Have driven by 2 Wives so many times, glad I finally stopped by! We went for my nephews bday dinner on a Sunday evening, not too crowded, bigger inside than I thought it would be. We ordered pizza. .. I CANNOTWAIT to go back and have another Thai chicken vegi pizza again. Small is 8″ round, thin crust, brick oven baked — enough for dinner than lunch the next day. It was sweet, hot, peanut buttery and full of delicious vegis. Our party also ordered the Cuban sandwich, a fish dinner and an assortment of other great looking pies. Service was wonderful, thoughtful, patient and kind. I pretty much only drink water which makes many servers roll their eyes. I’d rather spend my money and calories on the food. Trust me, my repeat business and word of mouth capabilities far outweigh what I could drink ;) Everyone loved it, I can’t wait for another Thai chicken pizza!

Talk about unorganized. We walked in at dinner time on a Thursday night the place had a decent crowd. We walked up to the hostess desk and waited to be seated. The hostess was walking around like it was her first day. She kept avoiding us not even making eye contact. Then more people came in and the line was getting longer and longer. She never came over so we sat ourselves at the bar which was first come first serve. We were sitting there and a waiter gave us some menus. While we were sitting there watching the chaos the couple next to us was talking about leaving and going somewhere else seeing they’ve been sitting there for 30 minutes and no one had even asked them what they wanted to drink. So they left. We waited another 10 minutes and then we left due to the fact no one even came over to us. That was the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced.

Our first trip to 2 wives and we were thoroughly impressed. Super friendly and helpful waitress… she recommended bacon on our bar b q chicken pizza and she couldn’t have been more spot on! Nice selection of draft beers featuring a local brew or two. We enjoyed the peach ale. Two thumbs up for 2 wives pizza! We will be returning!

I am a little surprised at the pizza reviews for this place. We started with the buffalo chips and they were awesome. The desert was very good too, but the pizza… well pretty boring. I would say a 4 – 5 out of 10, just nothing special at all, hardly no sauce and little flavor. We would go back and try some other things if in the area but would probably pass if looking for good pizza.

Seriously. the best pizza I ever had in my life. We made our own with grilled red onion, pepperoni, and baby spinach. Seriously amazing! To the point we had it twice in a row for dinner. Will miss this place. A must visit if you are in the area!

Looking for a great Italian restaurant? This is the best place in New London. There is usually a wait because the food is so good! The drinks are great, the pizzas are delicious, and the entrees are amazing. Everything is fresh and the waiters are very accommodating and friendly.

Not crazy for 2 Wives as most others are. I do appreciate the vegan cheese(Daiya) option and therefor I am a fan. Tasty, brick oven pizza, with more vegan options than most pizza places.

I did take out tonight. A small buffalo chicken pizza and a turkey panini on white. Damn. I gobbled the pizza up before the car made it’s way back to the hotel. My son took the turkey panini with him and loved it. Wasn’t sure what to expect and was hesitant because of some past reviews. I was met as I walked in the door to a woman coming towards me asking if I had called in an order(I was a party of one picking up). She was kind, went into the back and got my sandwich and said it just came out of the oven and she had my pizza ready. I really can’t wait to come back and try more pizza toppings. Don’t let the few negative reviews make you wonder, it was worth it.

Disappointing. Friendly, attentive service but the food was not great. It reminded me a bit of microwave pizza to be honest. I had the Margarita and it was bland. Sauce tasted like straight tomato sauce and the cheese was rubbery.

Five stars for both the pizza(bbq chicken with added bacon and pineapple, as well as the Thai chicken pizza from the menu) and the service! We sat at a high top on a Tuesday afternoon and Angela, our quirky and prompt waitress, was accommodating and timely. Hubby and I felt right at home, met with smiles from the moment we walked in the door all throughout the meal. The drinks were delicious, pizza piping hot and savory, and the buffalo chips we got to start were addictive. I’ve found my new go-to pizza place in the area.

We Unilocaled 2 Wives from the road, on our way to the ferry to Orient. Saturday evening and the place was packed with a projected 35 minute wait for a take out order. Thanked them but we would miss the last ferry. The hostess brought us to the pizza chef, who said no problem … he took our order and we were walking out the door with our order 15 minutes later. How nice was that? And we met the owner’s parents while we waited. Nice folks. This place is aces. Oh, btw, the pizza is really good too. Love the thin crust.

2Wives is an enjoyable and friendly place to eat, not your typical pizza joint, and has its own lot for easy parking, a big plus for the downtown New London. As a whole foods vegan, I eat here only the pizza with vegan cheese and whole wheat crust. The crust is thin and crispy, just right. A few years ago, they switched brands of vegan cheese from Daiya to Follow Your Heart[burn]. The improvement is substantial, as FYH has a subtle but agreeable flavor, whereas Daiya tastes only of salt. Regrettably, however, 2 Wives runs out-of-stock of either their vegan cheese or their whole wheat crust a quarter of the times I have attempted to eat there. When both the vegan cheese and the whole wheat crust are in-stock, they really do get their pizza right, else why would I eat here nearly once a month, or rather, try to. Because now I know to ask if both are available before I even sit down, and if one is unavailable, I simply turn around and leave, though I sometimes have a hard time convincing my dining companions to do the same.

Pizza taste great! Lots of toppings even if you get a one topping. They forgot the chicken on our buffalo chips but the mistake as fixed very fast. Pizza was tasty and fresh. The food did take about 30 mins but we were not in any hurry. Great ambiance. A good place to with a bunch of friends.

Went for dinner/event for retirement party. Start out by saying there was 20 of us and on the same night it was a local«walk about» for local fare so it was busy. Our waitress was attentive and seemed to be on top of her game. Great beer selection and food was awesome. Our party tried the Pesto, four cheese and Matt’s pizza and all were different but in a great way. Good spin on the ordinary. The Matt’s pizza is a homage to a former employee who passed and it was his creation. Roasted pears, Gorgonzola cheese, and red onions on a thin crust. Will return !

This is the best pizza I’ve had so far in New London. On Wednesday’s, they have buy one get one free on their salads. The pizza we had was amazing. I can’t wait to go back.

Oh, I will miss this place(No it isn’t closed, keep reading). It is an oasis in New London. My only reason for going here is now gone: my sister who live in NL moved to New York. I’ll miss this place. Every time we visited we would have at least one meal here. There is parking but it’s limited but I usually find street parking close by. The place is open and airy with plenty of seating areas. The pizza oven area is open for all of the dinner to see. The servers here are always friendly. The beer selection is great. We normally order a veggie pie, a small mac and cheese and a plain cheese pie. Yes all for two people!(Don’t judge me!). However on our last and final visit we discovered something incredible… the Buffalo Chicken Pie! We’ve had our fair share of buffalo chicken pizza at other places and this was the greatest by far. We were saddened we hadn’t tried this pizza before. I have only good and tastey recollections of this restaurant. If you’re in the area and want good pizza this is the place.

Thank you Unilocal for helping me pick a spot on the fly when our first choice restaurant’s kitchen closed super early(9pm on a Friday, mind you). There’s a lot of good pizza in this area, but 2 Wives stood out because it seemed to have consistent reviews without the tourist trappings of Mystic Pizza. So glad I stopped by here. The buffalo chips were fairly good, but I think that they were just a bit too vinegary and definitely too salty. I want to love chips with buffalo chicken! I love me some thin crust pizza so that’s partially why I was excited about 2 Wives. Split a Black and Blue pizza(steak, garlic, bleu cheese) and it was amazing. Highly, highly recommend it if you want something a little nontraditional. Probably some of the best customer service I’ve had in a while in the NE(friendly, attentive, but not overbearing). He gave us solid recommendations and enough information to actually make decisions. I also think it’s adorable that they’re holding a pizza flavor picking contest for the local customers this month. Casual but cute atmosphere, and very good by the glass wine selection.
