Big. Big. Big fan of this restaurant. Fell in love with Pisco Sours on a visit to Santiago Chile. This place has the best example of this magical concoction we’ve ever found in the Northern Hemisphere. But the ceviche is the real treat. It is simply fresh, delicious, beautiful and very, very generous portions. I always feel great in a neighborhood place where everyone is speaking the language of the FOOD. Spanish spoken here. English accommodated with hospitality and grace. The chef is a warm, friendly, authentic fellow. Sometimes he comes to chat or make recommendations, while pretending to understand my French husbands nascent Spanish. The staff is just awfully nice too. I love this place. A New Haven treasure.

DELICIOSO This is my favorite place for Peruvian food. Always go there with family and friends for special occasions, because the FOODISSOGOOD. Im not an expert on Peruvian food but I like it. The only downside is that sometimes it takes time to get your food. I guess that’s because they make everything fresh. Oh and before I forget, the owner is always in the kitchen. its not like the employees alone just getting orders done. Our favorites are: choros a la chalaca The chaufa con camarones La parihuela Se salio el mar Mojarra frita Side of maduros I hope you find this helpful Thank you

I would give this place no stars, if it would allow me to post that way. The customer service is the WORST. They are so disrespectful and not helpful at all. Do yourself a favor and NEVER go to this restaurant, it is a rip off. Worst experience you could ever encounter. The food is not worthy to be considered Peruvian Cuisine.

Went here last night for dinner. I’ve been looking for a peruvian place closer to home so was excited to find this place online. The menu is quite large and everything sounded good. The waitresses were pleasant but they do not speak english. Luckily my boyfriend speaks spanish so it wasn’t an issue but they didn’t even understand the word«wine». for a bar/restaurant i was put off by that and clearly could never return without my boyfriend. The food itself was good– Mine was better than my boyfriends– i got the Picante de camerones and he got his usual(he never orders anything different) chaufa de camerones. The chef did come out and ask us how everything was which I appreciated. We were the only people in the restaurant at 6 on a wednesday night, and two guys came in to play pool and I felt like we got a strange look from them for being there. They seemed like regulars. This place could be better but the food is good– hire some people that speak english, and maybe do some promotion since its not in the best area to get noticed.

I ordered food from here the other day and I’ll tell you, this was one of the best Peruvian foods I’ve ever tasted. The lomo saltado was one of my favorite. There steak is tender and tasty. The only complain I have is that the food was expensive. There charged over $ 30 for two orders not I guess I can’t complain bc each meal was enough for like 2 – 3 ppl. The only reason they don’t get a 5 is because they didn’t have anticucho

I’m not an expert on Peruvian food but this place is excellent in my opinion. It’s not a fancy place where it’s Americanized and has trendy décor appealing to the upwardly mobile. It’s a neighborhood place where they don’t speak English too well and they really know how to cook! I saw another poster say he was charged for an appetizer he thought was on the house. We got an appetizer from the owner and there was no charge.

In my opinion, Peruvian food has the best cuisine in South America. With that in mind, I am always trying to find good Peruvian food in the US. This place met my expectations! I had been three times at lunch time, and not many people is at the restaurant. I don’t know about dinner time, but it might be worth to call in advance. Important: On Wednesdays, they don’t serve Peruvian food but they have an alternative menu. I recommend: Chicha morada(sweet Inca beverage, Pisco sour(alcoholic drink, pricy but worth every penny -$ 8.00-, choros a la chalaca(amazing appetizer), parihuela(mixed seafood soup), and of course, the ceviche mixto!). If you don’t like hot(spicy) food, let the server know about this as Peruvian food uses rocoto, a very spicy pepper). For children, I recommend Rotisserie Chicken ans sides(rice, tostones, etc).

After reading some reviews, I decided to take the plunge and get food from here. It is in a part of town that I would not venture out to after dark. I talked to the waitress to get her suggestions and though she spoke english, she did not have any additional suggestions. I settled on the shrimp in garlic and it was OK, nothing memorable. Yucca was fine, again not memorable. While waiting, she brought me a small cup(size that is typically used for ketchup at other restaurants) of seafood soup to try as a sample for the next time — I thought this was kind of her. Then I got the bill, the menu said $ 15 and I was charged $ 17, she charged for the soup that she brought($ 1 for tax and $ 1 for soup, which I did not ask for). Rather than argue, I signed the check and left. I do not plan on re-visiting. I was there around 6PM, there were a few patrons drinking at the bar, who were so inebriated that they could not stand and 1 table with 4 patrons eating dinner. I dont think they are going to last very long.

I had food from La Molienda on two different occasions and both times it was great! The first was at Junta(local nonprofit org)‘s annual tequila tasting fundraiser. It was a paella-like dish, seafood and rice, and it was to die for! The second time, I hired them to cater another nonprofit event I was holding and everyone raved about the food. To be honest I can’t remember the names of the dishes as they were in Spanish, but they were all awesome! We had a couple varieties of fried root veggies(i.e. yucca and plaintains, and maybe one other?) — amazing — and then this potato salad type of dish that was fresh and delicious. I look forward to going to the actual restaurant in person for my 3rd taste of their yummy food!

I had a shrimp dish that was virtually smothered in chopped garlic. The food here is amazing and the service as well. I tried and now love yucca, which was new to me before my first visit.
