Astoria, NY
Great local shop that has been around since the early 70’s in New Paltz. Perfect for unique handmade gifts. I remember (back 35 years ago) I used to go there and buy amazing stickers and noise-​maker instruments made out of interesting things. The clothing store upstairs used to be called UpFront Clothes, that was a great store that eventually was just absorbed into Handmade & More. Great shop, stop by, SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES!!!

I love this store. In general, I think a lot of their items are overpriced, but I find shopping there to be fun. They have so many different items that you don’t see everywhere else — fun stuff, especially for gifts — and not junk! I like that they gift wrap for free. I’ve had very positive experiences with the clerks here.

I give Handmade & More five stars for their selection. I found a great wallet there, made in the USA.
I’m taking two stars off for the prices, however. I prefer to shop at independent stores, and I don’t mind paying more to support local small businesses. I don’t expect them to beat Amazon’s price, however, the manufacturer of the wallet I bought sells it for $ 25 on their website, and Handmade charged me $ 42. That seems too high.
