The restaurant is beautiful. The food is marginally OK at best. Wait staff were great.

The beers were good, but any fried foods we ordered were soaking in grease. We ordered a basket of onion rings to start and as we started getting to the bottom of the basket, realized they were sitting in a huge puddle of grease. Same goes for the nachos and fried clams. Even my salmon was greasy. Would go back for more beer and maybe try some different foods.

Good craft beer for the area, fine service, decent apps. Wish the patio would really open up in the summer, instead of enclosing it consistently.

Good American dining and tasty beer. Food was fresh and prepared well. Atmosphere was clean with great views of Kearsarge, solar panels, and hop gardens. We did lunch, dinner would be a little on the pricey side but probably worth the visit.

This restaurant and pub is in an absolutely beautiful spot in the Lakes region of NH. Nice place to stop if traveling up and down INST89 in between Concord and Lebanon. Our food order was a Caesar salad, a kid’s pizza, and kid’s slider meal. Salad was good, but little overdressed. Pizza looked like it might have been frozen, but my daughter loved it. Sliders were also a hit. We got brownie sundae and a root beer float for dessert. Everything was fine, but not very homemade tasting. Feel like a bit more effort could go into making things from scratch. Chocolate stout was also delicious.

Food was OK. Concert with Garrett Rogers was better. The craft beers are pretty good. moved up recently so we are still getting used to the food. Have fond some truly superior places in NH but this isn’t one of them. The food wasn’t bad, mind you, but certainly not a standout. For appetizer I had the Onion Soup which was supposed to be really great. It was — Onion Soup. No more, no less. I had some beef dish next which was equally ok. Nothing to write home about. Will probably give it another go around when another good concert comes to the place. For music, the setting is very intimate and its a great experience.

First visit to listen to music, Garrett Rogers a Canadian folk singer who was very good. Service was top notch and the food was good as well. The onion soup is a crowd pleaser and it was great. BBQ platter was okay. Burger was very good. Will return for another visit

We have lived in the area for almost 20 years and have been to the flying goose several times. The food and drinks are average for a pub but the service is consistently awful. They seem to put put out to have to serve the customer.

Went for date night with the hubby and had amazing food and service. Very rustic and warm. The beer is amazing. My recommendation is the duck carbonara and Isle of pines beer. The beer brings out the flavor of the food. They also have amazing French onion soup. I am a foodie and went to culinary arts school. I am a food snob, so when I tell you the was food was f*&#! $g amazing, I mean it! If you haven’t been there yet you don’t know what you are missing.

At first glance, Flying Goose looks like an unreformed 90’s brewpub, but I promise you it isn’t. The fries aren’t very good, that’s my only real complaint. Yes, there are a ton of knickknacks on the walls and lots of cheap wood, but the beer has been updated and some of the food is pretty good. I’m a pretty big fan of their double IPA which is approaching 9% alcohol, but doesn’t taste like it. The Belgian style beers are pretty good as well. The burgers here use local beef, but aren’t crazy expensive($ 10-$ 12). I ordered the bacon and bleu cheese burger which came with an absurd amount of bleu cheese, which I was certainly a fan of. It was a good burger, I’d certainly come back for one. 89 between Concord and Montpelier, while not quite a deadzone, is lacking good places to stop for a meal. Fortunately, Flying Goose has become a pretty good stopping point.

Quality of food does not support high prices. Craft beers are good but food ruins the experience. Key lime pot roast was really bad, hard to believe anyone could screw up pot roast. The goose needs some work.

We arrived without reservations, and requested a window seat, knowing the beautiful view of Mt. Kearsage the restaurant has. We expected a long wait, but thought it would be well worth it in the end. We ordered drinks at the bar, to help pass the time. And to our surprise they actually filled your wine glass up and didn’t skimp. We were then happily seated about 35 minutes later, by a window. We waited about 20 minutes for our waitress, which happened to be a repeat thing all night. We wouldn’t see her for long periods of time(ranging from 20 – 25 minutes). For our starters we ordered, Fried Mushrooms, Cream of Mushroom Soup, and a bowl of French Onion Soup. For our entrees, Haddock with Watermelon Salsa, and a Gorgonzola Salad with Sweet Potatoes on the side. The food was great, and cooked just right. Our only complaint would be the time gaps of seeing our waitress,(and trying to get extra drinks, napkins, and sauces). Which seemed like a daunting task all evening. We would recommend this place and go back, just expect some delays. Our bill was 65.75 and we were satisfied with the price considering all the food we ordered. #CriticsForEats

The beers are brewed there — the selection is huge and always changing– and there is a beer for everyone! The place is powered by the sun and heated with wood– probably enough said right there. The food ranges from comfort to a touch trendy and their focus on local quality ingredients is clear plus they have a large selection of specials everyday. Favorite app — jalapeños poppers. If you are in the Kearsarge Sunapee Region and you wanna have dinner with the family or watch the game and have a beer or do both– then this is where you want to go!

The food is Expensive, the staff is not trained, bartenders are not friendly at all. Sat at the bar, the bartender ignored us until the end. Not sure why this place is busy other than its the only bar in New London.

I found out the best way to beat the crowds at this place. Make a reservation. It makes the world of difference. Twice now we’ve made reservations and it’s gone wonderfully. Window seats overlooking the spectacular scenery of Mount Kearsarge. And avoid the 45-minute wait at the lobby. Each time, our reservation has been honored on the spot by the courteous staff. The first thing worth noting is their beers. Bitters, lagers, stouts, Hefeweizen, Abbey Style Dubbel, you name it. Then the appetizers. Their nachos are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. We also tried their calamare as an appetizer. Overall, superb. Then the main courses: Great brisket. Superb roasts. For those into burgers, they’re tasty. And unlike other places, they allow substitutions. Their salads are also large and appetizing, having had one as a main course with the salmon steak instead of the carbo-laden side dish. Their Cobb Salad is particularly noteworthy. The one recommendation I would have is to have a food tasting day when the staff gets to try their selections. That would be an immeasurable help for their staff to recommend menu items to customers. Flying Goose is a definite«must go» in the Lakes Region.

Great food(I had the fried clams… delish!!!) and the atmosphere is interesting. The design of the place is very nice and the views from the dinning room are amazing! Will visit again when we’re back in the area. Definitely recommended.

3.5 Stars. New Hampshire should change their motto to: Drink good Beer or Die… and I could live by that motto. Flying goose has an amazing selection of home brews that are just plain divine and varied. I loved the oatmeal stout(a rich hearty Guinness type brew) and the Wild flower Honey Ale(a delightfully light and aromatic brew that had hints of honey). Food is a pale second in this fun establishment but heck its New London and there ain’t a lot of choices out here in the hinterlands. Service is where things are not the best. Perhaps it is a New Hampshire thing or a New England thing but help is sort of off putting. None the less if you find yourself in these neck of the woods, belly up to the bar and have a tasty pint!
