cattle pasture than a golf course.
I ended up losing about 15 balls because of a good drive in the «fairway» being lost in a sea of grass. I called it quits after 5 holes because I couldnt see how any self-​respecting business owner would want to keep a place open if they cannot take care of it properly. I think even at $ 6 for 9 holes its highway robbery. Thanks but no thanks. I think this place should be closed or sold to someone who can take care of it.
I will never go back to this place. Ever. I hope that none of you who read this review put yourself through that mess called a golf course.
