Applause

This store is a bit tough to get into if you’re coming from New Jersey, just because of the intersection of the roads and the angle of the turn. The parking lot is also on the small side, which can be tough. Don’t try to make a left out of the parking lot when you’re trying to leave though… you’ll be waiting for quite a while!
Anyway, Applause is a wonderful womens’ dress store in Lahaska. Their stock is beautiful and the quality of the garments is really quite nice. I came to look around before my junior prom in high school, and it was a great way to get an idea of what style I liked. They have SO many beautiful options. However, my price range was much too low for that store… so we went elsewhere that year.
However, for my senior prom, I found literally the dress of my dreams when I first walked in. It was the very first dress I tried on and oh, it was beautiful. Pricey, yes, but gorgeous. The associate was patient and helpful, even with several customers in the store. There are limited dressing rooms, but they don’t try to rush you.
And for those of you going to prom – the store keeps a book of the dresses purchased by each girl going to each school’s prom. When you buy a dress, they note down what school’s prom you’re going to and your name. I’m not really sure what they do if you want the same dress as another girl, but I think the point is to prevent that as a whole.
They also stock accessories: chokers, necklaces, bracelets, hair combs and clips, purses, shawls, etc. to complete your outfit for your special occasion :)
I’m not sure I would go here unless it was for a REALLY special night, because the prices are kind of out of this world. =\
