Hoesly’s Meats

Nice local butcher shop/​deli. They have a slab of bacon and asks «how thick» you like it cut.
They sell ground turkey, stuffed chicken, brats, franks, jerky, beef sticks, pork chops, ground beef, steaks of all cuts, and even raw bones for your dogs.
You can literally buy an entire cow there. Just be sure to order ahead, there is a waiting list.
Not open on Sundays.
A little bit of a drive from Madison but well worth it! You can really taste the difference.
They take credit cards too!

I have been here many times and purchased most items. The environment is very clean, the meat is fresh and very tasty, and they offer selections that include veal sausage.

We made a quick stop here while heading south on IL Highway 69 toward New Glarus. I bought some braunschweiger, which was really nice, and not as fatty as many I’ve tried.
The shop is nice and the meat looked good, though it didn’t seem to have the variety of some meat markets I have visited.

Go to New Glarus. Just before you get to the only stop light in town there will be an industrial park, that’s where Hoesly’s is located. If you want to taste the some of the best brats, beef sticks, deli meats, and sausages in all of Wisconsin stop here. Instead of me just ranting about how good each product is, and they are. Just go to Hoesly’s, ask for a brown bag and insert the following items. 1) Kalberwurst (Veal Sausage) 2) Beef Snack Sticks (youll never want to buy beef sticks from a gas station again after you try these) 3) Sliced Veal Loaf 4) FRESH Beer Brats 5) FRESH Tailgater Brats 6) Stump’s Hot Olive Brats 7) FRESH Swiss & Mushroom Brats! Now if youre missing any on these items from your grocery bag, youll have to go back. I had friends from Austraila, that were traveling the US, make a 3 hour drive from Chicago just to taste these Beef Sticks. They bought 10 packages, ran them about $ 20 — $ 30. This was a year ago. My friends are in England right now, and they still email me to rant about these beef sticks. GO GO GO! NOW! NOW! NOW!
