To: Stop & Shop 28 Harrison Street New Rochelle, NY10801 CC: Corporate Office January 10, 2016 Re: Cashier Conflict/Complaint Dear Store Manager & Corporate Office, I am writing this notice to express a store complaint. On January 10, 2016, I recycled my Poland Springs water bottles at the machine except for 2 large Poland Springs bottles. I then went to the customer service desk to provide my receipt and hand in the 2 bottles, but there was a sign stating that customer service was closed and directed customers to go to the cash register. I shopped around for a little while and then went to the cash register with my groceries, my recycle receipt, and the 2 water bottles. When I went to the register, I asked the Cashier if Customer Service was still close and she did not respond. So I handed her my receipt and told her that I had the 2 bottles. The cashier responded with a bad attitude and told me that she does not take bottles. I then asked her if she did not take bottles then who would. She did not respond, and stormed away from the register and spoke to another associate. When the cashier returned to the register, she did not say anything to me and continued to ring up my groceries. She ignored the fact that I wanted to recycle the 2 large bottles. I asked her again and she responded with a nasty attitude that she did not take bottles. I told her that she did not have great customer service. The cashier answered even nastier and told me that she does have customer service when it’s not a difficult customer. She continued to engage and respond in a controversial, argumentative, and hostile manner. She told me that she would stop talking when I stopped talking, which was really unprofessional! She had even put my groceries on the other register next to her and tried to move on to the customer behind me. The line was backed up and the customers behind me were getting annoyed. I told her I was not moving until my things were rung up. She told me that I was indeed moving. I stood there and asked for a Store Manager. The cashier stormed away from the register again and came over with another associate. I explained to the 2nd cashier that all I wanted from the beginning was to provide my receipt for my recycling and to add the 2 large bottles, which was just 10 cents. The 2nd cashier was so professional and told me that she could do that for me. Meanwhile, as the 2nd cashier was processing my transaction, the first cashier was behind her making unprofessional and inappropriate comments towards me and saying«Oh My God over 10 cents.» I think she missed the whole point. The 2nd cashier even told her to stop. That first cashier never rung up my groceries so the 2nd cashier had to take me to the next register and ring up my groceries. She was very apologetic and very professional so I really appreciated her help. I have been a customer at Stop & Shop in New Rochelle for over 10 years. Due to this unprofessional experience, I will never spend one cent at this store. With all the Supermarkets surrounding this neighborhood, I would rather give them my business. Also, in case this cashier did not know how she gets her wages/salary, it’s from the customers. Without customers, she does not have a job. I hope someone explains that to her. Finally, I will send a copy of this notice to the store and to corporate office. The customer service was very poor. I will hope that this matter is looked into so that another customer(s) does not experience this. Very Dissatisfied Customer

I was disappointed in this supermarket. It was confusing to find, there’s no cell phone signal in the store, the selection reminds me of any NYC supermarket, etc. Totally not worth it. We just moved to the area so I am hunting for the supermarkets that will be my go tos. Shop Rite was an improvement but not stellar. Next I will check out Fairway closer to my neighborhood.

Probably the best and most convenient place in all of the failed experiment that was New Roc City. It’s a little strange that they would even put this supermarket this close to their«Super» Stop & Shop sister location just under a mile away, but it is what it is I suppose. With both locations, they end up sandwiching their Shop Rite competitor — might have been done on purpose now that I think about it. This location is a pretty standard Stop & Shop location. I often frequent the one in Yonkers and walking inside this one, I already knew where most things were and it was almost as if I was in Yonkers since they look pretty identical aside from a few cosmetic differences. Stop & Shop can range in prices and at times they’re a little pricier than their competitors, but a few extra pennies is not going to hinder me, because they are generally convenient with spacious aisles. My biggest Stop & Shop gripe is the fact that they generally don’t carry some select items that other places carry, but the same could be said about everywhere. Like all locations, they have several self checkout lanes with someone always standing by to help those who can’t understand how to do it.(Really, there should be an IQ requirement for using self checkout). The store is pretty clean and the staff is generally friendly. The biggest difference from the locations I go to is the indoor parking garage here which is nice for those rainy days where you still need to do your food shopping. It’s actually not a bad indoor lot and most drivers should be able to navigate it(though obviously some people can’t drive to save their lives to begin with). Located on the tail end of New Roc City, it’s not a bad alternative supermarket shopping wise locally. It’s sister store and even Shop Rite are larger locations, but you still can’t do wrong coming here. And it’s much better than it’s mess of a location in White Plains.

So sad today, Stop and Shop in New Rochelle at Harrison Ave. It’s been my favorite store I went there at least 3 times a week, but today a woman in charge of the table samples of ham and fruits was simply rude and she obviously reflect her lack of education and professionalism. It is sadly because this store have the most amazing staff(the men who works in fruit and vegetables section is awesome as well the bakery staff) but this woman who has short hair and today was wearing a really not appropriate dress to work in a grocery store where the main costumers are families is so disrespectful and rude.

My supermarket !! It is never crowded and there is plenty of parking. Items are always fully stocked. The prices are good and always have sales/promotions going on. Most employees are nice and helpful only twice did I have an issue with an employee like One women had the Audacity to yell at me and accuse me of stealing a coupon but she thought wrong and then apologized. Overall a nice place to get your food shopping done quick and save money

Standard grocery store– neither high-end nor low-end. Not crowded on a Saturday afternoon. Odd that the store is hidden away in the back of a parking garage, rather than being along the street, with parking behind the store.
