Eclectic and charming… Sort of a like staying at Grandpa’s Cottage with tons of cool, old 1940’s travel memorabilia. Vintage Huffy and Schwinn bikes free for guests to use… A unique check in process. You make a reservation via phone but don’t pay until you leave. When you arrive, you look for your name and room number on giant chalk board outside then when you walk up to your room, the keys are in the door waiting for you. Super laid back atmosphere!

Charming place in New Harmony, IN. Called for a room last minute for one night. He was already booked. However, he has a sweet little cottage on the property and was able to put us up in the cottage. Doesn’t have a lot of bells and whistles so if you are looking for cable, internet, and luxury this is not the right place. What it does have is a lot of unique character and personality. The owner is so kind and accommodating. It is clean, affordable, and super close to town. He has bicycles you can borrow to ride around town. Wonderful place to stay if you are looking for a cute getaway. Will definitively stay again if we find ourselves in New Harmony again.

NOTE: As good as it gets for those of you interested in eclectic, hippy, collecting, old books, great stories. Not so good if you’re looking for immaculate B&B type atmosphere. Luckily we love the more off-the-beaten-path, crazy eclectic type places and this place certainly didn’t disappoint! There is a feast for the eye in every nook and cranny you can find. Rooms of knickknacks, books, treasures, old magazines, toys, games, whatever you can name you’ll probably find! This would certainly be a great place for a treasure hunt! Even finding photos of past visitors stored in some random book! See if you can find it if you visit! Like I said there’s stuff everywhere so don’t plan on a lot of space and the place is somewhat randomly thrown together. No rhyme or reason to anything but it’s pretty darn cool as is Jim, the owner/operator. If you get some extra time to spend chatting with him I would recommend it. What great stories! We can’t wait to visit in the spring when the town is uncovered and green! See you then Jim!

Great little hotel. Very affordable. Provided complimentary bicycles which we rode around town on the whole weekend. In easy walking distance of everything in New Harmony. Charming!
