With all«due respect» to the other person flaming them… I’m a former long term tenant(over a decade) of Elm City. I was treated courteously and professionally from the first to the last day. Maintenance was prompt and thorough, and in numerous interactions with Mr. Cuomo he was always a gentleman. Would rent from them again without hesitation…

Don’t ever rent from Anthony Cuomo. He is a crook. My former downstairs neighbor, Joyce Fleming-Doyle, brags to other tennants of having a total of 12 people removed from the apartment above her. She makes false noise complaints to Cuomo, and performs other aggressive behaviors. On the night before we moved out, she woke us up by hitting on her ceiling with a hammer. Her actions required us to file a report with the New Haven Police Department. For Cuomo’s part, he tried to convince us to move into a different, but less-desirable unit, while paying the same rent. When we refused to do so, he simply chose not to cash my rent check, and then started an illegal constructive eviction, claiming that I had not paid my rent. Since this check was sent through Bank of America’s Bill-Pay system, it generated a paper trail which eventually he was caught up in. When my roommate and I decided to move, Cuomo was quite angry that none of his schemes had worked. He delayed signing the paperwork releasing us from our lease, and never provided a reference to our new apartment complex(where my roommate and I have been staying quite comfortably). There was one legitimate complaint of water damage, caused by a friend of mine who accidentally left a faucet running. However, instead of doing as required by law, and providing us with an itemized list of damages and receipts, Cuomo decided to make an itemized list himself, based on his own estimates. After consulting with three lawyers, it was agreed that this list of estimates was quite high. The actual damages were less than $ 400, but the bill was for $ 1200. After being contacted by a lawyer helping us with this matter, Cuomo sent us our damage deposit back, minus the $ 1200, with a note to the lawyer indicating that if we cashed the check, we waived our rights to challenge him in court. During this time he *also* tried to cash the check that he had claimed he had never received. He did a bunch of other criminal stuff, but this review is long enough, and you probably get the point by now. Don’t rent from this guy
