The pricing and quality of the food from Altona makes it the best restaurant in New Holstein. The food is pretty great. I will note that I have not actually been to The Altona, we ordered tenderloin and a french dip to go – and then another time tenderloin and a cheeseburger. My husband remarked that the other customers were keen on staring and didn’t seem very welcoming, so I knocked off a star (not that that’s the place’s fault — but the atmosphere is created by who’s in there).
Regardless, I would definitely go in sometime soon. The au jus is delicious, the protein is always cooked right, and I was a happy camper with our selections.
