Their House Special Egg Foo Young, Boneless Spare Ribs, Crab Rangoon, and the fact if you show up right at closing they will usually cook for you makes this place one I frequent.

Admittedly being a native New Yorker my expectations regarding Chinese food are high but I can usually find passable enough Chinese food here in Florida for the past 23 years. Unfortunately I didn’t find it here. Since I reside in a, community right behind the shopping center it was convenient to order from New China. My first impression was inside and out appears to be unclean. My first order of Szechuan shrimp dinner was very disappointing. Five shrimp in a mass of broccoli and vegetables. The fried rice has an extremely greasy taste to it as I have never experienced. The next time my bourbon chicken dinner was actually barbequed chicken. Again the fried rice had an unpleasant greasy taste. I will go the extra distance next time and wouldn’t recommend.

I just tried to order from this place. When I said I wanted it delivered the first thing she brings up is delivery is only for $ 20 or over. I told her that would not be a problem. Then she asked for my address and I gave it to her. I heard a foreign language(Chinese?) spoken rapidly to a man who responded in kind and I was told they will not deliver that far away? I was surprised because I know exactly where they are and estimated it might be a 10 minute drive … I told her so and there was more foreign fast talk. She came back with no again that they only deliver within five miles«or something like that» and I said goodbye and wished her well. I can take a hint and when someone makes it obvious they do not want my money I do my best not to give them any of it. I looked it up just to see if I was off and I was … it’s 3.7 miles and Google estimates it is a 9 minute drive. Food might be pretty good but I’ll never know …

We have ordered from here consistently over the last few years and its usually great. Its been slow or late maybe twice in a few years. Food is plentiful and well priced for the amount you get. Its always steaming hot as well!

For the 6 or 7 years I’ve lived in West Pasco, my usual fast food Chinese fix has often come from New China. They’re just a little place, squeezed into a shopping plaza which is typical for these under-appreciated but dearly loved niche restaurants. There are actually 3 of these places I hit in this area. They all do one thing better than the other. For New China, it’s the Chicken Teriyaki sticks. They use dark«chicken» meat, so it’s more tender(fatty) and generally cooked perfectly so it’s not dry. Their lunch special is great too. They have a large variety of combos for only $ 4.65 + tax which ends up being exactly $ 5. So… as my final days here in West Pasco approach, I leave with a tip of my hat to you New China. Thanks for filling mah bellay for all these years.
