What a lovely getaway we had at this place! Such a cozy and romantic little house, very well-taken care of. Very private, nicely decorated. The owner is very respectful, keeps you posted on everything you need to know and her«morning baskets» with home-made baked goods were to-die-for. You have pretty full refrigerator so you can cook your own breakfast or just a snack. Lots of coffee and teas to choose from. Very happy with the place.

My girlfriend planned an amazing graduation retreat for me graduating college to New Paltz, NY for ice climbing and a B&B, but I never could have wished for a more awesome trip! Krystine booked an ice climbing trip with Alpine Adventures/Rock & Snow in town and it was the best ice climbing experience I ever had! She made accommodations for use to stay at the White Heron B&B and it was the by far the best B&B I have ever stayed at. Good job on knowing me so well, Krys! :) Anyways, Amy, the keeper, is an excellent cook that delivered homemade baked goods to our door each morning(even in time for ice climbing!!). I shared one of the delicious blueberry banana gluten free muffins she made with the ice climbing guide and he too was impressed! The best part of the B&B, besides the spiritual yoga like ambiance of the cottage, was that Amy had it stocked with Starbucks coffee and a good wine/chocolate for me and Krys when we arrived. I’ve stayed at a lot of B&B’s but the White Heron is by far the nicest and most private feeling of them all, and Amy keeps an amazing place there. Thank you and we can’t wait to come back!

When I saw the photos of this place, I was sold. It does not disappoint at all. Just a gorgeous place, completely private and super comfortable with wonderful touches everywhere. The robes and towels are thick, and the Amma hair products smell glorious. Amy left us all manner of good things to eat and drink, and we did not want for anything. She’s an accomplished baker, and if you’re gluten free, the blueberry muffins are really special. Situated just a couple of minutes from the Walkill Valley Rail Trail, The White Heron is perfectly located for any of you who wants to spend as much time on that wonderful area feature as possible. We did two hour hikes each day, one trek down to New Paltz and one trek to Rosendale. If you’d rather bike than hike, then don’t leave yours at home! It’s a short drive to NP, and then about twenty minutes down to The Ranch, for any of you looking to sky dive.
