Huddle House

Food was good. I had stuffed hash browns. The prices are reasonable.
Clean place.
Our waitress was a different story. She was all over the place. Wrong order but she was in luck. I ate it without fuss. Ask for hot sauce she came back at end of meal with it. Little things. She was shot out of a canon too. Meth kills kids.

Honestly, the food was really good. I had the 2 egg breakfast and husband had the pot roast. We had a little problem getting the onions I ordered with the hash browns. I blame the cook. Our server asked the cook if he added the onions to the hash browns. He lifted the hash browns on the plate and said ‘Yes’. Well, actually, the answer was ‘No’. She got me another order of hash browns and all was well.

Probably won’t be back … Food was ok… Nothing to write home about. Waitress forgot our waffle half way through our meal, and our entire meal was spent listening to some LOUD mouth waitress talk like she was at a concert every time she came out of the kitchen area with a customers food… I understand this is a «truck stop“huddle house, but you don’t need to act like truck stop trash !!! Very disappointed ! Brought my fiancé here today to enjoy a late Sunday breakfast as I had shared with him the one I’d been to in scottsboro Alabama, and the one there surpassed this place ANYDAY… Some people do not enjoy your LOUD OBNOXIOUS ATTITUDE/​VOICE. Not to mention that upon entering the huddle house someone shouts out take a seat anywhere you like … And out of all the free tables only one was clean over by the subway entrance … All the other free tables were dirty with glasses and food just sitting around !! Who wants to sit at a dirty table??? Where’s the bus boy/​girl? Rant over

Okay, I get that this is in a truck stop so my expectations aren’t sky high but homie… No. It took us 32 minutes to get a blt and a house salad (there are three other tables seated and one is a man just drinking coffee) the blt is about what I would expect from a $ 4 something sandwich. One piece of lettuce, two pieces of bacon, a slice of tomato on toasted wonder bread. The salad came with those packets of dressing that you get when you buy a salad pouch at the grocery store and the waitress forgot silverware… it took her 3 minutes to come back with some.
The table next to us ordered an ice cream sundae and the waitress brought it to them and said «sorry but we’re out of cherries and our whipped cream was a little runny so we just gave you the chocolate sauce» that quote basically summed up our whole experience.
It took her another 12 minutes after we stacked our empty plates on top of each other for the waitress to bring our check. We paid in cash and told her to keep the change so we could get out of there as quickly as possible.

Gave it a 3 strike and your out rule… Very slow service… 3 in my party. 3 other guests… No need to have been so slow, mostly standing around talking. Forgot to cook part of our order. Workers yelling across the restaurant to reach other, complaining about a meeting that they had had…

Food is pretty good for what it is. Quiet setting and friendly staff. Fair priced food is always great and that is what this place offers. Only downside is, I feel the menu is somewhat limited.

Even for a truckstop restaurant, this place is pretty low on my list. The portions are extremely small for the price they charge. The food was tasty, but the small portions leave you still hungry. I could of gotten a salad at the subway and gotten more food. My waitress was cheerful and up beat, that is the only reason this place got 2 stars. Next time I’ll walk across the highway and goto taco bell

This is a truck stop diner. Ok food but the waitresses are always nice.

This place will grow on you.

My hash browns what they call «All The Way» that consists of diced sugar cured ham, onions, maters, green bell peppers ‚
Topped with cheese!
OK I’m back because I need to try another item in the menu. The Chicken Fried Steak was pretty good as truck stops go! Now on to the chili fries!
My first time here and it’s brand spanking new! We will see how good the Chicken Fried steak is. The staff looks happy to be here.
OK this place is a truck stop I’ll grant you that. They have the Huddle House located inside the Flying J Truck stop. Similar to a Pilot Store maybe one in the same. OK with all that said The Huddle House is pretty good for a quick inexpensive meal. The chili is OK and so are the Chile Fries. I’m go int to go light on the cheese sauce next time i get the Chili Cheese fries. The deserts are OK. We had the Cheese cake and my grandson had the Key Lime pie, and other Grandson had a chocolate some kinda shake. So far i can’t complain. The Chicken Fried steak is pretty good. The sausage gravy and biscuits are real good. Breakfast as a whole is fine with the usual fare. Hash browns, bacon and sausage are also pretty good. Here you get what you see and no surprises. This is a new location so everyone in the New Haven area have another option to get gas, grab a snack or a meal or browse the grocery section and what not stuff featuring Tech and Electronics options and accessories. I almost forgot to say you can buy fresh baked Cinnabon cinnamon rolls fresh from the oven. They truly are the Cadillac of cinnamon buns!
