This place is great, and Steve is the best — so friendly and down to earth! You can tell Steve genuinely cares about helping people and finding a way to fix whatever problem the customer has brought to him. It’s obvious this man has a true passion for his work and certainly knows his stuff! I brought him a pair of men’s(warn down) Harley boots that he re-soled/heeled and made to look like new again-beautiful work, just BEAUTIFUL! And at such a reasonable price too! Steve is a total sweetheart. The world would be a much nicer place if there were more kind and caring business men out there like this man! ;-) Brad B.- It’s hard work running a small business when everybody wants their stuff«NOW». Too bad you hadn’t been a lil more patient, as I’m sure the finished product would have been well worth the wait! ;-)

Wholly Cow now seems to have more regular hours — they’re actually posted on the window. They’re open every day except Sundays and Mondays. And Steve is still totally cool and knows how to work with leather.

This place is great. Contrary to brad B’s review, Wholly Cow has been around New Lenox for a long time and will continue to be a solid business. Steve is a great guy with a real love for leather and the knowledge to back it up. I’m sue the first issue with Brad was that he’s a grown man trying to dual wield weapons that require far higher skill levels, he probably doesn’t even wear plate armor. Brad, a bit of advice: real men never sheath their weapons. Back to Wholly Cow. The quality is unsurpassed. It’s high enough quality that you would rock it on your bike, and even on your day-to-day person as is the case with a wallet. I will definitely be going back, and you should definitely check them out.

DONOTTAKEYOURSADDLEHERE! I made the sad mistake of leaving my treasured reining saddle here to have the wool on the bottom replaced. I went to pick it up and my saddle was in complete disarray, the conchos were bent beyond belief and there are several gouges throughout. She also tore the seat! How in God’s name does a butchering like this occur? She also put the saddle back together completely wrong. What a joke, this place wont last long at all. Oh, and it’s going to cost me about $ 300 to fix the damage she did.

Horrible customer service sense. I wanted a sheath made for an axe and a draw knife. Told me 2 weeks. 9 weeks and promise after promise later, even being told that job was 50 percent done(not true), finally had enough run around and being strung along. Took my stuff and left, no apology either mind you. They never even called me once when they weren’t going to have my stuff done time after time. They don’t know how to run a business or treat customers. Got a feeling they won’t last.

Man, do I miss this place… The owner here does everything. You need a boot fixed? a belt shortened/lengthened? a pair of leather pants taken in a bit… or maybe you have an idea for a kick-ass leather cuff, but don’t have the equipment to do it yourself? Steve(I think that’s his name!) will do it for you-quality work. And dirt cheap, too.
