My favorite gayborhood spot! Super chill and divey with good vibes and good people… AND they have a jukebox.

Decided to have a beer at another watering hole in New London. Been to many over the years and it was time to pay a visit to O’Neils. Yes, the beer was cold, the staff and patrons seemed friendly enough. But what would it take to leave a visitor wanting more? Why not start by scrubbing/mopping the floors so they don’t look and sound dirty under foot? Add some lighting in an otherwise creepily dark interior.(But not without cleaning up the floors first!) And, how about renting a pressure washer and ridding the back deck area of some pretty impressive paint deterioration that you know didn’t happen overnight. Sorry folks, but neglect is neglect and owners are rude for expecting patrons to put up with it. Especially when they know it is the only show in town for many.

Always a blast! Such a great vibe and fun environment; I can’t wait for more karaōke nights in my future. Also, the white sangria is amazing!

Delightful drink after a long days work with fav locals. Bartender Bob is serving it up with style & hilariousness. All the bartenders here ‘know your name’ after u’ve visited. Pick your fav music on the digital jukebox. Late night dancing & outside deck.

Came in town for work and wanted to have a drink in a gay friendly place. Vibe– dive bar, small town club. Not very many people. Went on a Wednesday and Thursday night. Venue — has a nice deck overlooking the water. One pool table in the corner near the front. Staff — Super friendly Prices — Cheap Had a great time with my colleagues, would visit again if in town.

The Brass Rail is a THE gay place to be in New London. With more than 10 years of service to New London and the surrounding areas gay population, the Rail is the toast of the town. I have been going to the Rail almost as long as it has been open. It was my first gay 21+ bar. Now they allow 18+ since the opening of their expansion. Donny and Abie are staples as the Rail and always serve it’s customers with the utmost respect. I have never had a bad experience. The drinks are good and they always have a bar menu available to patrons. The bar also a full menu during lunch and happy hour. And have an especially great Sunday brunch. On the weekend the bar brings in a variety of female impersonators, which are very talented and entertaining. Even though I no longer live in the New London area I make it a priority to visit the Rail every time I’m in town. The business is «family» friendly and to family supporters.

O’Neill’s Brass Rail is one of last gay and lesbian bars in New London or Eastern Connecticut. The owner is gay and his family has owned the business for a very long time. They have drag shows on select Saturday Nights. They also have dancing on Friday and Saturdays. They have a great patio that overlooks the river. They serve lunch and dinner too. It is open 7 days a week. The age range is 21 to 71. It has a huge mixed crowd of Gay Guys and Lesbian Ladies. It’s a great place to go in Downtown New London.
