The food was very tasty although a bit too greasy for my stomach. The burger was cooked to perfection and I loved the crispy bacon. Tons of topping choices at no extra cost. I think it’s a little high on the price side. I got a little cheese burger, a little bacon cheese burger, a regular fry and one medium drink for $ 21. The food was ready quickly. The staff was helpful and it was very clean.

Music is just too damn loud!!! Can’t freaking eat in peace or have a conversation, not to mention staff is screaming because people can’t hear them of the LOUD MUSIC!!!

I give this place 5 stars because the service is a little better here than the other 5 Guys I have been to. I’ve been to this establishment many times on trips back and forth from Boston to NYC and it’s never been bad or have I experienced bad or substandard service. Good food, great people.

Five guys burgers are great — hard to argue that. A couple points of feedback for this specific location, echoing some other reviews: 1) it’s usually freezing in there. I suspect it’s a happy medium to compensate for a hot kitchen, or maybe there’s a strategy to keep the customers moving. Either way, the uncomfortably cold dining room detracts from the eat-​in experience. 2) the fries are inconsistent; I personally don’t mind the occasional extra-​crispy batch, but the soggy batch we just had wasn’t very appetizing. 3) I like the music but it can be too loud. Perhaps part of the #1 «keep it movin» strategy? Just some constructive feedback to mgmt and heads up for first time visitors. Still gets 4 stars from me!

This five guys location is awesome. I work across the street and stop in often. They are happy energetic and make you feel like you just walked into the tv show «cheers» I am so impressed with their work ethic and their quality of food. Fantastic team and management. Thanks all. These are the folks that need 15 bucks an hour. Great service always. Love it

I give out a lot of five stars; That’s cuz I try to eat at places that don’t suck. I knew this joint was gonna be good-​but this has the extra bonus of being a good looking, retro kind of joint. I’ve never had a sucky meal at a Five Guys, but I mostly just ate at Pennsylvania ones. This bodes well for the downtown New Haven one, which I have no fear will be decent.

The last couple of times have been terrible. They cannot get the orders right. Wrong toppings, no toppings, wrong sizes. Too bad because when they are good they are very good… but lately? I’ll try else where

What a nice group of people working at this location. Excellent customer service and extremely, outgoing and friendly. They all were so happy and their positive attitudes were contagious! The food is at five guys is always good but it is the employees at this Westville location that make me want to frequent the place. And the music was great too!

My wife and I had lunch here today. As we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by one of the guys in the kitchen. We ordered the standard burgers and fries, ate some of the free peanuts and waited what we felt was a relatively short period of time — given that it was during the lunch hour on the last full day of shopping before Christmas. The guys in the open kitchen interacted us while we waited for our food. When our order was ready, one of the guys in the kitchen apologized for our wait (we were thinking what wait), and gave us extra fries — which amounted to almost a full bag of fries.
Good food, great service. We will be back the next time we’re craving a burger!

I’ve probably eaten in a dozen different Five Guys, and I’ve eaten at this one multiples times. It is an experience! The crew behind the glass is constantly engaged in their customers. They are fantastically entertaining. They call out customer counts coming in from the lot, in line, and waiting. They greet every customer coming through the door and playfully fill orders. When I order, I sit and watch and always leave feeling good. Check it out for yourself sometime!

This update is a bit overdue — so after a complete changeover of staff in 2011, this Five Guys got back to being great in ’12-’13. The burgers and veggie sandwiches are consistently very good, and I appreciate that they’ve added a smaller serving size option for fries.
The staff is quite friendly and courteous. I will note that since Five Guys first appeared in our area, prices have crept up a bit, but it still represents a good bargain. Overall, back to excellent.

The best burger and fries you are going to get in New Haven!
Everything is fresh from the beef down to the freshly cut potatoes. The dinning area is always clean and the staff is always loud, upbeat and friendly.
Not really craving a burger? They have delicious hot dogs, grilled cheese and fresh fries. They also have a yummy veggie melt with a base of mushrooms and grilled onions for those who do not eat meat.
I recommend the delicious boardwalk style fries with a side of vinegar and a bacon dog or burger with cheese, jalapenos and BBQ sauce!
Deducted 1 star because I wish they had milkshakes!

Gotta say, this place rocks. I’m only deducting a star because I think that the prices are a little outrageous and there’s some inconsistencies with the fries (sometimes too salty, sometimes overcooked).
They greet you when you come in and I’m sure their energy level is tough to keep up with throughout their shifts, but they seem to do it with ease. The latest addition is the Coke soda fountain which lets you add as many flavors as you can dream of. Excellent addition in my opinion.
Fries are good. sometimes a little too cooked or too salty but definitely one of their selling points. I’ve noticed that this store seems to not give as many fries as others. Not sure if it’s just their thing or a management decision, but noticeably different than other Five Guys locations.
Burgers are awesome… Nice polite workers… Good stuff.

This is one of the best 5 guys IMHO. The staff here is always friendly and fast. It’s 5 guys so you know its just pure gluttony. I ordered two doubles with cheese LTM and raw onions and then another of the same with bacon and large fries (no I did not eat all of this). One burger did not make past the parking lot and the rest was enjoyed at home. I love how they all say hello as you walk in.

Burgers and hot dogs where o.k. The problem is the way they go about serving. While sitting there eating, you have to hear the whole crew YELLING. They start off when a customer is walking towards the front door. One cook yells «1 or 2 or 3, etc .more «to the crew. (that means they yell out how many people are about to enter the restaurant) Then the whole crew yells «IY «Then they yell to you how are you. Then they yell your order to the crew, then they yell to the crew that your order is going on the grill, then yell when it’s coming off the grill, then they yell your number when its ready.
So they do this to every customer, mind you over the music that’s being pumped into the restaurant, it gets so loud in there you cant even have a conversation while eating.
I won’t go back unless they stop the YELLING

I’ve always loved a good 5 guys burger and Cajun fries!
Super happy to see that I can get a one person size of fries now in a small.
Having a mad craving for a little bacon cheeseburger and totally forgot this location existed until I saw the sign and the store from the Merritt parkway so I drove on in. Glutton for punishment just after getting a nice workout in.
The place was clean and the staff super friendly, some of the most friendly people I have encountered at any of the 5 guys locations I have been to.
The menu is exactly the same everywhere, the layout the same, and the food, awesomely delicious. My order came right out hot and fresh. And yes, the fries are greasy and the burger hot and juicy. What else could a girl ask for at 10 pm on a Tuesday night? Well lit parking lot.
