Salon meets art gallery at The Studio. I have never left The Studio with a bad haircut or a haircut I didn’t like. Terry is a true artist! I would give The Studio 6 stars, but Unilocal only goes up to 5 :(

If you’re an art enthusiast you owe yourself a trip to the Studio. The owner displays an interesting range of local artists and the works on show have been chosen with great care. I find the selections intimate, thought provoking and effective. There’s also a nice touch of whimsey with some of the selections. … and I got a phenomenal cut and color!

This is the only hair cut I’ve ever walked away with and been HAPPY! I had REALLY long(nearly waist length) curly hair, that most stylists don’t know what to do with or get really scissor happy with. …So needless to say I came to Terry(lovely owner, artist and stylist) with stringy hair that hadn’t been cut in well over 2 years. Well let me tell you, Terry gets it. She just gets it. I came to her vibrant micro-salon/art gallery/painting studio with an idea of what I wanted and by golly she really listened, and had me clarify things to ensure that there wasn’t any miscommunications. WOOHOO! Extra points to her for using sustainable earth lovin’ hair products! Master hair cut, charming atmosphere and excellent conversation for about half the price of what you’d pay for the same experience at any other salon. …and for the record, my hair is still long(yay)…it just looks WAY better! Thank you Terry!

Terry(owner and stylist of The Studio) has put so much love, care, and dedication into her Studio, and it shines through every single detail. A hair salon and art gallery mixed into one is such a novel idea, and The Studio pulls it off with aplomb! As Katie said, it smells amazing because of the candles she sells… who doesn’t want to smell a delicious wine-scented candle as they peruse the range of hair and skin products before their haircut? She then led me upstairs to her shampoo room and over the sink was the coolest wall I have ever seen! It was layered with spackle and all these different personal mementos were pressed into it: Half of a favorite chipped coffee cup, cool beads, a tiny Hershey candy. The art she sells is really cool too! She has different featured artists selling their work. Everything is just so different, but put together it looks amazing. Now the haircut… I am ALWAYS terrified to cut my hair short, change things up… but Terry surpassed anything I could have imagined. I went in with medium length, thin, scraggly hair and left with a short, adorable bob(which made my hair appear SO much thicker! A big deal for someone who’s always battled thin hair). She listened to exactly what I wanted and calmed me down right before she cut off all those inches(which I really needed, cutting my hair is a big deal for some reason). In short, go to The Studio. It truly is a fun, funky, ‘cutting’ edge(Get it… CUTTING? Haha) salon and gallery. GOTHERE. You won’t regret it.
