There food is good here. But I always order delivery to my workplace and they seem to always up my delivery minimum. I feel like I am getting ripped off. Will not order from there again. Delivery minimum started at $ 20 then $ 25 then $ 35.

Highly recommend their vegetable korma, chicken tikka masala, and garlic naan! Very flavorful! We asked for mild and everything kind of still ended up being spicy so just FYI. Restaurant is CLEAN, staff are attentive, but not in your face. Also ordered saag paneer, sweet lassi, mango lassi, and samosas, which were average-below average. They should make their lassi a bit thicker. I would go back definitely though!

Delivery Review: Took only 30 minutes to have fresh, delicious Indian food at our doorstep! I’ve been to the restaurant for lunch buffet before, but this was a first for ordering delivery through the Eat24 app. I was happy they called when they arrived at our building and not 5 minutes prior as others do, which is an annoyance. No utensils were delivered(none were requested). We ordered lamb curry, garlic naan, strawberry lassi, and gulab jamun. Food ratings: 4* lamb curry, 4* garlic naan, 4* lassi, 2* gulab jamun Everything was okay but nothing to pen the folks about. The gulab jamun was just not tasty and thankfully we had some lassi left over to leave a good taste in our mouths.

I would love to be able to review this restaurant based on the food, but after waiting an hour an fifteen minutes for delivery, I did not get any utensils, and I am not a savage that eats curry with his hands.

I have never eaten in here, but I’ve gotten delivery a fair number of times. I love the chicken tikka masala. It is extremely rich and creamy, which may not be authentic(I think the tikka masala in general is an Anglicization of real Indian food anyway), but it’s delicious.

Our recent home delivery from Sitar was outstanding! The food was delicious, the online service quick and easy. I will go there again and recommnd it far and wide. 5 stars. I had dinner at Sitar before the renovation and the food was not as good. Whatever changes have been made, they have been very pleasing to me and my family.

Went for the lunch buffet. Was seated immediately with our group of 5. There was a great selection of curries, the veggie options were delicious. Butter chicken wad a bit heavy on the butter. The service was a bit neglectful in that they never cleared our dirty plates and aside from filling our water at the beginning of service, they were completely absent. The food was one of the better indian buffets I’ve had.

I have since eaten here in person and gotten delivery many more times and every time it is delicious. Delivery always arrives earlier than quoted time, friendly drivers. Most recently I ordered the Navrattan Korma and Paneer Masala. The korma had pieces of cashew and golden raisins which was awesome and the paneer had pieces of onions and peppers in the sauce for an added texture. Love this place.

3.5 stars to be precise, but it’s officially getting 4 because of great service. I tried the garlic naan, shrimp vindaloo, and chicken vindaloo. Overall, the food here is definitely on the lighter side for Indian, which I definitely appreciate. It seems that they aren’t as cream-based as many other Indian restaurants I’ve tried. The garlic naan was piping hot and delicious, but could have used a tad bit more salt/garlic. The shrimp was tender and juicy, but the curry it was in was a bit too tomato-y. Finally, the chicken vindaloo was savory but missing just a little bit of that signature spicy/savory taste. Overall, the portions were very generous. There weren’t a lot of people in the restaurant at all, which is very spacious. This made for fast/frequent service. Location wise, it’s a little past the Whitney/Grove intersection off by itself down the street on Grove, so a bit random, but definitely not far from campus. In summary, I would say the food here is solid but lacking a little special something that makes it irresistible. Good option if you’re looking for Indian but don’t want to fall into a gigantic food coma afterwards!

I’ve been to every Indian restaurant, both buffets and regular dining, in the area and I would say that this place is a real competitor. My husband and I came late to the game with only 15 minutes left for the buffet and it was really great! The food was still fresh and delicious. Even though it was closing time, they made sure that everyone in the restaurant was completely done before they started to break it down. I didn’t feel rushed at all, it was a nice late lunch. In addition, I love buffets because it gives me the chance to try dishes I would never have known to order including this fantastic mushroom dish. I left stuffed to the gills, a big smile on my face, and another lunch place on my list. Definitely, worth the stop. And for $ 10/pp how can you go wrong?

I’ve only had the lunch buffet at Sitar, and that’s probably what I’ll stick to here. For around $ 10, I can get my fill of curries, naan, and desserts, and since it’s a buffet, I can get in and out within the lunch hour. It’s an easy choice for a place to meet up with friends for lunch because there’s plenty of seating, and even when there’s a crowd, it never feels cramped. In typical Indian buffet fashion, none of the dishes are particularly spicy, but they still have a lot of flavor. Some of the things I’ve tried have been hit or miss, but there’s always a large tray of chicken tikka masala, which is a fine standby. It’s a treat when they have gulab jamun.

Went in with a friend who always rave about this place. Good customer service, food however is bland, ordered chicken biryani and had to get hot sauce on the side which had no particular taste. My friend loves their chicken saag i am punjabi so who would know better then me? I was very curious of taste so i took a bite and I can surely say its not saaj but palak(spinach). It didnt taste like authentic saag at all or they just opening up cans from indian groceries shop and adding chicken curry in it I guess. Overall it was meh experience.

My lunch at Sitar today was satisfying. The food was good. The service was fine. And for $ 10, I was a happy camper. I paced myself on the buffet line. I went for a taste of Onion Bhajia(and was glad I did). Rice with the mixed vegetable curry(it was good). And Tandoori Chicken(not bad, though the pieces I chose ended up being a bit dry). I finished my meal with some salad and the mint sauce. The highlight of my meal was what I actually went for first — the lentil soup. And on a chilly day like today, both the flavor and the warmth were so welcomed and appreciated. As for the service, the thing I appreciated most? I never felt like I had to go thirsty. They were very attentive and excellent at not breaking the flow of our table conversation. The downfall of my review is that I didn’t do a full sampling of the buffet. As you can see, only one curry. What flavors did I miss today that might have blown my mind? Could be worth a return visit.

I went here with a few people for the lunch buffet. It wasn’t bad. The food wasn’t that hot and they were out of naan for most of the meal. Their selection is pretty small. I liked the vegetable sakoras, and they had chutneys for dipping also. They also had the fried dough in honey as part of the buffet which was good. The main dishes were decent, but not terribly flavorful. Not much spicy.

I visited Sitar yesterday(Saturday) for a lunch buffet with a friend. I must say, I was rather impressed with their food. Their buffet included a soup option, salad, 2 appetizer items, 4+ entrée choices, rice, naan, and 2 dessert choices. For $ 10 per person, it was a steal! The food was delicious; the only criticism that I have is that the chicken in the Tikka Masala was rather dry. The food was good, but not at all spicy. I have a sensitive palate and would rate the dishes as 0 – 2 on the spicy scale; this was good for me, but may be a gripe for someone who likes spicy Indian food. The service was excellent — the staff was very attentive and refilled our waters and removed our plates very promptly. I was very impressed with the price, service, and food. Verdict: This venue offers good food for a great buffet price. When I’m feeling in the mood for a sit-down Indian food, I will return to Sitar!

Visited sitar today with my mom for a linch date before I headed off to college. 1. The staff is very polite. They do not annoy you and watch you while you’re eating which is great and comfortable, they do however, fill you water up once it’s half empty which is always a good thing. 2. The atmosphere is so calm, relaxing & quite. The only reason why I’d give 4 out of 5 stars is because of the lack of variety at the lunch buffet. There are a few dishes but not but not much to choose from & they can also build up on flavor. It seems to lack a bit as far as indian food comes along. Besides that, everything is great!
