My wife and I have eaten here a number of times over the past two years. It’s our go-to Italian restaurant in the area, and we are never disappointed. Steve, the owner, always comes out to speak to his guests and makes you feel very welcome. We have never had a bad meal and the fish specials are always very good. If you are looking for very good Italian food, reasonable wine prices and a nice atmosphere, this is the place.

I ordered takeout pizza not too long ago and received a thin crust mhargerita pizza that looked very sloppy when I opened the box. It looked like it was too hot and too soft when they took it quickly out of the oven. First time to try it and having second thoughts about going back.

It’s New Years Eve, we made reservation via Unilocal for 8:30, arrived at 8 to check in. The hostess informed us that they do not use Unilocal for reservations and they stopped seating at 7:00. My husband and I were a little upset and walked out. We got half way to the car and someone was shouting at us to stop. The owner had followed us out to apologize and told us that we are welcome to come in and eat. The menu was limited to pizza, prime rib and duck due to the kitchen already being broken down to be cleaned for the night. We went back in and ordered sangria and pizza. It was AMAZING. The owner was very attentive to the customers and our waiter was great. We will definitely be coming back next time we come down for vacation!

HUGE portions! We had to have every course boxed but it was so worth it. Absolutely delicious and wonderful attentive service! Bravo!

We visited on a Tuesday evening and had efficient, friendly service. I like the décor and the amount of items on the menu. We were craving pizza so ordered a large with tomatoes, fresh garlic, bacon, and mushrooms. The mushrooms were the best part. The pizza was pretty good, but not my favorite in the area. I think it needed more flavor; sprinkling some parmesan cheese helped. We also had the calamari appetizer. I wasn’t a fan – very chewy, and again, could have used salt. I usually am not one who likes things super salty, so I think they just under-seasoned everything.

Had a very nice dinner here last night with friends who recommended Taso. Overall very good meal had by all. Classic traditional Italian done very well. Only issue we had was the way the Romaine lettuce was cut for the Caesar. They needed another divide as the leaves were flopping and a challenge to eat. Could use a few more Italian wines on the list but could be based on clientele. We’ll go back again.

Was excited about trying a new pizza place based on a recommendation from a friend. Unfortunately we were very disappointed about the quality of both the food and the service. My husband and I did not find the atmosphere to be very friendly and the server was not the most attentive. For example, we ordered the meatball appetizer(which was delicious) but when we were finished, she asked if we wanted to keep the sauce. I answered, «yes», and she took the bowl off the table and brought it to the kitchen. The pizza sauce did not have much flavor and the crust did not have a good bend to it like a NY style pizza should. We will not be dining at this establishment again.

Great food with an attention to detail! Excellent drinks and nice wine selection. Owner and staff make you feel very welcome. Try the white pizza, chicken franchese and the antipasto, all my favorites. Ambiance is just right. Sabrina at the front will keep you entertained while waiting for your take out!

Great food and wonderful service. We went out for a date night and the server made sure that we were able to relax and have a slow paced meal. There was no rushing us, despite the fact that the restaurant was filling up. The band started to play half way thru out meal and it was not loud at all in the dining room and quite enjoyable. Good sized portions. We will definitely be back!

Ordered food to go. Had the spaghetti bolognese with ricotta, This was delicious. The side salad is small but good. The reason for 3 stars is the Italian bread they gave with the meal was full of mold on the inside.

Maybe it’s bad luck but the 3 times we have been there my husband and I have not been impressed. Ordered different items off the menu and I was dissapointed. We sat at the the for a while before we were asked for our drinks. I don’t think we will be returning.

Not so good anymore. I used to love their pizzas and salads. It seems like they are so busy now the quality of the food and service has declined. The staff look stressed and unorganized. Our pizza was burnt, the spaghetti was over sauced and the sauce flavors are umbalanced. They are in need of good management to handle the increased workload.

Hit or miss Italian. I’ve been when the food has been great and when it hasn’t…same for the live music. But decent, non-chain restos aren’t in plenty in this area, so for a local night out visiting family, it’s a good option.

We’ve eaten at Taso’s twice and have gotten take-out probably about 6 or 7 times and have never been disappointed. The first time we tried it we dined in and it everything we had was absolutely delicious. The Spinach & Artichoke Rangoons were on special so we decided to try them and they were so good we were fighting over the last one! I tried the Fruta di Mare fra diavolo style and it was the best I have had outside of NY. Taso even came over after a while and asked if the sauce was too spicy but it wasn’t — just a perfect marriage of tomatoes, garlic, herbs and pepper. My wife tried the Fish in Fillo which was made with basa this night and again a home run in the flavor department. My daughter had a 10″ Margherita pizza which is now her favorite pizza in the Trinity area. My wife and I returned again and decided to put together a surf and turf for ourselves consisting of the 14 oz Delmonico Au Poivre and the Shrimp and Scallops Scampi. The steak was cooked perfectly medium-rare as we like it and the seafood was fresh an served with a flavorful scampi sauce over rice pilaf. Taso uses Black Angus reserve steaks and the quality is obvious as it literally melted in our mouths. Yum! We finished the night off by splitting a tiramisu that was one of the best we’ve had in a long time. We’ve also gotten take out which has included the Grandma pizza(like Sicilian just not as thick of a crust) and were amazed at how good it tasted. They have the best pizza in the Trinity area. I’ve tried the Five Families which is a great choice for someone who wants to sample their ravioli, manicotti, stuffed shell, sausage and meatballs in one meal. Did I mention the meatball? I have never had such a tender tasty meatball except for Mamas! My wife recently tried the Penne Stoli with grilled chicken and raved about how good it was so I have to try some. The sauce was light and delicate but packed with flavor. I love the fact that the owner, who also is one of the chef’s, comes out and walks around the dining room to see how all of his customers are. Taso is a great guy who is very proud of his food and you can tell by the big smile on his face when he talks about it. I would disregard the one review advising to avoid this place as this Unilocaler didn’t even try the food. I’m not sure why he didn’t try to talk to the hostess as I am sure they would have rectified the situation.

AVOIDTHISPLACE! It was my wife and I anniversary this past Friday night and we wanted to try this Italian Restaurant out, we live rite down the street from here. I have heard from friends about the great food here. We walked in at around 5pm, there was about 20 tables and half of them were taken, we were immediately seated. There were two other couples seated after us. We sat at our table for over 15 minutes, we were not greeted by a server, we were not offered drinks, we were not acknowledged by any of the servers, then my wife and I were baffled to see both tables that came in after us were getting drinks. My wife just stood up and walked out the door, I went up to the owner to let him know of our very unpleasant experience here, I attempted to get his attention as he talked to another table in his chef coat and he would acknowledge me. We didn’t want this ugly experience to ruin our anniversary night. We ended up having a incredibly dinner for a fraction of the costs at Anthony Italian Restaurant.

Just don’t see all the hype. Granted this is my first time here, But the chicken in the chicken Parm was rather hard and dry… I’m guessing frozen. If we could do half stars I would give 3 ½ due to the attentiveness of the staff.

Family owned and operated. I am from an Italian heritage family and was born in Brooklyn NY. Tried this place for the first time tonight and it was amazing. Try the Five Families plate. Pizza is very rustic and authentic Italia. Owner is very personable and passionate about his food.
