Modell’s Sporting Goods

Either this place is very busy or customer service is not the concept they embrace. Overall, the staff is nice but it is hard to find them to help you. The merchandise this sufficient and good quality

An ok Modell’s for a quick fix… but that’s probably about it.
I’ve been to several Modell’s over the years and they range of course to stock, employees, and everything else. I’m not normally a fan of New Roc City, but figured I would try the Modell’s at this location since it was convenient for me at the time. Pretty much the worst Modell’s I’ve been in and I’ve been there a small handful of times.
Unlike some of it’s sister stores, the stock quality here is poorer. Granted, they don’t have the large space like the other locations do, but I was disappointed to find that the selection from sneakers down to sweatshirts were not that great.
Several non-​sale items were in sale racks, so I had a brief level of excitement at getting something for a much cheaper price, but quickly released it was just poor stock workers — normally it’s customers who leave things in the wrong spot, but you’re talking about 3 of the same item nicely tucked in the wrong rack and it wasn’t the only one.
The employees here aren’t that great and out of the Modell’s I’ve been to, are probably the worst from the ho-​hum cashier I have the unfortunate pleasure of dealing with to one of the floor workers who thought he was some sort of tough guy trying to stare me down (please pal, you wouldn’t last 30 seconds outside the store).
If you need something like clothing or sneakers from a Modell’s, chances are they MIGHT have what you’re looking for at this location. If you’re looking for equipment and such, you’d surely be better off in another location.
Located inside on the second floor at that New Roc City — you have the option of metered street parking or the inside parking garage. If you’re able, you’d have an overall easier time driving down 3 miles down to Pelham and parking in the free lot and entering a larger Modell’s. Just an option to consider…

I ran in on my way to a football game because I forgot my team shirt. They don’t normally carry women’s fan gear, which kind of sucks, but they happened to have a return from another store! One shirt, in my size and I was happy as a clam!
