Rose gave me a great massage! I had a neck spasm and was in a lot of pain. They were able to see me the same day and I feel so much better! High quality services, friendly, and affordable!

I see the positive reviews preceding this and must conclude that either I got the one person on staff who isn’t really licensed or that the reviewers have never had a proper massage from a trained therapist. This was the most bizarre massage experience. No questions prior re. Injuries or special needs and no questions re. What I needed. The language barrier was pretty total and every effort to communicate what I wanted (work on my lower legs and feet) was not understood. I ultimately got off the table, paid and left early. Never dreamed I’d walk out on a massage.

Trust me when I tell you that this is the best place in CT to go for a massage! If you suffer from back or neck pain/​tension you need to give this place a try. It’s not a spa and is definitely no frills, but they are amazing at working out knots and pain. I have been here several times and every massage has been amazing. At $ 60/​hr you can’t go wrong!

Massage rooms were in the back but the massage was great. It was pretty cheap only 60/​hr. I was treated with some hot stones which were very relaxing and my masseuse knew exactly where my knots were! Great place

I love asian massages. Actually prefer them over going to some fancy spa where I leave feeling about the same as I did when I first came. After searching around for a great asian spa on Unilocal,I decided to give Naturegene a try.
I walked in on a Saturday afternoon and realized that this isn’t the type of spa where you can just walk in. They are busy and the schedule is full. However, the sweet girl at the counter managed to work me in for an hour massage.
I was massaged by Rose. I have a place in my shoulder that only one masseuse has been able to get to. Rose managed to get it without my even telling her. I feel amazing. Loved that they were willing to work in the new girl for such a great experience.
As I was leaving I was sure to book an appointment with Rose again. I’ve now learned the system and don’t want to miss out.

This place is great. $ 60/​1hr. Rose, Lin and Jasmine are supposed to be the best but I’ve heard everyone is good. This is not a fancy spa or a luxurious ambiance but the people are nice and the massage is really good.

I went to Naturegene today and had a great experience with Jasmine. This was probably the first time I experienced a massage with just-​perfect pressure, not too much, not too little. She definitely loosened up the knots in my back. The atmosphere, while not spa like, is nice and comfortable, better than the standard Chinatown massage room. Love the quaint store front and the herby smell of the place.
The missing star is for the cupping– I realized she was going to cup me only when I felt the glass cup on my back. I was vaguely aware of the technique and waited until I was on my back to ask her about it. But given that cupping causes vivid bruises, a heads up, if not a proper consent, should be the practice. I’m pretty open to new experiences, and the cupping did help with the knots in my lower neck. I’ll be back.

Susan is just wonderful and my go-​to masseuse when I need a nice, deep massage to release tension and stress. She is very knowledgeable, attentive to the needs of your body, works incredibly hard to get your knots out, and gives a great massage. It’s always a real treat for me! No frills here but if it is the quality of the massage itself that is important to you, there is no better value or service!

…and have now been back many times, as has my husband, my mom, my sister in law… Lin is as good as any muscle therapist I’ve been to anywhere (which, due to an injury, is many), but you need to book ahead. She does a combination of western massage and Chinese techniques, each time is a little different. The folks here are loving people who really want to help you be healthy and happy – try to get Lin or Jasmine if you can. (And don’t be put off by the «Massage PhD» sign, they actually do know what they’re doing :-)

I recently got a 1 hour massage from Jasmine and was very pleased with the quality of the massage and especially the price ($ 55 for 1 hour!). It’s true that the room wasn’t fancy or spa like, but I was very comfortable and the room was clean and quiet. The soft music added to the calming atmosphere. For anyone looking for a good, affordable massage, I highly recommend this place. I will definitely be returning soon…

I’ve been stuck by needles all over New Haven, but really found Dr. Jing Du to be a great acupuncture doctor. Although her English is not completely fluent, she has a great bedside manner and has utter professionalism and deep understanding of acupuncture. She was an internal medical doctor in China and also worked at Yale and Harvard, so she has experience and knowledge of both Eastern and Western medicine.
The Tui Na massages offered at Naturegene are also fantastic. To be clear, there are NO frills here (e.g. candles, waterfalls, tantric music). Just good straightforward treatment.
And the prices just can’t be beat.

Jasmine is fantastic. The 1 hour massage I got from her was better than most massages I would get in Beijing. Before coming to the states, she worked at a Chinese hospital as a massage therapist – so she knows her stuff.
The owner, Mr. Qian, was very friendly. Now that I’m moving away from New Haven, I can’t believe I waited this long to try them out!

I had a terrible experience with Dr. Gao and would not recommend him for acupuncture or massage. He has absolutely no bedside manner and proceeded to discuss (in detail) medical problems of two friends who had referred me while I was on the table. He was also insistent that I am missing one of my cervical vertebrae, which makes absolutely no sense. I do not know much about his credentials, but I was unimpressed by his medical knowledge and very put off by the pressure he put on me to purchase herbal medications from him. I felt uncomfortable during my appointment and I will not go back.

Finally discovered a good massage place with a reasonable price in New Haven. $ 55/​hr. The massage was good, the staff were friendly. The massage rooms are in the back of the store. Nothing fancy, but the quality of the massage was good.

This is the best place to go in New Haven for a traditional Chinese massage. It is definitely not fancy, and the private massage rooms are squeezed into the back of the store, but the quality and price of the massages are great! The owner is very helpful and friendly, too!
