This place absolutely MUST be inspected by the health department. Filthy doesn’t even begin to describe the conditions in this «restaurant». Left over food, crumbs, dressings and sauces, pans, etc, litter the prep station counter. Our incredibly SLOW moving employee took 25 Minutes to make one bagel, one salad, and three sandwiches — of which they were out of three things needed to make what was requested. She spilled Caesar dressing all over the workstation and left it, while she made the other items… it was dripping into the other bins of food during this time. She slopped butter onto our bagel and wiped the excess off onto the floor. She prepared the sandwiches then by laying them directly onto the dirty countertop. Just disgusting. Please, please, please… do not even pull into the parking lot.

The bagels are great but management needs to figure out the staffing. Everytime I’ve gone there on the weekend, at least 2x a month over the past few months, the line has been ridiculous. They never appear to have enough staff and the ones that are on work at a snails pace. This weekend topped it off when I went in at about noon on Sunday and they had maybe 10 bagels left with only 3 different kinds available. Someone didn’t show up and it was going to be another 20 minutes before anymore were ready. It’s a bagel store, they only sell bagels and there were none. Get it together management!

I ordered a sandwich for pick up and upon arrival I found out that the male that took my order didn’t even relay it to the front staff…
Luckily Lamesha was there to make my sandwich in a very timely manor given the situation. She’s always been amazing and I’d give her 5 stars every day! However if it wasn’t for her this review wouldn’t even have stars. Thank goodness for her!

Stopped @Bruegger’s Bagels on 09÷04÷15 @ 4:12pm, the start of the Labor Day weekend. I’ll get right to the point — HORRIBLE coffee, GREAT bagel (toasted everything bagel w/​cream cheese). A place like this should never ever serve bad coffee!
The 2 employees on duty @the time didn’t seem like they were too enthused bout servin up bagels & coffee either. Prices= $ 1.99 for coffee & $ 2.59 for bagel. Next time I’m in the area I’ll get my bagel @ Bruegger’s & go down Whalley a bit & pick up my coffee @ DD. If the coffee would have been at least average I woulda given Bruegger’s a 4 star rating.

As far as Brueggers bagels go, this one is definitely up to par. Spacious seating, reasonable music volume, friendly staff and quick-​ish service.
Tables could be cleaned more frequently. But mostly clean surfaces. Will return.

Staff seemed overwhelmed even though there were only two parties ordering food at the counter. BUT the food came out good– I got the «Turkey in the Slaw» deli sandwich. I asked for rye bread instead of the whole wheat it comes on and the girl seemed totally thrown off and confused and it came out on wheat lol (I know they have rye bread because other sandwiches come on it). Also a little pricey. But overall it was a good sandwich. Place is nice and appears clean.

I really like the bagels at Brueggers. While I love a good NY bagel, I find the size of a Brueggers bagel much better for my waistline.
The bagels are the perfect blank canvas for their breakfast and lunch sandwiches. Again not too big, but they give you the perfect ratio of crunchy outside and soft inside.
As for this location… I am here a lot. The store is always very clean, as is the bathroom (which to me is a true measure of cleanliness). The staff is always SUPER friendly. They have a great manager who makes himself available to help whenever the lines get out of control. All in all, a great place to stop in and have a cup of coffee and a bagel-​and the free wifi is a great added bonus!

I’ve been disappointed with quality and staff at 2 other locations (Shelton and Hamden, respectively), so I warily stepped into this store one morning several months ago. I’m glad I did!
The quality is exactly what I remember and expect from Bruegger’s: consistent, soft, chewy bagels with a good distribution of toppings. Staff is very friendly, too. I’m here 2 – 3 times per month and I’m always greeted with a smile and a hello, and I’m always wished a nice day on my way out the door.
I don’t know if this location has a different district manager than the other 2 stores, but whatever they’re doing, they need to keep it up, and perhaps spread the love to their sister locations.

Lousy service, mediocre bagels (when they’re actually fresh) and an unpleasant and untidy dining area. Oh yes, and the parking lot is horrible too.
This was a carbohydrate experience so bad it must have immediately been repressed because when I worked nearby I would return, time and again, having, I guess, forgotten how much I hated this place. Some days still, I feel as if I have not awakened from this nightmare slumber… good bagels are getting harder and harder to find and I wander, searching.
