Christmas Past is a bit cramped but otherwise stocked with quality ornaments and other holiday decorations. I was on a gingerbread mission when I visited since I was shopping for someone obsessed with all things gingerbread. At first I only saw a cute stocking holder, but one of the staff members was able to direct me to some fairly hidden gingerbread-related items. I’d say if you’re on the search for a particular item, don’t spend time browsing — just ask. They’ll be happy to help you/cue you in on items that aren’t easily visible from a quick look.

On November 16, 2015, it breaks my heart to say, the Christmas store down the street in its own building was long gone — just empty inside and all signs gone. So sad. I wonder if they moved elsewhere, like to this place…

I’m all for supporting mom-and-pop stores in small towns. And I definitely will spend money at a Christmas store thats Christmas galore. I love Christmas and Christmas shopping so when this store caught my eye from the street I couldn’t help myself I had to go in. It’s tiny but is completely packed with so many amazing Christmas items that I would never find in New York City. They had so many unique items that would be great as Christmas gifts so of course we picked up a few things. The owners were super friendly one of the owners knew we were from out of town and asked if we had a map and of course we didn’t. So he offered us a map and circled a bunch of places for us to check out while in town even gave us the heads up on where to park for only 10 bucks which was awesome because all the parking places in New Hope are three dollars an hour so it can get pretty pricey for parking if you’re there the whole day. I will definitely return to this little Christmas gem when back in town.

While walking through the carnival of life that is New Hope this past weekend we decided to check out Christmas Past as the store had a 50% off of everything sale going on and it peaked our interest as we had never gone in before. The place itself is like most in New Hope in that it’s small with stuff everywhere but unlike other retailers in town this place actually has some order to it. I was impressed enough that there wasn’t junk piled up on the floor and in corners like most«antique» stores do in town. They carry a lot of the traditionally cheesy and tacky X-Mas ornaments that you would find at other similarly kitschy stores and there is also a room with non X-Mas themed items. I mean if you’re interested in a sixteen dollar giant plastic squirrel than you should hurry before it sells. After about ten minutes in the store we actually did find something«useful» to buy as a present because my MIL in cheesier than a Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuit and the thing we got fits the bill perfectly. If this place were to go full price during the holiday season than I would stay away as their prices would be a complete rip off. But right now during the 50% off sale there are actually some decent finds, if you like Christmas that is. Obviously I don’t. Humbug.
