This was by far the worst Mexican food I’ve ever had. The service was fine, and the owners seemed like really lovely people; unfortunately, good service doesn’t make up for rubber shrimp, a lack of cheese, undercooked rice, and no refried beans. The prices were outrageously high for what we received, and they charged for soda refills without first warning us. Avoid.

Just went there with a Groupon for 4. We couldn’t have been more disappointed. The food was so incredibly small it was ridiculous! The ‘Tootsie’ roll was $ 15.99 and didn’t even have an ounce of beef… just lettuce in a wrap. We were the only ones in there… no surprise! Time for them to close the doors!

Honestly, might be the worst Mexican food I’ve ever had in CT. Service wasn’t terrible as in they were eager to please but the food was so bad you couldn’t be pleased. Asked for spicy guacamole and had to then request jalapeño after being told they don’t have habanero. How does a Mexican restaurant not have habanero sauce? Ridiculous. We were finally given hot sauce(wtf) to add a bit of heat. Fajitas were overcooked. I could go on, but I won’t. Skip it.

Good food, friendly staff and stiff drinks. Had two very delicious margaritas as well as a cheese quesadilla, chimichanga and stuffed jalapeños which were all very tasty. Staff, an older woman and man, were friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back, a perfect place for drinks and apps.

Had to revise my last review, unfortunately, after going back again for most likely the last time. I wasn’t super hungry when I went for dinner with my boyfriend so I just ordered a «Popeye salad.» It was supposed to be spinach, tomato, cucumber, queso fresco and balsamic. I asked for shrimp on it, as well. My salad was tiny, made up of all iceberg lettuce and there were maybe 3 butterflied shrimp which tasted like gasoline. I couldn’t even eat them, they were so disgusting. Oh and there was absolutely no queso fresco or any kind of cheese for that matter. I’m done giving this place more chances, especially at their prices. It’s unfortunate this place is no good because they owner is extremely nice.

We were the only people people in the restaurant and it still took the waitress 20 minutes to take our order because she was too busy talking. The food was awful. Not worth spending the money.

Yay. Mexican food close to home and a good restaurant in a seriously lacking area! Everything was delicious. We had tacos, fajitas and a shrimp dish. The chips and salsa are fresh. Sopapilla was sooo good, we were fighting over the last bites! The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgable. We Probably will be returning this weekend.

Been here twice now for dinner. Prices are high for what you get and the food is just«ok». You might as well eat at a chain type Mexican place and save a few bucks. Place is small and you feel cramped inside with their small tables. Just not an enjoyable experience worth recommending.

The owner and staff are friendly and personable and the food is delicious. I highly recommend the flautas and chimichangas as I’ve had both so far and they were both so good! Their salsa is fresh and yummy, so is their guacamole… You should definitely give it a try!

This was our 2nd meal here. Once for lunch, once for dinner. Both times, the food was fresh and delicious. The service was excellent, all the staff was friendly and attentive. We will go back to try the home made desserts!

This is a new restaurant and I am being generous with my stars. The service was a little slow and it appeared one waiter was tending to all the customers. The prices are high. On average an entrée is $ 15. The table-side guacamole was pretty good and the staff members seem friendly. However our glasses stayed empty for a long time while the waiter was running around tending to other tables. The cheese enchiladas, finger tacos and soapapilas are pretty good. The table next to us had fajitas and they looked and smelled delicious. We will definitely be back to try that out. One thing that stood out that my husband didn’t care for was the extra charge for a refill of soda. Considering the very high priced entrees you would think the soda refill would be complimentary. We hope they work out the kinks, hire a few more staff members and lose the soda tariff. Our bill was $ 50. I don’t think that was fair for what we got. Best of luck Mariachi’s. Options in the area for good Mexican food are slim. We hope you stick around.
